T73 personally I’d not want to shim rings, feels like you are trying to bend the scope while doing this? Can I ask why you are against adding an adapter rail to the rifle, seems to me a 20 moa rail ( or more) would solve all your problems?! Terry

As per suggestions, have a good look on YouTube and read up on the various online articles then do the work yourself, if you take things slowly it is not a too difficult job. I would suggest though obtaining the correct size hollow ground flat blade screwdrivers or set of 1/4 drive tips: https://www.marlinspares.com/product/marlin-screw-driver-bits/ makes life easier and prevents chance of messing the heads of screws up or slipping and gouging the bluing. Is the barrel parallel(ish) at the muzzle or threaded? If the former then Harrell's ( http://harrellsprec.com/index.php/products/harrell-rimfire-tuners-403) or Ezell (https://www.ezellcustomrifles.com/home-3/pdt-tuners/) have used both and they work, but different setting up process for each. Not sure who carries Harrell's in the UK, March Scopes UK keeps the Ezell. As per Big Al's comments trigger and tuner would be a good start - tuner's on 22rf's really do work. Then batch testing, RWS are running this at Bisley in November, they test your rifle to find a batch it likes then you can purchase from that batch. In saying this a shooting buddy has just installed a drop in Lilja into his CZ and it it is an absolute blinder re. consistency and grouping. T

As per title, I'm looking for a soft carry case, possibly back pack design, to transport a Marling lever rifle (36" LOA) and / or a 'AR' type carbine, so a double rifle case would be nice. Also needs a couple of exterior pockets to put ammunition, mags, ear defenders in. AIM's are nice but an overkill for this application - from house into car, 50 yard walk from car to range. Re. non lead for stalking, some game dealers will now not accept deer shot with lead bullets. Help out a stalking buddy re. load development using the 'Fox' non lead bullets, seemed OK in a 270. So bit stuck there I feel? T

ColinBR, I’m also finding the purple box flat nose SK performs well, but was told in the NSRA shop SK are dropping this ammunition from production, some comment re easier to make the standard bullet ammunition ( which has also performed well) Not sure on the validity of this statement at present, it’s only been in production for a while?

Gents, just sorting out the NSRA 22rf Benchrest comps within and for my local club - all pretty straight forwards re. targets rules etc. Thought I'd have a look at the larger picture re 22rf Benchrest in the UK and come up with 2 apparently different organisations: Benchrest UK: https://www.benchrestuk.com/ & UKBR22: https://ukbr22.org.uk/ Both shooting very similar targets. ....as to resources, if they tidied up and removed some of the stupidity in the current system them there would be more time for checking. Things like swapping an suppressor for another (no serials numbers etc. on some mods) or even exchanging one rifle for another of the same calibre (or similar category) do not need forms filling and FAC's returned, cleared and sent back again - it achieves nothing except waste time and man hours. A lot of companies check social media during the employment process for new staff so there must be basic methods or technologies to do this.

I fired a Milazzo -Krieger ( https://wisconsintrigger.com/ ) which I believe was the original match trigger for AR’s and now being made again by the Wisconsin trigger Co. Ive also used Geissele triggers ( https://geissele.com/rifle-parts/lower-parts/triggers.html which are based on the MK) and they are very good. But there are now a slew of drop in options.

Srvet the ability to add a 223 ( or whatever) upper is a useful option. I had a Bradley and concur with BD, very accurate and fun. The plastic S&W’s certainly work and the tacticool guys like them but they do not feel right. I sold my Bradley and regretted it. Had another built with barrel of my choice and chamber end cut into the barrel , some of the CMMG’s have a floating ring/extractor groove setup I did not like (NB it does work though). Drop in a good trigger and find the ammo it likes and you’re off to the races 👌 No - the light is for mini rifle in the dark stages 😎

Hi Andrew, Concur, the little experience I've had so far and the wind is very much 'it'. I've a put a EraTac adjustable mount on my rifle so I can add up to 70moa in 10moa steps in addition to the existing 20moa rail on the action so the 500 yards was covered, 70 moa on the mount + 30 moa on the scope. I've carried out a quick mount adjustment vs results on target and the 40moa at 100 should give 41.88", measured move in group 41.75+/- so more than good enough to get you on paper. Thus:

Poor or inaccurate comms is really not acceptable, even if they have bad news it is reasonable to be told it. Not sure what, if anything, you can do, ask for a definitive date and if not forthcoming get your money back and have one built in the UK?

JDT, There is a lot going on globally re. shipping and in the US re. anything AR related - simple things like having components anodized. What was the stated completion date ex factory from Lantac? Have they been prompt in answering any emails/communications etc. I must admit paying up front before completion is a bit 'off' IMHO, payment when it was on their dock ready to ship perhaps. I know some guys in my club had a looooong wait for theirs, not much comfort but at least you're not alone.

I’ve had good results previously with SK match but the later flat nose match is doing well so any of the ‘match’ grade is a good place to start ( it’s just the better batch of the run same as any make really). Terry

You will not be disappointed and worth the wait 😎. I have had my Vudoo based rifle for just over a moth now, love the rifle. I wanted it for club NSRA BR and to shoot / try the longer ranges. I put an EraTac adjustable base which give 70moa in 10 moa steps - and it is pretty accurate in those steps i.e. the 40moa on the ERATEC should give 44.88", actual shift in POI was 44.75". so with the 20moa rail on the action plus 70 on the ERATEC I can easily get the 100+ moa needed for 500 yards (which is I hope as silly as it will get!) The factory VuDoo chamber's tight but I had mine cut using the Nevius reamer design to work with Lapua/SK ammunition - which it does.

Gents, Any pointers here, looking at using 22rf at longer ranges. I've shoot once with the GB F class folks at 300yard a week after getting my rifle, fun but was really in the dark Had an invite to a comp between the DRA and LRRFC at Thorne range which was 200, 300 & 500 yards. At 200 and 300 I felt I was 'in control' i.e. driving the rifle and scope = predictable results. but at 500 yards it was more area aim i.e. you tried to stay in the 4 ring and not chase each shot. Think the rifle and ammunition had been more sorted between the initial foray at 300 and this competition and I was not too far off the boil. Anyone else played with 22rf at distance? What have you found? tips welcomed. Is my experience in the jump to 500 typical? Cheers Terry
