  1. PbG yes it should all come out in the wash. As to your comment ‘get some perspective’- I tried to, seeing the Beebs report I initially thought ‘gosh whats’s going on?’ dug round and nothing matched up, hence my comment T ps re. ‘ corruption everywhere’ you appear to be from and engineering background - explain the decision to buy/ build the French/ Chinese rector at Hinckley - was it due to Flamanville’s success? 😉
  2. Interesting you've posted this I've just seen how the BBC has reported this compared to what is freely available re. information, images etc. I knew folks threw round BBC bias but in reading the BBC's accounting of this event sort of disappoints me (ever the optimist that Auntie Beeb would be part good) and actually a little bit angry' at the selective reporting. You then see the Go fund me for the young guy being shut down, it all feels wrong. As someone pointed out, the Chinese do not bother watching the news as they know/worked out its all political rubbish/propaganda - is this now the case with western MSM? T
  3. Dave You would have to mod the 52D - it about the tightest chamber out there 😳 The folks I’ve spoken with have not seen that issue with the Nevis, I’m leaning towards this reamer as I like the Lapua/SK offerings re ammunition think .043’s about spot on as well re rim thickness on Lap/SK that I’ve measured vs Eley and RWS 12o’clock firing pin -😎 T
  4. Dave Very nice and I cannot see any reason not to have a good 22rf - you have more chance/locations of using one than a CF of the same design. Being nosey - what ‘head space’ (rim thickness) did you choose to set up for? What ammo does it favour so far? Can I ask what reamer design you went with? I’m looking at the Nevius cheers T
  5. Matt Would not write off the US options due to ITAR too quickly as both ITAR has changed a little and a lot of US manufacturers simply said 'can't do that it's ITAR ' as they could not be bothered/did not understand ITAR. (probably same spiral staircasetards that block EU access to their web sites due to 'GDPR' 🙄 ) Contact a reputable and 'ITAR registered' US end exporter, as an example Reloading International if there is something specific you would like to get hold of. T
  6. As per title, selling March 10-60 x 52 scope fine cross hair with dot, 1/8 moa clicks Will focus down to less than 10m overall condition very good, as new except for turret caps which have a few visible marks. I’ve been using it for 22rf BR and more fine target applications which which it is perfect £600 delivered SOLD
  7. Scrummy In the .223’s small case volume you will probably gain by not sticking to magazine length, do you really need to run a mag for longer range ‘range use’? bullets in the 70-75g should work in your 1:9 barrel, but probably a suck it and see 🤔 Enjoy
  8. If you have any plastic moulding companies near you then the raw pellets they use are very good and are the basic materials that commercial rear bag manufacturers utilise NB lots of different types to obtain the right feel and ‘lock up’ etc Molding machines use dried pellets and sometime they over cook them = material that they have to throw away = normally free. Pellets do not rot or absorb water and being irregular shapes they lock up better as opposed to BB’s which are round brgds T
  9. As per other comments, don’t mix brass makes, think of the volume inside the case as the same as the cc of an engine - different cc = different performance. And along the same thought process brass from the same make and batch = blue printing an engine, you get just a little bit more performance T
  10. OA when I did shoot 223 it was using N140 and under slightly heavier bullets (69 & 73g). from memory it was in the 23g/24g range - but that was in my rifle what speeds are you getting? Which primers? t
  11. PaulC a day’s one to one with any of those mentioned, or even Orion, will sort your technique, boost your confidence and sort out what your rifle will do. US is fun and a few more opportunities but not really necessary. Cheers t
  12. As per PbG the Vortex items are quite nice and good quality, https://www.uttings.co.uk/p130550-vortex-lo-pro-bubble-level-30mm-lbl-30/#.Xwx9JyhKiUk Now if you want 'sexy' and very easy to see then the LRA 'Send-it' jockeys are very good, you can set the sensitivity and brightness etc. and they pop on and off a rail: https://shop.marchscopes.co.uk/products/long-range-arms-electronic-level Have both items, each used where suitable/applicable. T
  13. Lehman, Do not think anyone’s saying there is anything ‘wrong’ with a pinned recall lug, it was the way things were always done historically. It is just with EDM technology now more available then a receiver that is one piece with both recoil lug and scope rail is moe common and, in theory, a better approach technically. T
  14. Andrew, Same effect really, but I was using jacketed and wanted to avoid reduced loads - just used the normal load but ‘held back’ the brass 1st time out. T
  15. C-22, That sound about right re. O seal section, the O seals I used were a bit under size so the section went down when I stretched them over the case. You are correct, stripper clips will not work, think from memory my rifle fed from the mag though?? good luck but the effort is worth it 😉 T
  16. C-22, If you have the right sized O rings then ‘no’ you do not need to remove the extractor - least I did not find the need to? 🤔 You should just feel the bolt ‘snug up’ as it closes on the O seal i.e. you know the case is held against the bolt face. Once you have fired the cases hold them up against an unfired case - you might be surprised how much difference there is in the length of the shoulder area. Brgds T
  17. Cheers Dave, will take a look. Reading this thread jogged my memory - , think I’ve a bullet pointing setup for 6mm from my Swiss match ‘days’ out in ‘the shed’, might dig out more specifically found this article which has data on my current 6mm bullet, worth a try? ; https://precisionrifleblog.com/2020/03/29/bullet-jump-load-development/ T
  18. Dave, Are the 110g 6mm the new A tips? If so where did you obtain them as i'd like to try a few. Cheers T
  19. Cheers Dave, The ‘boring 😉‘ was tongue in cheek, nice round but it’s becoming a bit ‘pubic’ 😂 T
  20. Why 3, what was your thinking? Can see the odd number of grooves, that makes sense, but why 3 in a CF? T
  21. Dave, Nice and tidy looking - you do not say which cartridge its built on the (boring 😉) 6.5 or the 6? T
  22. Al, So in reading you explanations & comments it is, as per a lot of thing, what your rifle (or more specifically you barrel( likes? Also, and correct me if I’ve read this wrong, small increments could make a difference but in some cases (no pun) not. Might go and revisit the 6 Dasher when the world wakes up again T
  23. Raw, Currently using a Vectronix Terrapin which has proved to be solid and reliable. No longer Mande as far as I know? But they have a newer model the ‘X’ which now has Bluetooth to communicate with Apps - not cheap, but cheaper than their military models. T
  24. Al, Is there a trend in which bullets are more sensitive? To me they would be the ones to avoid 🤔
  25. Case in point, I also 'wipe out the barrel, dry chamber etc., before use, normally the night before, with alcohol & patch dry. This gives a pretty good starting point, here is the first target shot after lock down reopening of ranges, from a very clean barrel, 1000 yards (been posted elsewhere but relevant): 1st shot low right in this rifle So 'minute of deer' should not be an issue? 😉
