Ive been firing low end factory .223 Ammo from Magtech PPU GGG etc and Ive saved the cases. Im now ready to move DIY ammo but should I use the saved cases or buy some nice new shiny big name ones?

>I think you have had bad markers in the past. Have you only had NRA markers? Im afraid so, they have ranged from Ok to abismal. However the thing I really like about the electronics is the extra info you can get, speed and group size. Plus its simple to take a picture of the group. I understand you have vested interest in manual targets but they do seem a bit of an anachronism to me these days.

Sorry but one thing the new system at Bisley has shown is how much i much prefer the electronic version. Im sure there is still a place for manual targets, but for what i need electronics are perfect, the only downside is the ammount of Ammo im using with no message 4's 🙂

Only points Id make is you're been tracked already, CCTV camera's ANPR camera's Cookies, GCHQ etc... so i wouldnt let one app bother you. and also If I needed a marker at Bisley and I could choose between one who had the Ap and one who didnt I know who I'd choose,.

.223 @ 600yards.

15.1MOA... However I was shooting Magtech 55g cooking ammo and I do wonder if the printed BC of .272 is a trifle optomistic. If it was say .24 then that makes very little difference at 300Y but a big difference at 600y (subsonic @600) Should also say i aimed the last shot deliberately high, so i think the issue was speed rather than aim. -
I tried to take my M55 .223 out to 600 yeards today at Bisley. According to Strelok my 55g bullet should still have been supersonic (1375 f/s) but I tried 3 times and couldnt get any shots to register on the electronic boards. Strelok was bang on with its vert calc with the .223 @ 300yards and there was very little wind this morning, I did wonder if the scope had moved so checked the rilfe back at the Zero range but it was fine. Was i just unluckly or getting to the point where the bullet could have started tumbling?

Ok.. So I shot the 300m electonic targets at Bisley on Saturday and was very impressed, they worked faultlessly as far as I could tell, lighting fast to respond and seemed acurate to me. However I cant help but feel i could be getting even more out of them, I havnt got a chrono yet, so it it worth recording the speed info for ever shot and use that to estimate mussle velocity for instance? Any other drills you can practice with them? (As a clay shooter i have a few practice routines i regularly use)

Limited re opening of Bisley from 23rd/24th of May

Very pleasent this AM, only 4 of us @ 300yards, from 8:30am The electronic shotmarker system worked perfectly and was easy to use with the tablet. Very well organised. The 9.30 slot seemed nearly full as did the 600 yard positions. the only thing that could do with a bit of improvment IMO is the one-way system! -
As i need the cabinet space more than the rifle Im selling my 10/22, Its in a Ram Line folding stock and has a Butler Creek 25 shot mag. I'm in Surrey and at Bisley most weekends, ( When its open and always first thing) I also may be able to leave it with my Bisley club to be collected at your lesuire once normality returns. £100

Ive got an hour booked on the Electronics at Bisley this week-end at 300m . After I've shot away a days wages with the 6.5CM & .223 I was thinking it might be entertaining to try the .22LR however ive got a couple of worries. 1: Will the electronic target register a rimfire round? 2: Is it bad form to even try. as the chance of me hitting a working bit of the target is increased. ( it its windy I woudn't consider itrying it) cheers Martin

Id like to get myself a chrono, but having used the shoot through the tunnel type one with air rilfes I really dont fancy that type. I think that leaves me the Magnetospeed or the Labradar. The Labradar looks expenisve , but the Magnetospeed sporter seems to fit the bill, are there any other I should be considering? cheers Martin

I shot Olympic trap there this morning, and that was well organised, the clay layouts have been repainted and had new grass sown. They were only letting two people shoot on a layout at a time, not because of the 2 meter rule, but because of the only meeting one person rule IYSWIM. Oh and yes it was Windy! -

Issues with offset rifle scopes?
martin_b replied to That bald headed Geordie's topic in General Discussion
Ive had PVD's in both eyes, one caused a detached retina in my left eye. In my case the sight return to normal pretty quickly....( till the cateracts came along 🙂 ) PS: Dont fret about the Cateracts mine were certainly helped along by a history of having to take Maxidex for chronic Iritis. -
At least this guy asked you to Reach out ( God i hate that phrase) to some one local, though Im still not convinced its not a robot, you can do some pretty clever things with AI now? If you want to run a test put in a wanted add for a "Unicorn and a Dodo" and lets see if anyone in America has a pair! Actually something like a SMLE MK XII might be a better test. t

If you're interestd in the Maths of this then try Elements of Exterior Ballistics by George Klimi. Its very maths heavy though, lots of inverse trig funcions and even an entire chaper on the differential equations of exterior Ballistics. -
Gents can i make a suggestion that the wanted topic is set to hidden till youre a member with at least a couple of posts. Every time i place a wanted ad i get messages like this back. 'Hi you can reach out to Steven in Texas he has the mil scope and rings for sale this is his email address stevenmath298@gmail.com good luck' The message was posted by someone who joined 20mins before sending the message, and id bet my bottom dollar is a robot somewhere, just a thought.
