  1. I have never looked up the .416 Barret. A quick google reveals some spectacular ballistics. The .416 Barrett uses a .395 grain solid brass spitzer bullet designed with very low drag. Approximately 204 grains of propellent will propel this .416” dia. bullet at approximately 3,300 fps with 9,551 ft.-lbs. of energy
  2. Sorry to burst your bubble but Richard is associated with optics warehouse. I don’t know the exact details of the association, but when you look at all the reviews most of them are optics warehouse imported products. I own a simple 4-14X50 ior scope. The glass is excellent and it holds zero. The exterior finish is horrible if I’m honest. I’ve had it 12 years on my original stalking rifle and trust it. I have previously owned a 3-18X42. It tracked well and I only sold it because I wanted to move to FFP. @MarinePMI was conservative with his comments. He is very well placed to comment on the US market and will have seen the adverse IOR commentary first hand, especially on snipershide. To he honest is was justified. IOR branded a model of scope the “snipershide edition” without backing from the website owner . The scope was terrible, the failures rate was through the roof and as I’m sure you can imagine returning for warranty work from the USA to Romania was no simple task. The brand hasn’t recovered as a result. I know you have ordered a scope. But to be honest if In your position I would have picked up a vortex viper secondhand for about £400. Shot it and learned to use it and become proficient. During the process put some money to one side and when the time was right sold the vortex for pretty much what you paid for it and then bought a Schmidt or kahles
  3. Best production rifle. Well it’s got to be an Accuracy International AT. same action as the AX308 and shoots just as well. But cheaper.
  4. I have still got this issue, given to me by my godfather.
  5. I agree with catch-22. if you didn’t have a bore cam you wouldn’t know about the firecracking.
  6. I think he does social media a bit. Best off giving him a call.
  7. Paddy Dane does them in the U.K.
  8. Now you have me chiming in. I don’t want to have to shoot the extreme long range day. I don’t mind £100 a day range fee. one day a weekend. 100 rounds. one over night stop. it halves the cost.
  9. Thank you @MJR https://www.solidsolutiondesigns.com/product/reloading-press-talon-advanced/
  10. I went from a lee to a forster co-ax about 11 years ago. I got the forster from bushwear on promotion. The camming action on the forster is excellent and allows me to full length size .308/6.5 creedmoor/6.5x47 and 7x64 with ease. However I have been using a hand press for a couple of years due to the confines of space. It’s been a cracking piece of kit. Very expensive once imported. so much so I won’t go into it. I am currently shopping for a press for my Dad. I have always reloaded for him. We had a trio of 6mmbr’s made a few years ago and now he is retired he can load for himself. When Jeff Rowland is supplying his high-fi I had to offer a good looking press which means European. check out these for engineering goodness as what I believe are good prices. There was a one that was twice the price but couldn’t see why. https://www.solidsolutiondesigns.com/product/micron-press-up-to-300wm/ https://www.com/product/reloading-press-talon-advanced/
  11. @Ronin will be happy. The link I posted was for the AW mag not AICS
  12. I believe baldie isn’t doing his any more. sporting services have this. https://www.sportingservices.co.uk/products/6mm-magazine-spacer-kit
  13. Yes a sensible decision. folks thing about decontamination when returning home. There has been no advice regarding this.
  14. I tried a Pard on the back of my 3-24X52 a few weeks ago. Admittedly it was raining And not ideal conditions. I was very impressed and it was on par with my photon with doubler.
  15. There are many options out there now. Are you just intending to shoot prone and it one spot? If so some of the FTR type of bipods might be suitable. Stable sporting options are mainly picatinny mounted. I am currently using a Tier One evolution bipod. It is very stable as allows the rifle to sit underneath the axis of the legs. I like the fact the legs deploy without having to press a button like atlas. I like the look of the Atlas cant and lock which is a viable option. it all comes down to how much you want to spend.
  16. what are you comparing it to?
  17. Lee I think you need to do a new post on your new a action, especially on that stock you have. my Accuracy International AT mags scratch the fudge out of the 6.5x47 brass I am running. I am following suit With the 800 grit and elbow grease.
  18. Where did you get it from in the end?
