  1. The trouble is there not subs If there not going subsonic and may have an advantage from the extra velocity ðŸĪŠðŸ˜. I tried 2 x 5 shot groups with sk standard plus at 100yds but it was a full value wind from R2L.. I have got the target but I didn't photograph it.. it was a shotgun pattern being about 2 inches on the first group and maybe a little less on the second group.. As a fair comparrison I tried 2 groups of eley match and they were about 1 inch and about 1 inch right of centre from the breeze blowing off line.. The second group I single feed and shot them but the conditions probaly didn't help improve the group.. I was testing some ammo in my 7mm 270 and it shot quite stunning small groups so I know I was doing my bit today ðŸĪŠ
  2. I never take my bolts out only for cleaning lubing etc unless I go in home and not put rifles away strait away.. I take the bolt/bolts out and put them in my pocket or holster and when I put them away I decock them.. People have a tendency to forget the bolts when they go out shooting not being kept in the rifle.. Triggersqueezer did that very thing this morning ðŸĪŠ
  3. Nice style but I'd have to spray it green.. I'm not into wooden stocks 😁. I do want one of the CZ457 long range 22's I need one 😁
  4. Very Gucci ðŸĪĐ I shoot f class with Mik.. The CZ 457 LR on them videos sounded very appealing with the 20 inch barrel.. I don't want a long barrelled 22lr. How much would that 22 Mik built cost.... Shame your testing was interrupted 🙄
  5. I just watched some videos on the CZ 457 lr 22 rimfire and it sounds great.. Go on the sportsman guncentre website.. In to the gun and scroll down to see the 3 videos.. It looks to be the dogs dangleys
  6. The Annie's shoot really well..!! Probaly one of the most accurate
  7. I've used mini mags in the gallery at bisley with a 10/22 but it's all standing, sitting and kneeling type shooting so accuracy isn't great as you could imagine.. I think I used some yellow jackets years ago a mate gave me.. I can't really remember what they were like
  8. A good start.. I'd just use them if my rifle shot them that well.. What mag are you using.. Try a group at 100yds for me on 9 magnification and see if you can do better or worse thanks did..
  9. I've had many occasions were I tried to test some CF ammo at 100yds and the miraging was too bad.. Gave up as I should of known better ðŸĪĢ
  10. Looking forward to seeing the results.. I do a fair bit of range shooting these days and the excuses everybody comes out with can be very amusing and entertaining to say the least 😆ðŸĪĢ. There will be legitimate excuses like the picattiny rail has come loose or the scope has stopped dialing. In the main very poor excuses ðŸĪĐ
  11. Ammo selection, conditions technique and practice helps. I've tried and tried with hollow point subs for 20 odd years and use to have great results with eley hollows until eley change something. Basically match grade ammo just blows the hollow points out of the water. Testing from a bench would be ideal.. It's killing accuracy we need.. We don't wannabe wounding our quarry.. How far we want to shoot makes the difference.. Accuracy out to 100yds with subs would be perfect.. I'm not into HV hollow points.. Tried stingers years ago and they were a pile of poo.
  12. I was surprised how few people replied to this thread seeing the humble 22 rimfire is probaly the most popular calibre ðŸĪ”. Don't be shy 😉
  13. Yes the cartridge does come out of the mag too the chamber on a steepish angle. I'm definately going to try some single loading groups
  14. Thanks. It's not something that occurred to me.. Intrested to see if single loading them reduces the group size 😎. Ah bullets rubbing together being cycled so damage to the bullet can occur top and bottom in the mag.. The bullet being fired launched through the barrel being cut by the grooves damage the bullet but on the bearing surface not the tip to the ogive.. a scuff could affect it's ballistic coefficiency.
  15. That's strange... Is the 26 inch barrel getting more performance out of them ðŸĪ”. I did think that all the powder is burnt way before it leaves a shorter barrel so it sounds like you have a dodgy batch.. I wish the eley subs would shoot in mine. I'd be happy with using any of the hollow point subs if they can nearly match the Eley match.
  16. What's the theory on this... Are you saying extracting the case marks the bullet in the mag next in line to be chambered...??
  17. I'd have a good go 😁. My accuracy expectations would be higher shooting benchrest than trying to shoot small off a pod with a 9 mag hunting scope
  18. I use a 10 shot mag. Load up 5 each time or how many I intend to shoot in the group..
  19. I have noticed that but did nothing about it.. 42gr winnie subs are like that.. I didn't notice that about the Norma subs but they probaly were. I will try a few groups like that 👍
  20. Shooting the 22 is challenging unless your shooting a benchrest rifle. Looking at the accurate shooter write-up 0.455 was the best 5 x 5 shot group average at 100yds with that rifle so off the bipod we're doing ok shooting 0.6/0.7 groups. My average over 6 groups was 1.033 oai. It looked to be 1 shot out of each group that opened It up 🙄. Keeps interesting and you trying.. As the lockdown eases we will be resuming f class shooting out to 1200yds again.. Looking forward to it ðŸĪĐ
  21. Came across this on accurate shooter.. a fancy bells and whistles rifle benchrested in what looks a tunnel range. 55 different brands of ammo tested and over 4000 shots fired.. 5 x 5 shot groups at each range. Eley match did well on all 3 disrances and was top at 100yds..
