  1. Sorry, I should have marked the thread but these are all sold Cheers Bruce
  2. I've been and checked them this morning and the box is marked 6mm BR Remington and the part umber is 36317 Cheers Bruce
  3. I can tell you that it's Redding type S match die set p/n 36317 with a full length die and a micrometer type bullet seater die. Until I get a close look at it, I don't what, if any, bushings are included. cheers Bruce
  4. Bear with me, I know where there is a set and they are for sale, but I don't know the make or model or how many dies there are in the set. I'll have all that information and photographs by lunchtime tomorrow and will let you know. Cheers Bruce
  5. Thomas Jacks are the sole UK importer and distributor for Yukon products, so you'd have to contact them about having it repaired, but frankly I doubt if it would be economically sensible. Just go and buy one of these 850nm illuminators https://www.nightvisionstore.co.uk/black-sun-2-b22-ir-illuminator-c2x23877906 and this adjustable mount for it https://www.nightvisionstore.co.uk/adjustable-low-profile-ir-mount-c2x28623988 It's more than good enough for a Yukon photon Cheers Bruce
  6. 940nm is difficult to see with the human eye unless viewed in darkness where it is visible as very faint red glow. In the same circumstances 850nm is much brighter and more visible If the light is not working and you have fitted new batteries (are they the right way round?) then it's probably the driver - which is the electronic circuit that provides a constant current to the LED or the control that adjusts the power. I presume you did the camera test with the power control at max? Cheers Bruce
  7. Yes - even more so with 850nm since the camera is more sensitive to 850nm than to 940nm Cheers Bruce
  8. If you can't see a glow with your mobile phone, then the iR is not working Cheers Bruce
  9. Look at the illuminator with the camera in your phone. if it's working you should see a purple glow Cheers Bruce
  10. Those products were good when they first hit the market several years ago but they don't compare well to a lot of currently available thermal spotters and scopes Have a look through some of the new Pulsar, HIK and Senopex scopes and be blown away by how much better they are than a Trail XQ38 and anything ever made by FLIR Cheers Bruce
  11. Rings not included but a set of 35mm Tier One rings are available for it Price for the rings is £100 Cheers Bruce
  12. My apologies, I should have included that info in my post Second focal plane MOA reticle (not illuminated) with 1/8 moa clicks 35mm tube Side focus down to 5 yards Cheers Bruce

  16. I have the following JLK 60SD-LD bullets for sale These are 60 grain target bullets and not recommended for shooting live game I have 475 of these bullets I was given these by the son a of a recently deceased gamekeeper and any funds raised will be given to his widow The JLK bullets are 0.820 inches long JLK bullet on the left and a 69gn Sierra TMK on the right for comparison Calum Ferguson advises me that although JLK are a "Ma and Pa" outfit with a very small output, the bullets are high quality and made to tight tolerances Price: £100 for the lot Cheers Bruce
  17. Shootcert and Medcert are private companies set up by GPs to provide a service to gun owners having problems getting their own GP to complete the medical proforma. If your GP refuses to complete the medical proforma or is charging more than £60 you can contact Medcert or Shootcert and get them to do it for a fee of £60. They contact your GP and ask for your medical records. The big deal is that your GP cannot refuse this request and must supply your records to them. The irony is that if you use Medcert or Shootcert, your GP has to do almost as much work as would have been required if he had been completing the proforma. If your GP is asking stupid money, remind him of this fact and ask him to review his price - there are lots of stories of GPs suddenly reducing their prices. Cheers Bruce
  18. There is now a standard proforma that the applicant should give to their GP. Go to your Police forces website and it should be part of the FAC application/renewal documents. If it's not on your police forces website, it will be on most others. Get the proforma into your GP ASAP and ask how much they will charge. if it's more than £60, you have the option of using Medcert or Shootcert or telling your GP that you can get it done for £60 and he will still have to the same amount of work but not get paid for it Cheers Bruce
  19. Why should the effects of leaving a moderator on a 22RF be any different from leaving a moderator on a CF? Yes, there's less powder in a 22RF, but the chemistry is the same - so the effects will be the same - pitted crowns and bores near the muzzle. For all the time it takes to remove the moderator it seems daft not to. Cheers Bruce
  20. For foxing with my TQ50, anything over 250 yards is long range. I have shot them with the TQ50 at over 300 yards, but that's not something I would choose to do regularly In simple terms, the longer the focal length of the objective lens, and the smaller the sensor size, the higher the magnification of the scope So, a HIK TQ50 has a 12 micron 640x512 sensor and a 50mm lens. For a fox size target, it has a detection range (is there something there or not?) of 1863m and a recognition range (it's a fox) of 465m The Senopex A7 has a 12 micron 384x288 sensor and a 75mm lens. For a fox size target that gives a detection range of 2795m and a recognition range of 698m Basically, the Senopex A7 has a lot more base magnification (x7) than the HIK (x2.6) which is going to make long shots easier Cheers Bruce
  21. Definitely NOT the IRay RH50. For the asking price it's rubbish At the moment, the best "bang for your buck" thermal scope is the HIK MicroThunder TQ50 https://www.opticswarehouse.co.uk/hik-micro-thunder-50mm-640px-riflescope-only-special-edition It retails at £3k, but can be got for £2600 by just asking for some discount Also, avoid anything made by ATN The Pulsars are excellent, but pricey If you want something for long range foxing, then the new Senopex 75mm thermal scopes from Blackwood Outdoors are the dogs danglies. Cheers Bruce
  22. I have a B14 HMR and a pal has B14 HMP As far as we know either barrelled cation will fit straight into either stock But where are you getting a BMP stock? Cheers Bruce
  23. I also had a Voere semi auto with that feature - but in truth I never used it as a bolt action - way too fiddly to use compared to a standard bolt action - and way too much fun as a semi auto to make it worth the bother to use it as a bolt action Cheers Bruce
  24. Define what you mean by good accuracy 2 inch 5 shot groups at 50 yards? 1 inch 5 shot groups at 50 yards? 1/2 inch 5 shot groups at 50 yards? etc You can have semi auto plinking rifle and get loads of fun and enjoyment from it, but if you try to use the same rifle for target shooting ( particularly alongside people using single shot and bolt action rifles) you'll get nothing but frustration Cheers Bruce
  25. The words "semi-auto" and "precision" are a contradiction in terms 😃 If you want precision it has to be a single shot/bolt action Cheers Bruce
