  1. For 2 rifles with the same chambering claim one is for daytime use, the other to be used with night vision equipment Cheers Bruce
  2. Frankford Arsenal rotary tumbler lite https://www.reloading.co.uk/frankford-arsenal-rotary-tumbler-lite-230v-fran-1097881.html Stainless steel pins (actually a mix of balls and pins) from E Bay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/293978876818?hash=item447281ab92:g:FmcAAOSwL21jjwqC&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAA4HJXPoP0EfslNEmFzrHgWKUi2xy4RHKmjCpZ3omjnSbimkgBuSEO3EKSV8aKa2ICoFR%2FLhcccomYIcgs1X7JKj1YWWhdB7OjO8ZOWf3ACGGL7vRoXdfB4OVRc4MyN055x3jdMg%2BPo8xfdzD5MEHSDBfvI0U6%2Fh%2Bt%2BpImXnXZD17PL8Ksu5B7ovThjAfaS4o2jvFRz6XGQC9tSTWJIF8Ne6MoZbo4cT9DzIzTjGfoe5NY579%2Bqy1R6Ng3xDesCQFaxdnkhz7XYD4R78P%2BMwEG3qG8hb0bIicyHxlGkueCRltJ|tkp%3ABFBMpKiKgqph Warm water, a couple of drops of fairly liquid and a level teaspoon of citric acid crystals Cheers Bruce
  3. The main tube on the DS35 is unobstructed so you can, if you wish fit an aftermarket IR Frankly, I don't think that will be necessary. I have measured the power output of the DS35 IR and it's around 65% higher than the early 008s with the IR power upgrade I doubt there are many aftermarket IRs that will illuminate long range targets much better than the DS35 onboard IR Cheers Bruce
  4. In that case, you and all the people who want a day/night scope without anything to spoil its aesthetics can buy a no wifi/no IR Pulsar C50 or a HIK Alpex and not use the supplied IR Cheers Bruce
  5. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder Where would you prefer the IR to be? If it's mounted in the typical manner with some sort of clamp assembly onto the tube body of the scope then all that happens is that there is less space on the tube body to adjust the position of the scope on the rifle. I too did not like the look of the DS35 when first saw it, but having handled it and used it, I get what PARD were trying to do and applaud them for their creative solution to an old problem Given the number already sold (into the hundreds) and the overwhelmingly positive reception it has had, it seems that most people are not bothered by the location of the IR and LRF Cheers Bruce
  6. Elite Optical are the Trade part of Optics Warehouse and it is actually Elite Optical who are the authorised importer and distributor for HIK products. if anyone can help you, it's them Cheers Burce
  7. I know it's more expensive, but the Lyman case prep centre is easier to use - particularly for case trimming since you can use existing Lee case trimmers with a small threaded adaptor to fit the Lyman A couple of my pals had the RCBS case prep centre, which is very similar to the Frankford Arsenal model, but both have now changed to the Lyman. Cheers Bruce
  8. I would be very surprised if it was not annelaed. I can't see the brass that's loaded into ammunition and the brass that's sold loose coming off different production lines. The brass in loaded ammo is shiny and shows no sign of annealing which would imply some sort of cleaning process being performed after annealing. Since that is performed on brass loaded into ammo, it stands to reason that it would also be performed on brass sold loose - hence you getting shiny brass Cheers Bruce
  9. HIK thermal products sold in the USA are sold under the AGM brand In the UK they are sold as HIK HIK name AGM name Thunder Rattler Stellar Adder Panther Varmint Lynx Pro Taipan Cheers Bruce
  10. Stu, Sorry, but the dies are no longer available. This guy bought them and may still have them https://gundeal.co.uk/taylormadegunsandammo Cheers Bruce
  11. AFAIK, these are still available, but I'm not at home this week If you can bear with me I'll confirm the details when I get back Cheers Bruce
  12. Agreed, Boyds are not the problem, it's the UPS people at East Midlands Airport who don't have clue. Cheers Bruce
  13. That was not my experience with a Boyds gunstock shipped by UPS On it's arrival in the UK, I had to complete a lengthy form explaining that it was a stock and not a pressure bearing part of a firearm The final cost to get the stock in my sweaty palm was the same in pounds as the price in dollars on the Boyds website - and that was before the pound fell of the cliff against the dollar Cheers Bruce
