  1. This is a topic on another forum. My question is has anybody ranged from the 1000yds firing point to big holes made by the bullet splashes in the sandbanks behind the target frames or has any of you been down in the butts and has a good idea how far the sandbanks are from the targets. Cheers No I deer
  2. That was a bit of luck then Mark.... Wished I knew the hackers...... They could of ordered me some mitutoyo's on your account πŸ˜πŸ˜†πŸ˜‰
  3. Just looked on eBay and there are some mitutoyo calipers for Β£80 and some identical ones for Β£30.... That's a huge difference. I checked Avery Night and Bowlers site and they have some for Β£20 which look like mine but I'm sure they were way more than that when I bought mine 20 years ago
  4. I'm not sure what make they are but I bought them in Avery Night and Bowlers in Bath. I've still got the plastic case they came with and nothing on the box to tell me what make they are. They shouldn't drain themselves then. Apart from that they've been flawless....
  5. I've had mine probaly 20 years and they've always drained the battery if I leave them in.. After everytime I use them I take the battery out as i got fed up with getting new ones. Do all digital calipers do this.... Why do they do this...
  6. That's the longest rabbit kill I've heard of πŸ˜³πŸ˜‹πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
  7. I would of had this too but I can't be bothered to re-adjust all my dies πŸ™„
  8. I just checked my 6.5x47 bal cal figures and my 27 inch pac-nor 8 twist with 20 moa rail come up from 100yds zero is 29 minutes at 59 degrees with 41grs of RS62 behind a 139gr scenar. Velocity approximately 2820fps. Also I looked on accurate shooter in cartridges and it shows 37.5grs of Varget pushing a 140gr hybrid 2790fps. Something is adrift there with those figures. 2950fps would be around 26 minutes of elevation at 1000yds
  9. Like I said spud only gets them made to order and as far as I am aware there not a stock item.
  10. The custom 1.5 thousandths neck tension mandrels work like a dream. I ordered my 6.5 cal at 2 thousanths neck tension as it's for a repeater with an Γ€I mag. I single feed my f open rifle though it is a repeater. I chased my 6.5 cal custom ground expander mandrel i ordered with spud and he is expecting a K&M delivery this week. It's about a 6 week turnaround as they are made to order
  11. Hi Terry. I've just changed to custom expander mandrels. With my bushing dies I've opted to use a smaller bushing so the custom expander mandrel has to work a little more so I get more consistant neck tension. I use the K&M mandrel holder and custom expander with 1.5 thousandths neck tension.they seat as smΓ²oth as silk and I've no inconsistencies in neck tension from small variations from neck turning where the cutter and pilot got hot. I was a bit unsure if the K&M mandrel holder and custom expander mandrel would cause runout. To be honest I've not got the kit to check it but I have tried some loads and had some superb results, one of the lots of ammo I tested after using the custom ground mandrels I posted a photo of a 5 shot group I shot using this system thats on the creedmoor pierced primer thread. Spud will order what you need, there on his website if you want to you can place the order on line. Look up the K&M kit and you'll find it. There are alternative custom mandrels and holders, one do one with a rubber bushing thing so the mandrel free float so it so say self centres, I just left a bit of slack in my K&M set up so it will self centre as it has no rubber free floating thingy. Hope this helps Atb No I deer
  12. I am hoping I will do better next time,it was nice to find another brand that shoots
  13. To stablize what bullet....? My 1 in 9 twist f open barrel shoots the 184gr Berger hybrids superbly.....
  14. Doh I forgot the twist rate lol. It's a 1 in 9 but I'm not sure on the freebore but I would guestimate around 0.188 Grant Taylor chambered it for the previous owner so maybe he could help you on that....! It shot the 162's and 180gr scenar l's great when I tried some. I have got the loads written down.i used N165 and H1000 before I had an f open barrel screwed on in its place. Atb No I deer
  15. Selling this benchmark barrel. It has a tight neck 0.313nk It's 27 inches long, 0.785 at the shoulder of the muzzle thread, round count approximately 350, it shot the 162gr amax superbly. It's threaded 5/8ths x 18 or 24 It's was fitted to a Borden timberline action, I don't think I will use it again. Β£325 including RFD transfer
  16. Thought I would try the CCI subsonic 22 LR HP in my CZ452. They shot ok and just about better than anything I've tried bar the 42gr winnie subs. Light was fading so It was only a quick test,I will try them again shortly 5 shot group at 55yds. Great line just a little verticle.
  17. I remember the lethal weapon film where Mel Gibson shot the smiley face 😁
  18. Just get a bolt gun πŸ˜‰ One of today's test 5 shot groups with my 7mm saum with 184gr hybrids πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ˜‰
  19. πŸ˜΄πŸ˜‰πŸ˜πŸŒπŸ˜‚πŸ˜†
  20. So why go with the creedmoor when the 6.5x47 out performs it....
