  1. I agree its unlikely but I`d say not impossible , if it did I`d imagine the riflesmiths insurer would be a bit hesitant if it hadn't been proofed, personally I like to dot the I`s and cross the T`s and would pay my RFD for proofing.
  2. If the undercut was too deep the moderator could blow off the end taking the thread with it , bits of shrapnel could fly around , I wouldnt want to be standing next to it. You could argue that modern rifles dont need proofing at as they have a proven design but then not every rifle passes proof.
  3. It would cover whoever had done the work better than someone who hadn't bothered to get it proofed .
  4. If a bad or inexperienced gunsmith went too deep on undercut it would definitely weaken the end of the barrel , add a big heavy moderator and you could be in for some fireworks.
  5. No , they did get an ambiguous report on moderators however.
  6. Whilst the proof houses do come across as a mafia I still think I`d go with what they claim is law.
  7. If its re threaded it does need re proofing , ask the proof house directly if you doubt it.
  8. You not having it threaded as well?
  9. You must lead a sheltered life , I suggest you read and travel more ....just saying like.
  10. You live in a rural area and generally rural people dont vote SNP , visit some Glasgow pubs and declare your Englishness and you`ll witness hatred very quickly.
  11. In reality the SNP are closer to marxists but given enough free reign and with their hatred of English they would behave very similar to nazis.
  12. Hare`s can be legally shot , would the emotional ones be as outraged if 300 rats or grey squirrels had been shot?
  13. Buy two and kit the whole family out
  14. Personally I`d fit a decent picatinny rail and use quality QD mounts , you will then retain zero in most cases.
  15. The slow but sure ban on all gun types , if you cant shoot vermin you dont need a rifle for vermin control , the SNP are no better that the Nazi party , just a little bit more subtle .
  16. No, shop around the rifle smiths on this site and else where in the UK , Sassen are equally as good from what I hear, AI would not use them otherwise.
  17. You can buy AI barrels in the UK , theres quite a few rifle smiths who will machine you one up , as far as I know production AI barrels are made by Sassen in the UK so no reason not to use one of those.
  18. Yep , so it has it's uses so long as everyone has a suitable digital device, completely useless if they only have charts.
  19. I can see its uses as its easier to remember three words than coordinates , so wheres this ? ///duke.vines.anyone
  20. "Just a .22LR" is classed the same as any other firearm , I`d judge it on the location , will your works let you take it in to your work place ?
  21. Bergara HMR in .308w , good all rounder and plenty of ammo choices, proven track record.
  22. I think your info is out of date by around 20 years , they did turn out some crap many years a go but today they are comparable with everything else out there , some make the daft mistake of comparing new £450 Remington's with £1200 Tikka`s , obviously the Tikka will be better , the Remingtons with 5R barrels are exceptionally accurate for factory rifles.
