7mm/.284 Win Hornady 180gr ELD Match or Lapua 180gr Scenar-L
Elwood replied to hattori.hanzo's topic in Target and F-Class
You have a older batch of 180 L's, you would be hard pushed to see the difference in meplat between them and Berger 180 Hybrids or VLD with the newer Scenar 180 L's. I did a test with pointing the older 180 L's, with very pointed, normally pointed and not pointed. I shot them at 1000 yards and there wasn't any difference in the point of impact. -
Nice test, thank you. Luckily I already have the XTL.

Don't go anywhere near 68 or even 66 grains. The go to formula for the 7/270 WSM and a 180 gr projectile was 65-65.5 grains of N165. Reloader 23 is considerably faster than N165 so you will probably be over pressure.

I would have the flag and see if it tells the truth, rather than never know. -

Any info from people using the T ceptor Pro 55-6 thermal
Elwood replied to Richiew's topic in Riflescopes & NV
I had a look through a T Ceptor about a week ago, I was totally blown away by it, amazing detail. Admittedly it was only put against a couple of early Pulsar spotters and a new Iray spotter which was actually very good, but in my opinion the T Ceptor left them all for dead (which it should). I was also very supprised by the small size of it . I've read a lot about people going back to digital and tubed night vision after not being able to get good target recognition with thermal rifle scopes, so I have been some what skeptical about such scopes, not anymore. There's a heavy price and regrettably it's to much for my pocket, but Im glad I looked through one. -

All good info here, but lets keep it civil please. I'm really not interested in he said, I said, he said, it will just get deleted. I think it's great to experiment and you can certainly learn a lot, like I did with the 6mm Crusader. Certainly a lot of work case forming but I enjoyed the learning process and the end result was amazing. However as others have said, there are probably better options for a small case cartridge, my two choices would be the 22BR or 20BR, there's plenty of load data, plenty of components and plenty of people with experience of the calibers.

I took advantage of a Black Friday deal and put my name down for one, so the above is hopefully good news.
