  1. For sale is my hardly used AI .338LM L115A3 style AWM. Folding stock with AI Bipod. Round Count 240 Included in the sale are: S&B PMII 5-25x56 FFP P4F 0.1Mil/Mil turrets double turn; Sphur Mount 44MOA; 3 Magazines, AI Muzzle Brake and AI over brake Moderator with Tab Gear sand coloured cover. Spare AI New Barrel, as per factory fitted, threaded and fluted, identical to the one on the rifle. SPARE BARREL NOW SOLD Several hundred once and twice fired brass, some bullets (250gr Scenars), RCBS Die set, Wilson case gauge. Selling as a package because I have nowhere left to shoot it locally. £SOLD
  2. The Moderator is probably the issue. Triggering is by sound. You might be able to read it with the mod if you change the trigger to Doppler, but that will only start registering once the radar picks out the bullet in flight, so less reliable for at the muzzle velocities. Without the mod you should be fine
  3. With a muzzle brake, 6" forward of the unit. Without, alongside
  4. Might interest someone with kids in the Hants area https://www.gmk.co.uk/vacancies/9
  5. A fellow shooter bought one from Oakrise Arms. It was assembled from NOS Beretta parts and certainly looks brand new. It shoots like a dream, is very accurate but if you are shooting strings you'll need a glove or taped fingers because cocking it will soon hurt bare hands. At just under £1800 they aren't that pricey compared to some other rifles. I suppose it depends whether you want to shoot it a lot or just for fun. He shoots CSR iron sights with his.

You seem to be asking this on all the forums except the CSR one?

Anything that is cheap, warm dry and not too expensive. There is no such thing as fashion in the rain and snow.
  9. I tried that, still didn't work. Neck tension was my issue and no changing or polishing of stems changed the pressure needed to seat the bullet. I'll stick with my solution, it works and has done for 18 mths now.
  10. I tried the VLD type stem which RCBS supplied, but I suspect it was the GGG brass I used being a little bit stiffer than other brands. The neck bushing solved it nicely, an doesn't have that annoying graunch as the ball expander pulls out of the case, so I am happy
  11. I also found TMKs very difficult to seat without leaving a ring around the Ogive. After researching it everywhere, getting a custom seating stem made by RCBS, trying chemical metal in my existing one and mulding it to the shape of the TMK, the rings still persisted. Eventually someone suggested neck tension was the issue, so I got a Redding neck Bushing die and full length size using the .247 neck bushing which gives about 1 thou neck tension. Problem solved, no more deformed TMKs. I then use a Lee Factory crimp die with a light crimp as they are used in an AR straightpull.
  12. I use 77TMKs, 24.5grains of RS52, out of an 18" barrel getting 2730fps with a COAL of 2.25" Mag length and can achieve similar results rested
  13. If you are going to do something, just crack on and do it. The last thing you want is a thread on the internet debating whether to do it, with a username which appears to be your real name. If it's true and someone gets in trouble, it wouldn't take the brains of Sherlock Holmes to find the thread online and put 2+2 together. Makes you wonder how anyone made decisions before the internet
  14. Absolutely agree, so why not make it clear on websites about back orders and delivery times, rather than implying it's in stock when it isn't.
  15. 77 Gr TMKs over 24.5grains of RS52

    economics..

With those quantities you are hardly going to break the bank, either that or your daughter has unrealistic expectations regarding her inheritance!
