  1. Shiney spots on the base = a hot load, that surprises me as I tried 42grs in my 6.5x47 and I didn't have any pressure signs I just felt it was harsher than I expected, dropped it back 0.5grs and it felt better and shot like a laser at 600yds. I thought the creedmoor had more powder room so I'm surprised your getting pressure signs at 42grs.
  2. You need a magnum primer with a thicker cup
  3. Velocity wise over 2800fps on both loads from a 27 inch barrel, probaly 2850fps plus on a warm day according to the bal cal. Great accuracy obtainable from all powders I mentioned. I thought I was going to miss H4350 but it's made no difference I've noticed. Loads mentioned above shot the shot same elevations as H4350 loaded ammo give or take an inch at 600yds,I didn't need to change my zero as we usually fire a few siters to zero anyway, since then I've zeroed for 139gr scenars and I know the poi change if I take it out hunting with the 140gr amaxs.
  4. RS62 or RS60. If your going to fire alot of shots then us 62, if your only using it in a hunting situation then use 60. I've used both but I've stuck with the 62. I use 41grs with 139gr scenars and 41.5grs with 140gr amaxs, both shoot great, the 6.5x47 is mainly a range rifle which doesn't go across the fields much these days but when it does the 140gr amax is an awesome bullet, probaly the best alround bullet ever made. If you opt for RS60 39grs will about the optimum charge. Atb No I deer
  5. N160 pushes the 180 grainers a little faster than N165. Justin's barrel spits them out pretty damned fast. My 284 barrel is 26 inch and I don't get anywhere near that speed
  6. My barrel is 0.700 inches 17.82mm so it's not big enough to suit the deresinator you have it seems 🙄.
  7. Neil Mckillop or Mik Mak are likely candidates. I imagine the KMR holds about the same powder as the 7mm saum which maybe a easier option, I know nothing about the KMR....
  8. Mr Elwood have loads of info on this subject.... Looking forward to some good info from this myself
  9. Ronin may be a good person to reply as he has a shehane, rgt has a shehane for sell in classifieds and has a set of newlon dies,if you pm him he would be a good source of info but may not sell the dies seperate.... My guess would be the barrel life between the 284 and the shehane would be very similar as the powder difference is only a couple of grains ish.... Using a cooler burning powder is the best way to prolong the barrels life 👍
  10. Hi Terry. I have read up and watched videos on the barrel tuners etc. I did watch the Richard Uttings video on this limb saver barrel tuner that made me curios to wanna try one, this was a 57yd group with 42gr winney subs I shot about a week ago, it rarely shoots better than this, the old eley xtra hollow subs were way better.
  11. I will try one please it would need to fit my cz452 varmint. Atb No I deer
  12. That's a lovely rifle,a shame to sell it 🙄,somebody getting into f open would have the perfect start. Good luck with the sell 👍
  13. Depends what you get it throated for. 188 freebore does 180gr hybrids and accomadates the 162gr amaxs superbly,go too .220 and the 160gr bullets are bordering on being too short not seating much in the case neck. If you had it throated for 180gr scenars l's only 180gr bullets would work ok coz of they need .260 ish freebore. Best consult a gunsmith really but you will find this info is pretty accurate. Atb No I deer 😉
  14. Fun is what it's about. My 7mm saum would need 10 minutes at 600yds with 184gr hybrids, some using 155 grainers in their 308 FTR rifles would use less
  15. I like the K&M primer pocket uniformer 👍, the best one for cleaning the pockets too
  16. I've worn out 10's of thousands of cases over the last 21 years and never deburred any yet,in the last 5 or 6 years I've only used lapua or Norma.
  17. If you get them shooting small groups at 100yds they will more than likely shoot well out to 600yds and beyond. Accuracy is key.......
  18. I have 2 of them Tikka slip on rubber knobs and there great, one on my tikka action and the other on a Borden timberline bolt,I wouldn't change them for anything else.....
  19. I didn't get to know if the spigot was going to be sold separately or how much the spigot would cost...
  20. If the wildcat rifle has been proofed surely there shouldn't be a legality issue unless it was an unregistered firearm
  21. This wouldn't be managed or monitored properly so there's no point. A HME procedure is one thing, shooters running there 223 ,243 and such like rifles past it's safe working pressures is another issue as they wouldn't be nowhere near HME but is a far more dangerous situation
  22. It might work with my bag rider but I'm not gonna know for sure until I offer my bag rider too it to see if 2 holes line up,thanks for the photos I will give it some thought Thank you 👍
