  1. Some discussion about the scope with comments from folk who have have seen it at SHOT pricing is to say the least, is excessive ,,,, https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/new-schmidt-bender-pm2-6-36x56.7107678/
  2. Had customers come for fixes for extractor(s) ejectors sticking (hot loads,,,,) bolt handles (x3) - hot loads, bolt nose failure (v hot load) Sako extractor popping out (mine and very well used action ) All the above is since 2007 to date Given the number in use in my area alone that’s a pretty low failure rate I’ve replaced more parts on Tikka and Sako in that time (extractors, ejectors and manual ejectors on Sako)
  3. Also use precision ground mandrels to size the internal bore of the neck after initial FL sizing seems to aid consistency and low ES confirms this in the cartridges I reload using them
  4. Illumination looks to be a retro step along the lines of Zeiss and Hensoldt
  5. SSG3000 takes sub 5 mins but is stock off procedure (including this in the time ) so in all five bolts to either undo or remove Returns to zero quite reliably AI takes a minute - 4mm hex and simply unscrew and re thread the barrel to hand tight and re tighten the 4mm hex My other traditional rifles will take 5-10 mins with stock off and barrel vice / torque wrench and action wrench
  6. The forend tip is ebony and the stock was bedded quite some time ago now by me
  7. Yes - simply because they are not available in a cartridge I want If I could buy the AT action, an AT-X chassis and a comp trigger I would do That’s not an option
  8. I will have a unused new creedmore barrel for sale soon from an A T x if that’s any use to you (when the rifle arrives ) ,,,,
  9. Cheers David - probably as you say differing leade dimensions making one barrel more forgiving yo shoot a variety of bullets over another
  10. This is to Whixh I referred http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2012/02/evans-sets-uk-benchrest-records-with-accuracy-intl-tactical-rifle/
  11. Ok - thanks for clarifying Serial numbering of barrels usually refers to the part number for stock at manufacture 👍🏻
  12. So at present the demo ATX rifles being used in the states are prefix 20 (these use the standard AT action that is across the board now in all their weapons other than MC actions I've just rebarrelled two rifles prefix 14 and the other 12 - they shot superbly right up until the time their barrels were toast and needed replacing I had an 07 (2007) Prefix AW that went on to win the Benchrest small group (factory rifle) accolade - (not in my ownership) From what you’ve just posted about serial numbers you are saying that 03 (2003) built rifles shot better than 2005 (05) ? just trying to get my head around the thought process that a 2005 barrelled action may shoot any different to any other date and those rifles will have been barrelled using Lothar Walther tubes by the way at that date period
  13. Can’t say I’ve noticed any AI (recent or old) with accuracy issues from either the older Walther barrels or the Sassen barrels - other than shot out tubes ready for rebarrelling Ive replaced (rebarrelled) several A I rifle barrels with Sassen, (which are the factory barrel on the newer rifles ) and not noticed any accuracy issues (from client feedback)
  14. Ritchie - Impact actions are available from Dane Precision (Paddy Dane ) I’ve just used one for a buikd for a client (creedmoor) in an MPA chassis The action is really nice and it shoots very well Most rifle builders in the UK could build you a rifle with multiple barrels but I’d suggest that 284 isn’t the best choice as it’s primarily a long action cartridge though can be run with lighter bullets seated deeply though at the expense of powder space which would reduce the advantage of using the case in the first place 284 better served as long action
  15. Bsa scorpions are circa 200 second hand Good pistol for dispatch of greys so long as you use a trap comb Not used the crossman - was that sold as the “rat buster” years ago ? Webley hurricane another decent little air pistol
  16. Thank you - waiting to hear how it shoots
