One on top of two
Right back on topic 👍 NID have you got more of those RWS match ? And have you had a go at 100 with them , as you have seen they do shoot well and your rifle seems to like the .
No i deer
Not sure how many is left. 15 to 20.. enough for a 100yds test I bought one box of each to see how they went. Not likely to get around to trying them at 100yds until next weekend.. I'd like to try the others out at 100yds aswell especially the first 3 lots of ammo shot on the white discs on the dark background target. It might of been a lucky group as they were the not so good ones out the 4 types i used yesterday. Far right on the black n white target
One on top of two
Think you have got to try it , you might be pleasantly surprised.

Tried the new eley hollow subs again.. more to just blow them off.. Poo as usual. Shot a few groups with the eley match (top group) Bottom groups eley subs
No i deer
The high shot with the eley match was probaly shooter error. Really pleased with how they shoot. Worth the extra money 👍
bowji john
Top group looks really good - what range was that at ?

No i deer
50yds again. Might get to try 100yds later. I might have to get a higher mag scope just to see how well I can get them too shoot. The ammo making companies need to produce hollow point ammo to this capability.. I'd be happy to pay extra
One on top of two
Agreed !!! im out with mine at the min. Sitting in truck having a cuppa while it’s raining. If it eases up I will have a go at 100 m with the RWS subs 👍
bowji john
In field conditions it is always humbling when you are on unfamiliar ground I can hit a 2" target with my 452 'with my eyes closed' @ 100m on my own grounds As soon as I'm anywhere I'm not familiar with, that 'dead eyed dick' seems to have gone somewhere else The delights of .22 rim and why it is such excellent training

No i deer
Got some targets but I'm still out.. These 2 are eley match at 100yds.. Rather than adjusting the turrets I fired 1 shot using the 5th hash mark and I couldn't believe how central it was.. shame the rest didn't follow.. on the right-hand side group I used the 6th hash mark.. to bring the group up
One on top of two
That’s still very respectable looks like 40mm and a 35 mm group . I didn’t get chance I play , we had 200 ewes delivered so was busy sorting them .
Farmer rick
Here are a few groups shot the other Day with eley subs at 55yrds. A little gusty at times.
No i deer
CZ452 From firing point it felt like a slight tail wind. By the target very slight breeze coming from 4 o'clock.. By the time I had finished it was about as calm as I gets. After the first 2 targets with eley match I had a good idea where my shots were going so I just used the 6th hash mark for all groups. Started on the white discs. Same order as previous test. Top and bottom discs are the same ammo.. White discs are 20mm Orange discs are 50mm. With the 9 mag leupy the crosshairs and hash marks cover the black diamond in the centre of the orange disc. I could just see small segments on the white discs.. side tracking as an instance.. the centre dot on my golden eagle that's on my f open rifle is probaly smaller than the 22 bullet holes on my targets.. When your blocking out your aim point it's not as accurate.. I thought the results were ok all things considered. My last eley match group on the last target is sub inch from outside to outside so around 0.750 oai.. It was a good bit of trigger practice.. Packed up and got my 6.5x47 out and had a wander towards some roe I could see.. They were heading my way.. 2 bucks and 4 doe's. Couldn't take any as my dealer isn't taking carcases so watched them for 10 minutes and went on home. I'll check the group sizes with my calipers shortly then report back.. I definately chose wisely too buy a 500 count lot of eley match.. I also know the 6th hash mark is good for just past 100yds.. I will play another day finding the distance for each hash mark.. I'd be intrested to see others group targets 👍 Atb NID

I have a big problem with all the eley subs going super sonic. I’ve been talking directly with eley, but still no answers, other than barrel length, all 22lr is tested in 26” barrels. No i deer
With the eley match The widest group was 0.852 and the best was 0.560 oai which was the best group anyway so not bad at all seeing the crosshairs cover the aiming point. Only way of improving on that is with a higher mag fine crosshair scope.. My testing is done and happy with the eley match.. I will get a box of tenex to try.. My barrel is 20 inches
Farmer rick
Testing out rws subs today at 50 & 100yrds (plus a few eley rounds left over) temp 8deg wind 10-18mph all remained sub sonic first photos are 50yrds dots are 22mm diameter. 2x10 shot groups are top round 2nd in & bottom row 4th in. Overall would say around .5” group sizes.
Farmer rick
100yrds next, slight more open with wind gusts. Scope dialled around 6.5 clicks. most groups around .9” best about .66”
No i deer
Thanks Rick.. What's your set up.. Bipod, bench, eared bag, prone etc etc.. What mag are you using on your scope..? I nearly took an eared bag Sunday but thought I'd be ok.. the eared bag would of definately took a bit of wobble away.. I will try an eared bag with a higher mag scope. Farmer rick
This is the set up, cz 457 mtr, 6-24 scope - using around 20mag for clarity.
No i deer
Extra mag and fine cross or dot is needed for sure. What stock is that..?? Limited on stocks for the CZ452 as it has the action screw on the barrel. Boyds did do a tacticool stock for them and rimfire magic used to stock them..
