One on top of two
Right then . like I say nothing really groundbreaking , I will say I have shot in better weather but it is what it is . so here’s my results ( as it was a bit foggy I have omitted the obvious flyer ) I have also shot at 50/100 meters not yards . conditions fog 8 degrees 3 mph ( certainly NOT a deal breaker) First up at 50 m and all groups are 10 shots . and all measurements are centre to centre i then at 100m i would like to point out that the Eley match are a really old box that a scrounged off a mate , I need to test them again as this was clearly a dodgy box , I was getting lots of supersonic cracks and misfires , when I shot them at 100m I did clean the barrel of wax from the RWS , did it reall y make a difference ? Who knows .
Farmer rick
really surprising about the match! and the RWS rifle match opening up so much a 100. Those RWS at 50 are looking lovely. What is the rifle you are using? also interesting you say the match were going super sonic - same I'm experiencing. I found on my last set with Eley subs and match, that the subs did better, and accord to my Chronology results were faster than the match, I wonder if the match are on the board of super sonic that might be a issue with constancy as some are going super and other sub... and potential trans-sonic issues... One on top of two
It’s an anni 14/16 with 18” barrel yeah it was hard work at 100m but that’s real world .
Farmer rick
I did a session this afternoon with the RWS subs only, as they are the only ones that will stay sub sonic in my rifle. here are the results: black dots - 50 yrds average wold be around 12mm - 0.5" orange - 100 yrds average about 1.2" ish The ely subs are still the best, but no good being supersonic!!! 😤

How are your RWS subs with the wax filling in the HP etc... I did sort mine a little to try and improve consistency. it does seem to help. One on top of two
I just love the challenge with the rimmy every person gets a different result. It really is a case of finding the right ammo as no two set ups / barrels /rifles are the same. And the ammo does a great job of reminding you every single time 😂
One on top of two
I just shot them Rick. Couldn’t be assed. I did think about it though.

I genuinely believe I had a dodgy box because I have never had any Eley perform like that. So the jury is out. I will buy a fresh brick and test them in due course

I did think about it though. it does seem to help, reduces the number of "flyers" if you look at the black dots above, the top line are the more empty ones the bottom line the fuller ones - POI changes a little seems the hollow ones are a little higher and the filled ones a little Lower... maybe a little heavier?.... I tried 2 x 5 shot groups with sk standard plus at 100yds but it was a full value wind from R2L.. I have got the target but I didn't photograph it.. it was a shotgun pattern being about 2 inches on the first group and maybe a little less on the second group.. As a fair comparrison I tried 2 groups of eley match and they were about 1 inch and about 1 inch right of centre from the breeze blowing off line.. The second group I single feed and shot them but the conditions probaly didn't help improve the group.. I was testing some ammo in my 7mm 270 and it shot quite stunning small groups so I know I was doing my bit today 🤪

No i deer
🤩 I was expecting good things from the SK standard plus but it was dreadful. The eley match you shot went really poor.. Surprised me big time.. You and Rick get the good results from subs.. That's all I'm after 🙄 Greeny just doesmt like them much 🙄
One on top of two
Neil , I have found the RWS R50 and R100 to shoot the best at 100m , i my rifle at least. my local is pretty limited regards rimfire, just Eley , RWS , CCI i ment to grab some Lapua last time I went to MIks ( the candy shop ) but I was a little sidetracked. it does piss me off a little bit because for years and years Eley had the rimfire world sown well and truly up , both subsonic and high velocity , but they had to fiddle ...... twats
One on top of two
I think my anni may still need a little more time to settle in it’s had less than 500 rounds through it .

Might be worth focusing on one ammo so the barrels being consistently exposed to the same materials etc whilst shooting it in?

Farmer rick
I’ve just found my initial ammo testing I did back in January, reports said that the sk match was running well in the 457, so bought few more of those. Interesting it didn’t like the sk at all, the lapua started to come good but the eley match was the best, one group was astounding!!! No i deer
A mate who's following this thread who isn't a member on here said he's getting the eley match going supersonic...!! Eley club works best in his TX1 which is sat in a Oryx stock. Funny stuff the 22 ammo. Horses for courses scenario 🐎🐴

I have only put RWS through it Rick , anything else has just been for the sake of these tests really , I just want to shoot subs well througH it not really interested in anything else , I have other things for that , the Anni 14/16s can be a bit awkward for shooting long distance as there a relatively short / small rifle , there more designed for shooting in tight situations like out of a vehicle window ect imho . There very short in LOP hence the recoil pad , but I wanted something small to shoot out of the gator , so it was worth the trade off to me . No i deer
I was changing ammo types and wondered if the diff lines would affect the accuracy.. Not sure if It does or not..
One on top of two
I have always found anni’s to be very fussy, especially with match chambers . But when find what they seem to like they shine .
No i deer
I did hear the R50 and R100 shoot really well. My local hasn't got them and they didn't have any Tenex in stock either that's why ive not tried them.
