  1. Has anybody had a chance to directly compare the above chassis systems,or own/shoot one or other? I appreciate what may suit one person may not suit another, but any feedback would be helpful, re ergonomics, build quality and style. Thanks
  2. I’ve not seen or handled any of the stocks mentioned and I’m only considering the MDT and the XLR,the Tikka comparison was only thrown in there as in the internet photos it does look nice and it may be of interest to a guy on the forum, who’s thinking to buy a new Tikka tac 6.5cm and pull the barrel to replace it with a 6br.
  3. Just out of interest, has anyone had the chance to compare the Tikka tac chassis to the likes of MDT ESS, or XLR chassis systems? I’m also interested in a comparison between the MDT ESS and the XLR Evolution, regarding build quality and ergonomics. Thanks
  4. It’s a long drive for you,but I also would have a word with Richard Utting,he’s a really nice guy and he knows his stuff.
  5. Riflescope expert UK(Optics Trade EU?) compared the Terminator to the big PM2 and were surprised how poorly it stood up,especially in regards to its optical quality. Do these professional reviewers have a vested interest?,maybe,so probably best to listen to those who have owned and used one for a while,as they are best placed to offer advice. What does surprise me is the varied opinion of these scopes, for some it’s the best they’ve looked through and others are very critical. Is it personal,or is there a variation in quality. If you’re still undecided, there’s a lot of other good scopes out there....
  6. I would read as many reviews as you can find,I’m not sure whether they vary in quality, but some report of mushy turrets, slightly disappointing optics and the lack of a true zero stop. Still tempting all the same.
  7. To my eyes the glass on the pm2 is better, but I prefer the eye box on the Razor. The turrets on the pm2 are good,it has 1/8 adjustments and positive clicks, but I do find myself going past and having to click one back, doesn’t happen on the Razor, which as you say are one of the best designs out there and I like the low, wide turrets with lots of elevation per turn. I like the huge mag on the pm2 and I rarely go below 25x,mirage not a problem here, and often shoot on 50x. I do prefer 2nd over 1st focal plane and though the open ret means you don’t obscure the POA, it’s not ideal for targets, but it feels bombproof, sturdier than the Schmidt, but it feels half as heavy again.
  8. I bought it for my 6br,but replaced it with a 12-50 pm2,from a UKV member. I have a .204,which is more of a walkabout rifle, which is a heavy barrelled Sako in a laminate stock, heavy enough on its own, with the Razor it’s just too heavy and tbh,I’m not a fan of the open ret on the Razor,I’ve always liked a floating dot. But, I think the turrets are on par with the Kahles and the best I’ve used, the optical clarity is great,I even like the colour.... I shan’t drop the price any further, so may not be a missed opportunity after all. Sean,I I would pick the Razor turrets over the S&B,but do you consider it optically superior?
  9. Vortex Razor in near mint condition,Tier One mounts,Vortex lens caps and sunshade, now £1650

  11. I was very interested in buying one for a while, read a few good reviews and was convinced this was the scope for me.Then I came across a review comparing it to the big pm2 and it wasn’t even close. The reviewers were especially disappointed in the glass quality, which was what had attracted me in the first place. I did speak to a guy at Opticswarehouse who pointed out that it was worth spending a bit of time setting up the eyepiece/diopter to get the best out of it. When you say “playing with”,have you bought it or borrowed it to try out? If you can give it back, try out the big Schmidt ,you won’t be disappointed. Im sure there’s videos online that explain the zero stop on the IOR. GOOD LUCK
  12. I’m selling my Vortex Razor with EBR-2C reticle,MOA adjustments. vortex flip up covers and sunshade Excellent condition. New price of £1525 not including mounts
  13. If the Tier One mounts are in good condition,I'll take them. Cheers
