  1. Guys, As i mentioned below in "division of funds" im soon to get a new 6.5cm for all round target shooting 100m to 1000m+. Now rather limiting my choice is I really dont like the look of tactical rifles, I do however like wood. Looking round it seems i have a couple of options for a wooden (Liminate is ok) stock. One is a Hunter type stock, Ive seen a couple of Howa actions in GRS stocks, or a pure target/F class type stock ,the Sabatti TLD gold for instance. My question is which design of stock do you think would be the best allrounder? Can you shoot McQueens with the Sabatti or 1000m with a GRS hunter? or if as I hope, my lack of talent will be an issue before the rifle design at any discpline.
  2. Guys Im not a journalist but ive spent 40 odd years working in Newspapers and TV all over the world and compared to some we have a pretty free and impartial press!
  3. Oooh... Fender.... Strat, Tele or other?

  6. Afraid I cant PM but id be interested in any scope that remains.
  7. I do know what you mean but time stands still for no man. I used to do a lot of diving, started in the mid 70's, and the equipment in use now is unrecognisible from those days.
  8. Im afraid most bits of my body are well past there "best before" date!
  9. Guys we can shoot again i will have approximately £1000 to spend on a Scope and bipod for a new 6.5CM I intend to buy for recreational target shooting mostly at Bisley. How would you apportion the money between the scope and the bipod? (so I don't instantly want to upgade!)
  10. It worked for Barnes Wallis 🙂 (though not exactly on the flight path)
  11. Didnt know John personally, but Ive shot against (and lost to) Kevin in the past. Really sad news especially as he was a youngster compared to I.
  12. Is it to late to send her back for a refund? 🙂
  13. >>Best ( for me ) Gucci - Kelbly NYX Never heard of it till 5 mins aago, now after a quick google, I want one.
  14. Marginally off topic maybe but have you seen this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcnunlqzjE8 a 22LR @1000m !
  15. Cheers, Land is cleared for Deer and Vermin ( and even the odd cormorant) shooting and i assume target shooting as well as he has a "zero range" the gamekeepers use . I'll see if I can get hold of the FEO and see what he says.
  16. Guys I have the standard conditions on my FAC for a target shooter. I also have a friend who owns several hundred acres of land and disused sand pits within walking distance of my house. I already do a bit of pigeon shooting on his land, but whats the procedure if i wanted to do accompanied target shooting in one of his old quarries.
  17. Cant shoot! ( Im a paper puncher) Cant reload, ( run out of primers) So Ive got myself a copy of Applied ballistics ( this was a p/ex) and have just ordered a copy of quickload. This lock down better end before I get onto the March, NF or S&B websites!
  18. Funnily enough "Gary in Chicago" had a copy of the Applied Balistics book I was after, and I should "reach out to him" I didn't!
  19. Now thats an idea. Used to have one fitted in an old Wrangler long before the days of PMR.
  20. I shoot the Olympic trap, comtetition costs vary but but I never paid more that £80 I think (100/125+clays.) A set of traps ( 15 for OT) will run around £50K
  21. What was the issue with the MTR? Ive had one for about a year now with no problems other than I wish it had an adjustable comb, hence I do fancy the stock on the LRP. I wonder if it will be avaialable without the action?
  22. Bisley now closed. https://nra.org.uk/coronavirus-update-23rd-march-2020/
