  1. That is indeed a good read, thanks. That review was from a few years ago,I imagine they must have ironed out a few of those issues by now,but I’m struggling to find any recent feedback on them. That Vortex is looking more tempting. Anyone any experience with the Athlon Midas, that’s in the for sale section?
  2. Thanks,Pete. I called OW this afternoon, they agreed, the Vortex is great value, but in his opinion the Rudolph V1 had better quality glass and sells for only £350. I’m crap at making decisions, long shot, but has anyone had a look through the Rudolph? Although with that name, they’ll never catch on. Maybe they’d send me one of each and I can review them
  3. I’m on a limited budget and looking for any reviews/opinions on a cheap, dialable scope,in the 5-25 mag range. I’ve been looking at the Athlon scopes and also the Rudolph V1 5-25. My limit is around £300-£350. Is it possible to get anything half decent for that money? SFP would be my preference, but glass quality and tracking are more important. thanks
  4. That’s great feedback Mark, thanks. I have a pm11,so can appreciate the comparison. Just what I was looking for. Cheers
  5. Great to see the youngsters getting involved in shooting. Wish I could get my kids interested, bar a bit of plinking with my .22 semi. It does seem as though the lasses have a natural ability, when it comes to target shooting.
  6. I’ve heard a few good things about Tract scopes,I’ll do a bit of research. Thanks
  7. Has anyone used any of the Minox ZP range? Some reviews were comparing them to some of the best Euro glass with nice turrets also.
  8. Well done,Optilocks screws are infamous, but mainly the ring screws. Think they’ve improved them recently.
  9. I’m selling my Tohnichi torque screwdriver. It’s like new, boxed with paperwork and calibration certificate. 100-500 cnm £75 posted
  10. I sent mine back through SGC and it took around 6weeks. The objective lens was damaged and not covered through the warranty, but the charge was reasonable and well worth it. They also replaced the turrets FOC. SGC will deal with any issues regarding import. I’d heard some less than positive reviews about them, but in this case I found them hard to fault.
  11. I think the Kahles is the better scope, all round. Optical quality, turrets and reticle choice.
  12. I assume you’re going to re barrel in the more popular 6br Norma, so get a 6br Norma die set. Redding or Forster are good.
  13. Which actions are an exact clone, in every dimension,to the Remington 700. I’m interested in fitting one to an aluminium chassis, with no or minimal work,or would I be better to just settle for a Remington?
  14. Has anybody had a chance to directly compare the above chassis systems,or own/shoot one or other? I appreciate what may suit one person may not suit another, but any feedback would be helpful, re ergonomics, build quality and style. Thanks
  15. I’ve not seen or handled any of the stocks mentioned and I’m only considering the MDT and the XLR,the Tikka comparison was only thrown in there as in the internet photos it does look nice and it may be of interest to a guy on the forum, who’s thinking to buy a new Tikka tac 6.5cm and pull the barrel to replace it with a 6br.
  16. Just out of interest, has anyone had the chance to compare the Tikka tac chassis to the likes of MDT ESS, or XLR chassis systems? I’m also interested in a comparison between the MDT ESS and the XLR Evolution, regarding build quality and ergonomics. Thanks
  17. Riflescope expert UK(Optics Trade EU?) compared the Terminator to the big PM2 and were surprised how poorly it stood up,especially in regards to its optical quality. Do these professional reviewers have a vested interest?,maybe,so probably best to listen to those who have owned and used one for a while,as they are best placed to offer advice. What does surprise me is the varied opinion of these scopes, for some it’s the best they’ve looked through and others are very critical. Is it personal,or is there a variation in quality. If you’re still undecided, there’s a lot of other good scopes out there....
