  1. The barrel liner was place in the 7.62 barrel and the working parts swapped. It then worked on simple blowback in semi auto
  2. This is the HK kit used in the 80's. They were being re-manufactured in the US a few years ago. I've made some enquiries, I fancy one for my straightpull. Will keep you posted
  3. Complete dealer list : Klinsky stockists
  4. According to the importer these are the two nearest stockists to you Dauntsey Guns Ltd Dauntsey Lock Chippenham SN15 4HD 01249 893120 www.dauntseyguns.co.uk Wiltshire Rod & Gun Ltd 135 Victoria Road Swindon SN1 3BU 01793 497455 www.wiltsrodguns.com
  5. Of course. Nobody is expected to be 'business as usual' during these times. We were exploring options before Surrey Gunsmith's came up, so the two are in parallel
  6. Nothing back. I am exploring having some made along with Dr Strangelove. We'll keep you posted
  7. I messaged them. I think Dr Stranglove has too. No reply as yet
  8. Still advertised on the website but misnamed as 'Style GSG' , looks like someone has named things when English might not be their first language looking at the other items. No price though. SURREY GUNSMITH SSG Bottom Metal
  9. I know where there is a tidy .243 at a very reasonable price if interested
  10. I had the same issue with mine, it was caused by HV ammo such as minimag I switched to Blaser / Std ammo and it worked flawlessly
  11. The L/H deflection turret is interesting. As per the old No.32 Scope. I've always found the No.32 emminently sensible in it's layout (originally designed that way for use on the BREN of course) but interesting to see Khales do that too. Always had a soft spot for Khales and have a ZF84 and ZF95 .
  12. You asked what the NRA are likely to do. How would anyone here know? The obvious ones to ask are the NRA
  13. Sphur do their cantilever mounts in Low, Medium and High. That relates to the height of the scope above the bore. I went for low to get it as close to the bore as possible. It requires a low head position on the stock, but if you have no neck issues your should be fine. Unfortunately you won't know until you try
  14. The zero range is 71 'FEET', your calculations are 75 YARDS
  15. I've asked the Range Office, the online NRA social media people and those setting up the target screens exactly how they guarantee that the target is central to the sensors. They either stare blankly, ignore you or just say 'they are'. They won't accept there can be an error for some reason. Having seen how blase the Target Shed are at pasting up targets, I doubt that any of them are 100% central. As Dunc says, ok for grouping practice, or scoring if you accept that your sights might not be set correctly afterwards. Use them for zeroing? .......................I wouldn't.
  16. The mikes are in each corner of the frame. If you can hit one of them whilst aiming at the centre, then you probably shouldn't be using the electronic targets anyway.
  17. Interestingly it says all firearms manufactured or imported after 14/9/2018 are to be marked, so who is expected to do that then? An RFD if one comes into their possession? How do you know the manufactured date? I strongly expect this will fall by the wayside once we fully leave the EU along with the Deact sale notification rules. The EU document says that the Nation state shall retain all these records for at least 30years, that doesn't fit with RFD requirements to retain registers so there is already a disconnect. It also says the marking is needed if the serial number on component parts doesn't match the receiver/frame number. [L137/30] ‘That data-filing system shall record all information relating to firearms which is needed in order to trace and identify those firearms, including: (a) the type, make, model, calibre and serial number of each firearm and the mark applied to its frame or receiver as a unique marking in accordance with paragraph 1, which shall serve as the unique identifier of each firearm; (b) the serial number or unique marking applied to the essential components, where that differs from the marking on the frame or receiver of each firearm; Which would suggest that if the bolt/bolt carrier/barrel etc bear the main serial number then there is no need for a unique marking. https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=CELEX:32017L0853&from=EN Sounds like a real clusterfcuk.
  18. Whereabouts are you? I'm in SHR&PC but don't frequent it that often. Best thing to do is go down there and speak to the committee member who is at the desk that day. There was a backlog last year of people wanting to join, emails can be slow. The opening times are on the website, you'll see the cars parked around the entrance, there is a metal entrance cage with a buzzer, just go down there is my advice.
  19. You are paying the shipping costs. If the receiving dealer wants to accept it, enter it into their register then store it until you collect and book it out to you for free, then that's their choice. Some will charge you for that because why would they do all that for free? They aren't making anything from the sale. The trick is to build up a good relationship with your RFD (normally by spending money with them) and then get the service free hopefully quid pro quo.

    CSR Optic

Lots of people use 1-4/1-5/1-6/1-8 power scopes in service optic and keep them wound down to 4.5x as JMH said. Choose what class you want to shoot in and choose a scope to suit you. If you are shooting in SO class then get a reticle that suits you and isn't cluttered and adjustable turrets so you can dial in ranges quickly for run downs etc. Apart from that it's personal choice and budget. Get a good strong mount The top scores in both classes are similar with SO often outperforming PO, so scope magnification is often irrelevant. If you want a high power scope and bipod, choose PO. Both the scopes you show have capped turrets. Steiner used to do a 1-5x24 M5Xi which if you can get 2nd hand is superb and has tactical turrets. Look at the M range not the T range scopes. Or Vortex/ S&B / Trijicon and Steiner do 1-8x24 's with tactical turrets. Go along to a CSR shoot and see what others are using.
