  1. The 8% is what a certain importer / distributor will increase their prices by from what I been told by someone who works for them , I guess a lot will be extra admin work , banking etc , what a great excuse for them to ramp up prices
  2. Yes it should be , you will always pay the VAT in the country of origin unless you are a UK VAT registered business then its zeroed at source . Edit , post Brexit you wont be charged VAT at source on European purchases BUT there will be import duty , around 8% then VAT on top of everything , payable to HMRC , VAT registered businesses will claim the VAT back but still have to charge VAT on the items when they are sold, expect all guns and related products from the EU to go up by at least 8% , stuff from the US will remain the same as today.
  3. Bang on , it happens in other markets as well , precious penny pinchers then cry theres no insert shop type here local to where they live , it`ll bite shooters on the arse when the only choice is SGC and the likes left and then you will then get well and truly financially raped.
  4. Maybe Lapua are telling all their retailers to stick to their territory or get no more stock ?
  5. According to a trade Cerakoter 😉 The bottom line is if you are capable of painting motor vehicles to a good standard you can cerakote firearms, its not a dark art or even a green or FDE art
  6. Certainly the cheapest route , rabbits are pretty dumb in front of a lamp , I`ve had over 100 a night on many occasions with a lamp , NV is more versatile and works exceptionally well for foxing and on the recent cull.
  7. Americans have been successfully DIY Cerakoting for years
  8. Get NV if you can but not the truly sh*** type with a screen on the top , an older model used Photon should not be too expensive .
  9. You can get DIY kits from the UK distributor from £130.00 https://www.facebook.com/CerakoteUK/
  10. Yes, and that weakness is what causes the erosion of shooting rights in the UK , too many shooters have been bitten by the snowflake virus and are scarred to make some noise to defend their sport .
  11. Clearly this forum is too snow flakey for discussions like that.
  12. Borris may be toff but I believe he has the countries interest's at heart which is undoubtedly more than you can say for Corbyn.
  13. No dont , we are explaining why you should`nt vote for Corbyn.😁
  14. Possibly the most ridiculous reasoning for voting labour I've ever heard.
  15. Bozer gets my vote , anything else is a waste of a vote if you want the UK to move forward and prosper , a hung parliament would be as equally disastrous as a Labour government . Voting has never been so important however much you may despise the choices.
  16. I wouldnt use paraffin in non stripping mod, you`d never be sure it was dried out and could prove exciting on the first firing
  17. If they are really caked up brush on some Hoppes 9 or similar and let it soak , then scrub it with a brass brush , blast with brake cleaner , wipe off then a light film of gun oil and anti seize on the threads. Wear rubber gloves. I hate unstrippable mod`s , you just know they are very soon full of sh**e , a few drops of rain or condensation build up and its all running down your muzzle.
  18. Dont forget to put in for a variation
  19. You are missing the point of retail , your rifle smith will no doubt use what ever components you request made to your spec ...if he thinks they are suitable , however if you order direct and there`s an issue with with something its your problem not your rifle smiths , you then have to pay to send the defective items back , and dont forget you are taking a cut out of your rifle smiths income if you are cutting him out of the deal , in the automotive trade no self respecting garage will fit customer supplied parts. Maybe you could go a step further and build the rifle yourself on a £300 Machine mart lathe and when its best group is 10 MOA you can rant at your supplier for selling you dodgy components , they`ll then ask you to send in your barreled action ... but you cant as you are not an RFD and your local rifle smith has gone out of business trying to compete with precious penny pinchers Any RFD`s and rifle smiths on here are welcome to offer me a discount for fighting their corner
