  1. Build quality and strength.. Longlivity. I have 2 centre fire mods. A Mk1 Ase Utra S5 I've had from new.. it's heavy being built like a tank. It's probaly seen near 10,000 shots over the years I've had it and it still looks like new inside looking with a teslong borescope.. I have a Jetz compact.. Bought 3rd hand that I know of.. It's had very little use by me..!! It's lighter.. maybe a tad quieter. Inside doesn't look like the S5 as it holds the carbon etc etc. Bits fall off if you tap it on a hard surface. I just can't see that there's a better mod than the Mk1 S5.. The Mk2 S5 is thinner material. It's lighter and more tinny. I don't care about a few extra ounces of weight.
  2. The loads I reseated were fine and no pressure signs. I found an amax load today that shot well going 2800fps on 41.5grs of RS62 from a 24 inch barrel. I tried a 139gr scenar load on 41grs of RS62 but didn't quite shoot well enough. Seating deeper is my next thing. Tried them jumping 10,15,20. RS60 load did 2840fps on 39gr. Tried them jumping 15 and they weren't great either
  3. The 7mm 180gr ELDM's like just touching.. I went to bisley for a practice session last Sunday shooting on the electronics at 1000yds. Between 2 of us in a morning and a afternoon session fired about 190 shots. I fired 73 x 184gr hybrids loads in my well worn barrel and I took 5 x 7mm saum cartridges loaded with the 180gr ELDM's and 2 out the 5 didn't register and theyre the only shots that didn't register all day.. we were hoping to see a blow up with our own eyes.. if they did it was further out than we were looking. I didn't see blow up through the scope.
  4. Thanks A. I may find out later as I've swapped my barrels around on my f open rifle aswell ready for next weekend's comp which will also needs zero check. Cheers NID
  5. Checked my new barrel chambering with the same bullets I was running in my old barrel and I found it was 18 to 20 thousanths shorter. To save any messing I've seated the ammo I had loaded at the shorter length ready for a new seating depth test. The loads were not near the the pressure but the new deeper seating may cause pressures signs..I will try a few and if there are I'll stop..
  6. I use it carefully on my cordless screwdriver to buff the chamber
  7. Stainless or chrome moly..? Is it rust or brass deposits from the cases. Does it look a bit spotty looking in through the breech or are you using a borecam to view it more clearly..? Every bore clean I use a 45 cal bisley bronze brush to keep the chambers clean.
  8. I've just checked by using packers I need 10mm above the top of the of the pic rail to the scope body and half of the scope is 15mm so to have about 1.5mm gap on the objective end so 25mm from the top of the rail too scope centre I think is medium rings. Can you tell what the high rings measure then please.. I think they will be 29mm and the gap is getting too big then.. Thanks for your inputs 👍
  9. I'd be happy to swap them for some TPS mediums. Trouble is I'm unsure if they will be high enough 🙄
  10. Mine are 8 or 9 years old. They been on the same rifle all the time.. 3 different scopes have been mounted in them.
  11. I don't know to be honest.. They were fitted when I had an armalon 308 rifle built. I can give you some measurements later. Rem varmint type profile barrel. 25 or 30 moa rail and the x low were fine with a 56mm sightron scope.. About 1mm clearance
  12. Selling the above rings. Ok condition £40 plus p&p Photo added.
  13. I've not seen a Roedale stock like your after for sell for quite sometime now.. I've been tempted in the past when I've seen one for sell.
  14. Mongo..!! Who asked you to cherp in you retard 😁. Somebody replied to the thread Saturday so why would I look to check the date.. I was just trying to be helpful 👍
  15. You can shoot out to 1200yds at Bisley on certain days.. No 338s though
  16. My rifles usually have a point of impact change about 1.5 inches at 100yds going from a muzzle brake to a mod and vice versa
