  1. No, just bloody dogs woke me early so thought I’d do a bit of β€˜artistry’ πŸ€”πŸ˜šπŸ˜‚
  2. Seiko dive watch, solar powered, purchased for use while shooting. Chris Reeve mountaineer II
  3. Pulsar G10, used as an everyday watch and has survived much DIY'ing Background is a Ashton based CBG
  4. MarinePMI that he does 😎 Omega Speedy anniversary. Half face Crow jnr. knife
  5. Submariner, had it about 25 years until recently worn everyday. Rifle is an Axtell 77 Sharps (aka β€˜The English Sharps) in 45 - 70.
  6. IWC bought in memory of my mother who passed away recently Knife is a custom Gene Ingram drop point
  7. Paddy, I doubt if anyone will be using slow loads in them, my guess is more than 1000 less than 2000, but just too many variables when you get into this type of shooting. Think you just have to treat the barrel as a consumable and add say 75p/round to each shot fired at each outing and put the money into a pot 😳 Have a trawl round the US sites perhaps, more users. T
  8. BD Just ask if he can put the Expedition hour hand onto that watch and your done? ....ask me another 😁 crystallography & photon tracks, hum, something you see every day while walking the dog,or diving in the ocean or even being filmed and talked over in a hushed voice by David A πŸ˜‰ (come on gents - pedantry of the highest order badges all round)
  9. Looks like about 500 dwarves mined the raw materials πŸ€”πŸ˜ Different but definitely Marmite - NB no straight lines in nature!
  10. .... bit off OP and possibly a bit sad, but this thread’s been one of the more interesting parts of my week. I’m off the Gin, gone over to using wine in my over night oats! 😁
  11. Cam, perhaps something like these? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Stainless-Polishing-Magnetic-Tumbler-Polishers/dp/B07M91FQ94/ref=pd_lpo_60_t_0/259-5601924-5356961?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07MMSXK1P&pd_rd_r=b678007e-34d3-4fea-b93b-d3174c52c0d4&pd_rd_w=QeDjA&pd_rd_wg=nBCc8&pf_rd_p=7b8e3b03-1439-4489-abd4-4a138cf4eca6&pf_rd_r=S3M58QY6QGQNMDFBZ49Z&psc=1&refRID=S3M58QY6QGQNMDFBZ49Z They are 5mm and various diameters, but seem expansive, so Googlefoo might be your friend? T
  12. This Longines looks nice as a modern repro? https://www.longines.com/en-gb/universe/news/the-longines-heritage-military-cosd T
  13. The IWC Spitfire are quite good in this direction perhaps? https://www.iwc.com/gb/en/watch-collections/pilot-watches/iw326801-pilot_s-watch-automatic-spitfire.html was tempted but ended up with the 'geezer' T
  14. BD Think the Nite watch that Webley linked gets my vote as closest so far? T
  15. BD, Sort of resolved a similar quest a couple of years back, wanted a watch that I could were to the range etc (which is as close to the 'field' as I'm going to get!) but needed a stop watch function when running competitions but also would take some knocks and was not expensive. Ended up with this Seiko air diver X, solar powered so just leave it on the window ledge when not in use, bit bulky but does not matter My every day while DIY'ing is a Pulsar G10 donated by a friend 😎 other watches for high days and holidays. T
  16. Saw that earlier, it is good news as I joined the FCSA when I moved close to Warminster with the sole idea of shooting with them on the Javelin range - just in time for it to become off limits! Better get the new barrel for the 300NM underway then! T
  17. Tony, Another good backer is the β€˜plastic’ sheet that estate agents use for their for sale signs, it’s like corrugated cardboard but plastic. Or, if you can leave your target holder in place, builders use an orange netting as perimeter debris control, stretch about a metre of this between two posts and you can then clothes peg targets to it. T
  18. Trigger - warning , think cocaine might be cheaper? πŸ˜‚
  19. Kaboom, The economy of it all obviously features but refining ammunition that works in your rifles must be β€˜up there’ in the reasons. Caveat: some factory ammunition currently available is very good, like silly good 😎 e.g. recent play with Hornady in a stock Tikka Tac gave sub 1” group at 285 yards and a measured ES of 5 3 shot group. Accuracy was consistent throughout the morning. In some cases (no pun) it is a matter of necessity e.g. BPCR, 6mm Dasher. But I also, call me strange, quite enjoy reloading/casting - but I do it in stages and batches to avoid the brain fry you describe - also I’m lucky in that my middle son now shoots so I can delegate some of the less critical/easy to setup tasks to him. The end product is the prize 😍 T
  20. Love that Hooper with the tan strap 😎