  14. Contact Medcert or Shootcert They will then contact your GP and get your records from them (your GP has to comply with the request from Medcert) Assuming you do not or have not suffered from any of the conditions listed on the proforma, Medcert (should on payment of their fee) provide the Police with the information they require as part of you application Your potential problem is the time it will take for your GP to comply and the time Medcert will take to complete the proforma. Keep your FEO informed what is happening so that he/she knows you are actively trying to help the process along. It might be a bit late for this renewal, but since the police will accept a proforma dated up to 6 months prior to the expiry of a certificate, it makes sense to get your GP/Medcert/Shootcert dealing with the proforma as soon as renewal is less than 6 months away Cheers Bruce
  15. One of the two now sold, the other (identical one) is still available Cheers Bruce
  16. I have a portable targetcam system built around one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/383880127338?hash=item596109e36a:g:iu8AAOSwS6Ff6wiL&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAA8KqPX%2BH%2FDXFp2sQifT2c8YMDiAmWoyhlH9nh9Imhs4pWR4gxMIkX8dGN0wZNtNVoX6Zkrv6miihOwJwz2qifzfPr3afjXl3QEk6gW5gfIKcrCVHEo0PzDIJCrsYx11gS%2B%2FLHyWkmocNgh5XLgVnZ0ugaVMqsbDCWGe%2FqqqDCvbYMolcCYVt2LMOy9raflLtY6XmCUAwt5lWX0mMlntbPf5DDC5lp7apWCCjdV5%2BgqvBh%2B1ynsKgG6lkbt581kIE9hWSkm7g58lxAIr5HtBIFCFus0DLXL%2Br2XAvcFFVsYHx4dSai9oWzGU0T2k%2Fl1dQ%2FIg%3D%3D|tkp%3ABFBMoKvKpuBg Just supply it with 12 volt power and it becomes a wifi hotspot you can connect your phone or tablet to There are several apps such as Tiny cam and handispotter which allow the image from the camera to be viewed on a phone or tablet and also to control the pan, tilt and zoom of the camera from the firing point. The handispotter app also allows still images to be grabbed after each shot and reviewed so the build up of hits on a target can be seen more easily However, neither of these apps has the ability to measure group size Cheers Bruce
  17. Everything about this tragic shooting that's in the public domain thus far, appears to suggest an illegal handgun was used. Given the difficulty of legally possessing a handgun in Great Britain, there is no reason to think that FAC and SGC holders have anything to worry about. Cheers Bruce
  18. The original dragonfly uses an old style edge emitting laser that can be focussed to a spot but which, as you say also produces a "dirty" beam If they've done it right the vcsel will be clean beam but potential with a less bright srea in the centre (aka the polo mint effect) BTW, I thought Starlight were no longer in business and that the owner was in legal difficulties https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/05557824 According to this the business was dissolved on 4 August this year Given that, maybe you should listen to some of the people who tell you they have the best IR ever 😃 Cheers Bruce
  19. I doesn't work like that The police do not want the applicants medical records - they want the medical proforma which is now part of the application formed, completed and signed by a registered GP. If the applicant's GP will not complete the proforma (for whatever reason) the applicant can contact Medcert/Shootcert etc and they will contact the GP to obtain the applicants medical records so that they (Medcert/shootcert) can complete the medical proforma. My understanding is the applicants medical records have to go directly from the GP to Medcert/Shootcert and not via the applicant Cheers Bruce
  20. If you cannot visit the GP surgery personally, telephone them every day basically annoying them into giving you what you want If they are as busy as you say, then you calling them every day will make them even busier, so remind them that actually dealing with your issue will reduce their workload. Remember that this is private work, not NHS work, so the normal channels used to complain about GP performance will probably not apply Cheers Bruce
  21. It's happening more regularly partly because GPs see the chance to make a bit of money going elsewhere. Remind them that there is a legal requirement for them to release your records and that it should be done within 28 days Cheers Bruce
