  1. It’s a GRS Bolthorn, bought 2nd hand off here. In hindsight, not the most versatile chassis on the market.
  2. I’m not sure it’s possible on the chassis I have. Nowhere to fix it on the underside, just a 3 inch pic rail up front, which thinking about it, is probably too far forward from the point of balance.
  3. Prone shooting is becoming a pain in the neck after a few minutes and wondered how’s best to go from a rail on the underside of the stock to my old Manfrotto tripod, or maybe a lighter upgrade, the Innorel tripod seems light and good value. Or is a monkey clamp an easier option? This is all new to me. thanks
  4. The 95gr TMKs are notoriously difficult to get to shoot, pity as the TMK in other calibres seem to work well.
  5. Inconsistent head position, would be my guess. I’ve not been shooting for that long and still get horizontal stringing if I’m not concentrating 100%.
  6. Im considering a factory Tikka T3 Varmint and was thinking to shoot the 87gr Vmax, of which I have a fair few. I believe it’s a 1:10 twist, which should stabilise this bullet and I’m looking for some real world experience. Which powder would be optimum, I have a few kg of N150 which ideally I’d like to use, but I can find other Vhit powders locally as well as RS Swiss. Also which primer performs best in this chambering? Thanks
  7. Thank you. I have to weigh up barrel life, a used .243 will probably need a rebarrel after a 1000 rounds, whereas a new 6br barrel should last 2.5-3000 rounds. I think I’ve talked myself into another 6br. Cheers
  8. Contact Rickosf on here, he has some Tier One ringsets at good prices. You can’t go wrong with them.
  9. Anybody using this chassis and your thoughts on it? Thanks
  10. Do you stock a cheek raiser for the MDT AR type buttstock? Thanks
  11. GRS and Joe West make a stock for the 595, not sure whether the 695 has the same footprint.
  12. I’ve been in the same boat with a couple of different actions, the T3 is the way to go. Just have to bite the bullet and start again.
  13. I’ll be dropping it into a chassis and fitting a Timney trigger. It’s mostly for informal target/plinking and long range rabbits and geese, so accuracy is most important, more than just MOA. A custom barrel fitted by a skilled smith could guarantee exceptional accuracy, could a heavy barreled factory Tikka?
