  1. Hi there noticed in the pics a WIEBAD cheek rest thing . My ai has another type that is not very good and doesn’t seem to stick very well. How do you like the one fitted on yours . cheers Rich
  2. Cracking looking rifle there btw
  3. I’m in the same boat with eyes, I’ve got everything adjusted to shoot without glasses and have a pair of safety glasses that are clear at the top and have a +2.5 small area at the bottom to read the turrets. This works as my long vision is nt too bad only need +0.5, close reading is my downfall. Got an mdt digital LED level that shows my cant in peripheral vision. Can’t see bubble levels very well. Otherwise it s use normal glasses but look over the top of the glass for shots. Hope this makes sense and maybe helps ??
  4. Done the thermal route and had digital and as sinead o Conner sang nothing compares to drone pro . Bought high end thermal £5k+ and it’s still a hot blob . Stick with a thermal spotter and a good digital scope with a good IR
  5. Form fully adjustable cheek and stock length. Black laminate thumbhole. Very nice with tikka t3x varmint 223 . It did require some work with a surform tool to remove some wood at the rear of the stock where the bolt on full rearward pull was catching. Otherwise it s very comfy and the standard tikka mags fit . Didn’t want to go chassis system as I’d have to go AI magazine s just something to be aware of.
  6. https://www.militarymart.co.uk/products/swedish-army-lk35-rucksack these are great for carrying rabbits . Really cheap and very strong just use a bin liner inside to keep it clean . Depends on state of used gear but 35-45£
  7. Sorry messed up the post but I use the above for years and find the side pocket s useful for water bottles or flask and waterproof trousers keeping the inner bit dry for spare clothes , cakes , picnic box etc . Very comfy on the back and doesn’t make you too sweaty. 35 litre means you can get your shooting jacket in there when it’s a bit warmer and most of your range gear too . Good luck with your search
  8. At my last renewal I added a 223 to my fac and got the 308 changed from target only to target and any other legal quarry. My reasoning was that I’d like to shoot any deer the farmer wanted controlling but didn’t want to buy more rifles ie 243 . After a short chat my firearm s officer was happy with the idea and was happy about my understanding of backdrops etc with the larger than standard deer calibre . He was pleased with the overall outcome of not having more guns in my safe and for the 308 to be used for multiple purposes. As said above honesty is the best policy and the Feo lads are very easy to talk to as long as the reasoning is sound . cheers
  9. My boot scootin baby is driving me crazy ???? . stainless isn’t always rust free like kitchen knives which stick to a magnetic holder . True stainless isn’t magnetic,( 316 grade ) . So probably best to dry them out .
  10. Next height up would allow scope covers to be fitted? . I only use front cover with my drops taped to it . I’ve fitted a picatinny rail to the 17 hmr and used same size mounts so have a 1/2” gap to the barrel but I just put all the details into StrelokPro and print off a card with the reticle info . Hope alls gone to plan today . cheers
  11. Hope it all works out good. A good strong pull on the bolt should eject the cases past the turret , or a slow pull and finger the case out ?? Whatever is your preference . cheers
  12. If the eye relief is good for you I’d stick with what you’ve got. Just make sure the cases eject ok . Or as I do pick them out individually and put them in a pocket so the farmer doesn’t get upset that his sheep might ingest some metal . Anything for an easy stress free time .
  13. Spuhr do a hunting range of mounts but they will be more cash than sportsmatch.
  14. 30 mm I think according to the web page . I know it’s on a hw100 but I left the rings as they were on the .22 lr so basically the gap between the rings fits across the ejection port .
  15. This is what I needed to fit my anschutz . Hawke 6-24x56 . 16.5” or 42 cms overall length. Otherwise the eye piece would not be at trigger end of the thumbhole.
  16. 30mm Diameter Body Tube Medium Range For 15mm and 17mm dovetails up to 50mm lens diameter (on most rifles) Includes removable arrestor pin. PLEASE NOTE SUITABLE 15MM DOVETAILS E.G. CZ527 & TIKKA T3 WILL MEASURE APPROXIMATELY 17MM AT THE WIDEST POINT (TOP). SUITABLE 17MM DOVETAILS E.G. CZ550 & CZ557 WILL MEASURE APPOXIMATELY 19MM AT THE WIDEST POINT (TOP) A B C Dimensions Explained. Sportsmatch mounts
  17. I’ve only had misfires with eley subs . The 40 grain ones were 38 g actual and the newer box ones are 36 g . Weight s measured on pulled bullets on an AanD fx 120 . Using up old stock then sticking with rws or Winchester subs no misfire s with these . Cheers all
  18. At the moment I’d settle for whatever is available. Stocked up a while back with cci and federal so should be good for the new year.
  19. Don’t know about your calibre but in my 308 I’m plus two grains over Vihtavuori max for my bullets of choice and am not near what Berger quote as their speeds . Hornady book is much closer to my loads but I’m still not in their superformance speeds . There are articles hinting at loading to compressed/ slight crunch then backing off a bit . Tried that and got a good load at 44.5 n150 178 eldm. No pressure signs and all worked great. In the 223 I’m half a grain lower than viht max as at max it’s a Big Crunch with pressure signs with the 60 grain Berger but the 73and 75 can be loaded to max fine , I’ve loaded a little lower to account for hot days and changed to magnum primers. Happy new year to all and Hope this was useful, I’m sure there will be lots of comments
  20. Anschutz round firing pin hits just inside the edge of the rim. Eley and Winchester subs
  21. Make sure you’re cleaning the firing pin hole too . My anschutz gets dirty in there then has a few light strikes. One of them brass brushes helps . Then a tiny little bit of oil on your finger wiped on the pin shaft only . good luck
  22. Good to know thanks . Had quite a few foxes since august all falling to 75 g eldms although they do work best when they’ve hit bone . Keeps farmer happy. cheers
  23. I’ve used the 6-24x56 hawke and was very happy until I tried first focal scopes and put a sticker of the drops from StrelokPro onto the front flip up cover . only negative of the 6-24 is they’re very long about 17” and needed an offset front ring sports match set to ensure the scope fits correctly on an anschutz rifle which are rather short stocks . A shorter scope around 13-14” fits nicely. Mostly running magnification at 12-14 power cheers
  24. https://www.mcqueentargets.com/products/ think it’ll be these people . Web page isn’t great so best to ring them
