  1. I agree with catch 22 I never use the expander ball and mandrel after sizing đź‘Ť
  2. Once the FL die is set and solid it should size to 1/2 thou every time. Are you annealing your brass after firing ? If not it maybe that the case is springing back when released. Try holding the case in the die for 8-10 seconds to see if it keeps consistent size. Also make sure that you lube cases consistently as that can make a difference in my experience. Also try to size with consistent press speed. It maybe something else but if you try those simple steps it may help.
  3. Got mine yesterday. No extra import taxes so far !
  4. Steyr Lp5 match air pistol for sale. 2 air cylinders and 3 mags. Serviced by Steyr UK 3 yrs ago and not used since. Morini large grips with some customisation but only on palm swell . Great condition. Carry case and tools. Pm if your interested. ÂŁ1100 Ono.
  5. Well I suppose it depends if your after accuracy or power? If it’s practical shooting then knocking down steels with a 44 special might be hit and miss . My 200g loads were for 1500 comps and meant I didn’t have to aum off much between distances. I find the recoil between the 200’s and 240’s is very different and for target work the 200’s were as good. In my opinion unless you need the knock down power reduced loads are better for target shooting or things like pp1 or multi target as you get back on target quicker than full blown 240 g loads . Again personal preference as many have other ideas. In my opinion the mag tech brass is too hard and prefer R.E.M. peters and reloads easier . Again personal preference but have been reloading 44 mag for 40 yrs now in pistols and rifles. Good luck with it .
  6. I found that to get something flattish shooting out of 18 inch marlin with Ballard rifling to use 200g rnfp with a slower powder such as bluedot. It gives a better felt recoil than fast powders which just kick and more of a push. My 200 g load is virtually same point of impact from 10-50 mtrs exactly what I needed for 1500 competitions. But it’s all down to personal preference.
  7. I use std federal gold match small rifle primers and never had any issues and consistent ignition.
  8. Get yourself an assorted box of imperial NBR O rings. They do the job well on mine.
  9. It depends also what performance your looking for ? If your shooting TR size targets then it’s very do-able . If it’s f class size then that’s a different story. So be realistic in what you want from a 223 factory rifle. 👍
  10. I have same rifle and 69g mk’s shoot really well. I use Bergers in all my other rifles but found that they shoot well enough to be consistent. Being able to read the wind and conditions will still beat any higher BC bullets in 223. You could push 70g plus heads but find that 69g is on the limit for 1:9 twists. I must say I’ve not tried many others and no doubt there are others who have good results with other brands. I do load mine for single shots so if you want mag feed then some load dev may show them not to be as good as others.
  11. Mine shoots well with Sierra match kings in 69g out to 500 yd. I’m not pushing that fast either. Personally think that with weight of projectiles in 223 high BC is not worth chasing but consistent performance is better. But it’s personal choice .👍
  12. Agree with pops ! Salt Bath great as long as your careful.
  13. Hi Dave . Whichever you buy it’ll be a great watch . Just make sure you look online for the signs of fakes ! There’s lots of good ones out there! Most pawnbrokers and watchmaster will guarantee that they are genuine ! If you get one at the right money you’ll never lose one it ! Just make sure you keep the automatics well wound !
  14. Hi, I have one of the Omegas youve described and have used watchmaster. Their prices are a bit high but you do have the backup with them. If you know what your looking at then they can be bought cheaper. Depends if your buying just to have a great watch or as an investment . My advice would be to look at some of the pawnbrokers online and see if there are any good deals as at this time of year they are looking to offload pricey items.
  15. No I deer would be the one to ask as he’s the current British F class champ and used a SAUM !
  16. I find the k&m with dial force can be used very well to determine seating force variations .
  17. I use Hornady universal de capping due with my lap 6.5 SP cases with no issues at all .
  18. F class with a scope is FTR and is 308 or 233 with std Chambers and can use home loads or factory . F open is unlimited calibre up to 8 mm. There are weight limits and FTR has to be shot from a bipod . F open can use benchrest type front rests and have heavier weight limits. TR shooters are generally restricted to factory loads .
  19. Ok we might be confused here ? Are you talking TR with 308 and diopter sights or FTR which is the F class version in either 308 or 223 with optical sights ?
  20. Most serious FTR shooters reload their own and use heads 185 to 200 grains. I can’t vouch for different loads at different ranges but I use 185 on not so blustery days and 200’s otherwise. 30 inch barrels with a fast twist (1-9) are needed to get the most out of them though. There are some excellent FTR shooters on this site namely furry bean who was last years European FTR champ and are very helpful. Depends how well you want to shoot and how deep down the rabbit hole you want to go!
  21. I’m running 30mm Tier 1 short medium Height, 20 moa unimount. Scope is vortex razor 56mm with no issues whatsoever.
  22. Yes it works well no issues with it .
  23. I have the same rifle and you have to be spot in to keep it clean and the finish is prone to rusting. I cover mine now with silicone spray. As for barrel chamber cleaning I would recommend boretec eliminator as it not only removes copper but carbon which is worse in some cases. I now run wet patches and a nylon brush ( not bronze ) and keep going till no residue is apparent on patches. That seems to work for me and using a borescope shows me it’s getting rid of the carbon build up. Many would say different but it’s all personal choice but I don’t use any ammonia based cleaners now.
