  1. Got some targets but I'm still out.. These 2 are eley match at 100yds.. Rather than adjusting the turrets I fired 1 shot using the 5th hash mark and I couldn't believe how central it was.. shame the rest didn't follow.. on the right-hand side group I used the 6th hash mark.. to bring the group up
  2. 50yds again. Might get to try 100yds later. I might have to get a higher mag scope just to see how well I can get them too shoot. The ammo making companies need to produce hollow point ammo to this capability.. I'd be happy to pay extra
  3. The high shot with the eley match was probaly shooter error. Really pleased with how they shoot. Worth the extra money 👍
  4. Went out this afternoon but it was bloody windy though where I was had a little shelter.. Tried the new eley hollow subs again.. more to just blow them off.. Poo as usual. Shot a few groups with the eley match (top group) Bottom groups eley subs
  5. It will shoot much better now 😉
  6. ðŸĪĢ😆 Come Rich write it so we can understand it ðŸĪŠ
  7. Only use 12 mag for plinking. Use it on 7 mag for hunting.. It's a good scope. I just fancied a change. ÂĢ75 inc postage
  8. Simmonds diamond mag 3.8-12x44. 1/4 moa clicks FFP. It shows signs of wear especially on the turret caps a I've had It from new over 20 odd years. Glass is unmarked. I paid 3 times this much for when i bought it.. It's never missed a beat. ÂĢ75 plus p&p.
  9. Not sure how many is left. 15 to 20.. enough for a 100yds test I bought one box of each to see how they went. Not likely to get around to trying them at 100yds until next weekend.. I'd like to try the others out at 100yds aswell especially the first 3 lots of ammo shot on the white discs on the dark background target. It might of been a lucky group as they were the not so good ones out the 4 types i used yesterday. Far right on the black n white target
  10. Been out again.. Not as cold but wet and still blowy. I didn't wanna lay down long to soak the wet so had a quick go with RWS match and I shot this.. I made a 1 click adjustments from yesterday's testing as the groups were just a tad right. It was worth getting damp for 😁
  11. Seems like its more of trial and error testing until you find the ammo it likes. I may try the barrel deresonator now I've got some better accuracy and see if I can improve it after ive retested in warmer calmer conditions
  12. Wonder what else eley changed on the making of that cartridge for it to go from the best 22lr sub to the worst ðŸĪ”
  13. Wow that's not good.. a money saving exercise.. I'd be surprised if the new eley subs shoot any good in any rifle. Have you got any other different brands you can pull and check on you A&D scales
  14. I was happier with my tactical change around and got a better target acquisition with the white disc on a dark background. I've used this way before and I'll probaly stick to this with my 22. Higher mag would get you a better accuracy potential but I think I would of killed what I was aiming at humainly.
  15. I've not checked the velocities but the Norma subs are ment to be doing 1017fps According to wording on the box.. Very quiet ammo that cycled nicely unlike the 42gr winnie subs that stick in the chamber.. Not sure at what temperature there stated speed would be doing.. All the target ammo I tested was quiet enough. Tried listening at the difference between the Norma and the eley match but I was probaly concentrating more on the accuracy.. More targets showing the eley club ammo. Most of it show a consistant poi. I think on a warmer less breezy day I could do a little better. I like the scope alot as I didn't wanna mess about focusing for hunting purposes.. Having a higher power scope and a side focus would of I think eliminated the black diamond in the middle of the target blurring.
  16. No photo of the RWS Club ammo as it was dreadful and worse than the 42gr winnie subs.. The Norma subs were good for line but verticle dispersion was not too good.. better than the 42gr winnie subs though.
  17. I've been out and tested some target ammo today.. Shot from 50yds prone. CZ452 with a 9 mag leupold rimfire scope. It's a little blowy today and bloody freezing.. I took some Norma subs which I've never tried before.. Used Harris bipod and rear bag. Used some Eley match and eley club. RWS club, match and special match.. Zeroed my new leupold rimfire scope with the 42gr winnie subs.. After some inconsistent results I tried a different approach as I suspected my eyes were at fault because I'm overdue a eye test and some glasses are needed as target was blurring 🙄. Old timers setting in ðŸ˜ą Anyway I thought I'd try aiming at white discs on a black back ground and I could focus and hold crosshair better. Left to right Eley match. Eley club RWS special match RWS match. I shot 2 groups of 5 shots with each. Top and bottom are the same ammo
  18. Amax's are great bullets and probaly more explosive than the nosler.. I used mainly 85gr nosler ballistic tips in the 25-06 I had and couldn't fault them. I did try the 120gr nosler ballistic tips in a 6.5-06 but I didn't get to shoot how I wanted so I gave up. It was probaly down to myself not using the right powder, primer combo etc. The 140gr amaxs shoot very well as they do in my 6.5x47 which bugholes and shoots amazingly well. One of my all time best loads
  19. Cohesion and a better strategy is needed rather than bitching amongst themselves. As already said a proper committee is needed and collective decisions made rather than individuals wanting to call the shots.. There has to be alot of groundwork done to have a chance of getting this to work..!! Good luck NID
  20. Ive shot at the javelin shoot and on F range at Sennybridge and the arcs of fire are very narrow but that was probaly down to being able to use 338's and 50 cal type calibres.. Military venues i imagine will be by far the best options for this type of shooting as these would have all the range templates already in place but would need modifying for this type of shooting and alot of planning and persuading to get the go head.. It could take years..!!
  21. Getting places to hold these events will likely to be the main stumbling block in getting up and running.. There seems to be alot of intrest in this type of shooting so it would be good to see it take off.. I'd have ago myself if I didn't have to travel too far to participate..
