Good for you Pete,
I too had to work 🙄 .
I get up there quite often these days but all my shooting is mainly club comps, 100 miles each way is a long way for a plinking session, if I lived closer I would do my load work there for sure.
What disciplines do you intend using the rifle for or Is it just a extreme long range plinker.
Do you intend doing any comps with it..?
What extreme range comps are there besides the recent Gardiners range I glimpsed somewhere a couple of weeks ago.
Hi all.
I forgot I had these items.
A 2 inch sunshade
1 rubber eye piece type screw in lens protector
1 objective screw in lens protector.
£45 inc the postage
Fun is what it's all about.i know quite a few shooters who have the bigger more capable calibre rifles yet they choose to do it with a less capable calibre.
Bigger is not necessarily better apparently ?
There's is Alot of 223 owners on here.i am surprised this thread hasn't been inundated with replies.ive nearly got one a few times but everytime opted for the bigger cals.my smaller calibre of choice for next rebarrel would be a 6mm br.i watched a mate shooting his today and its incredibly accurate at 300yds.he fired about 30 shots at the 300yds f open size target and he had about 25 vbulls and five 5's.vbull is 1.5 inches.they don't call him Justin credible for nothing ?.the wind probaly blew most of them back on target ?.It's a nice soft shooter too.it will be equally at home at 600yds too.
At 600yds f class vbull is 0.5 moa which is 3 inches.the 4 ring has gotta be about 10 inches.
At 300yds it too is 0.5 moa.1.5 inch vbull.ive never owned a 223 but from what I've read and heard about this cartridge at 600yds is too far and with the heavies in a fast twist barrel it's just about possible.its about knowing your limits I guess.having a 20 inch barrel really makes it hard going so.dont beat yourself up.there is Alot of things to learn...!
Plenty of knowledge on ukv
Hi all.
Selling 28 inch 1 on 9 benchmark sporting barrel with flattened stainless finish which was replaced with an f class profile barrel.i was keeping it just incase but I've now decided to let it go.
It's done around 300 shots mainly with N165 and H1000.
It's threaded 5/8ths x 24.it shot very very well.load developed data can be provided.
It was fitted to a Borden timberline action.
£300 inc transfer.
Buyer must have this calibre on there FAC
Thanks for looking
No I deer
You won't get 3000fps from your 28 inch barrel with the bullet seated so deep.get it throated for the scenars or forget the ideal with N165. I doesn't sound like RS70 will either due to the same reason.
Shooting at bisley yesterday in f open in approximately 80 odd degrees my.bal cal said my 180gr hybrid load was doing over 3100fps.30 inch tube.about 9 moa.i can't remember exactly what I had dialled in.it was roasting hot there.there was a CSR match going on too.
I expect your local has got 100'000 in stock and needs to move them on.i find it strange that it seem most cz452 and alike owners find the old eleys subs shot best and new ones are poo.
I will have to try some of these CCI subs.i like the look of them groups.the best I've used since the eley subs went crap in my cz450 is winny 42gr subs.best of a bad bunch
In excess of 2800fps on.56.5grs of N165. If you wanna use RS60 it will do over 2900fps on 52grs out of a 26 inch tube.great accuracy double based powder.i never chronied RS60 load on a warm day.it will be dapping along ?
57grs of N165 pushed the 162gr amaxs about 2950fps from a 26 inch barrel on a warm day going by what my bal cal tells me from entering the correct weather condition when it was zeroed.i chronied them at 2860fps in the cool winter temps.it shoots like a laser out to 600yds and tried a few at 1000yds that were ??.I use 180gr hybrids and 180gr scenar l's for shooting paper.
