  1. Fiocchi large primers are what I’ve been using for the last 3 years with no bother at all . They came in trays of 150 so a brick of them was 1500 primers for less than the federal 1000 equivalent cost . The way things are going buy what you can . Cheers
  2. The A-TEC Marksman looks good and not too expensive. Designed to fit the AI brake with its left hand thread , available at sporting services. Might be worth a look. Cheers ps I’ve got the AI Mod and it’s very quiet compared to the 17 hmr and the 223 . Lovely looking rifle shooter 762 , colour too .
  3. Lapua 77 g 223 Scenar loaded at 24g of N540 worked well but tonight they’re slightly cratered primers , hot weather?? . Drop a bit of powder or load a little longer ? . Any ideas . Cheers
  4. Any info on eley subs going crack . Missed lots of bunnies tonight and lots of shot’s went crack rather than phut. ??? Is it time to change to another type . Cheers
  5. Sporting services do a hoptic keymod quiver to fit the acc int keymod system so they will fit the side plates . 99£ for the side plates though for an AT.
  6. Got an idea I needed rather long bolts so could of been 100 mm . Fitted a BandT monopod and needed another size bolt . Had a bucket of various bolts from mr fastener from motorcycle days so everything worked out fine . Cheers
  7. Nice bit of gear there with some good accessories. My AT needs all the spacers to get a good fit so had to buy some longer Allen bolts. Have a great time with it . Cheers
  8. Probably only bump the neck 1 thou back to as near factory spec . Do the same every time then you ll know where your starting point is . Trim to normal spec only if it’s expanded too much . Load and enjoy
  9. Yep normal to have sooty neck but not down to main body of the brass . Had this years ago and went up in powder to the next node to get the case to expand faster , or you could anneal the case if it’s old and has hardened the brass . In the end I ditched the brass after 17 reloads and got some new stuff (308) lapua . Your brass looks good .
  10. Yes that’s correct.Berger manual . From spud
  11. Found another one with only full and 3/4 figures . For the quadrants. Nightmare mates
  12. Silly of me but I trusted the StrelokPro 0.7 mils . Should of aimed straight on and noted the spotters white stick pointy thing. Still learning wind. Btw 308 155s . LOL

  14. Wind vane is from Sniper solutions . Optics warehouse or other suppliers . If your prone and shooting close to the ground the wind is much slower than at head height and shooting to 300 yards on a10 mph wind call puts me off the fig 11 . As per catterick last Saturday. That’ll be why a kestrel comes with a short tripod??
  15. MASTER SNIPER Ep 6: How to Read the Wind 31K views · 2 years ago 738 Dislike Share Save Report Have a look at this vid from optics warehouse. Nice wind vane mounted next to the rifle.
  16. Latest info loaded some 73g bergers to 2.26” and 25 grain of n540, this was a good load earlier this year with no pressure signs . Thursday was warm for up north and I had great accuracy but cratered primers . Need to back off a bit for summer. These are slightly compressed loads so might drop to 24.8 . Be careful now the weather s getting better. Cheers
  17. My AI 308 likes hornady and Berger but not lapua or TMKs and defo not ppu but a mates AI rifle I sold the TMKs to loves them .Tikka 223 shoots most ammo very well but Berger and hornady again are the best in the 70-75 grain range . It’s a matter of playing about to find the best or just settle on something that works for you . Have fun
  18. 60 to 66.7 of n560 /165 /160 max speed high 3100s from Vihtavuori web site . Berger also recommend RL22 . 3000 fps + . have a look at Vihtavuori web site regarding its powders and you should find something suitable. Cheers
  19. Most people pointed me towards lapua 155s and had a reasonable load but nothing flash so I moved onto Berger and hornady and started to have much better results that those older chaps were asking me what I was using , now they’re all using Berger. Reading Bryan litz book I wouldn’t of bothered with lapua as they don’t suit my twist rate . Live and learn eh . I’ll now pick a bullet to suit twist rate and speed and maybe compromise a little on ultimate BC . That said the older chaps are all using TRGs and they will suit lapua with the 1:10” twist . Didn’t know all that stuff when starting out . Knowledge is power so pass it on but also pass on the intracies of twist and barrel length . Cheers
  20. Very secretive with loads regarding club comps mate . Don’t want us newcomers beating the old hands ???? . Took me a lot of persuading to get info re what’s a good starting point . Happy with my loads now 7 years later . It’s just how it is with clubs . Cheers
  21. Marc wanted info about our hand loads in 2019 , all that testing then give away your secrets !!!! . It was a form from Helen via email. Will see what happens in the future. Nowadays happy to pass on info if it helps newcomers. It was a nightmare years ago getting info from clubmen as to where I should be looking for reloading. Cheers
