  1. Ok that’s good speed . Rs70 is temp stable.
  2. Cheers Nick. I just find that the Norma brass lasts . I have lots of lap 6.5 284 necked up but water volume is lower than Norma and my load doesn’t shoot anywhere near as well as the Norma . So if I use the lap I’m going to have to tailor it to suit . Just wondered if the Peterson was any good.
  3. Don’t like thought of removing donuts from lap brass though Dan
  4. Thanks nothing wrong with lap 6.5 284 necked up but different volume from Norma. Just replacing my old norma and would need to redevelop load with lap brass. Just testing the water to see if it was worth a punt at it .
  5. Hi all . Has anyone any experience with Peterson 284 win brass ? Is it as good as Norma ? Any comments appreciated . Thanks . Pat
  6. They are March rings ( Tier 1) but it’s the rail that I’ve found is the culprit ! Always lap them for all I have .
  7. Hi all. Does anyone know if there is somewhere to hire scope ring lapping kit from for 34mm dia tubes ? Thanks
  8. It looks to me that your node at 43.4 is very similar to my tac with 140 Bergers. If your happy with that speed I would do some loads from say 43.3 to 43.7 in 0.1 g increments and see if you have minimal speed increase and pick the mid range of the node. I would suggest also to try a different primer as my experience is that Fed match or Muroms will give more consistent results. I run mine around the 2650 mark and have no issues. Others may say you need more speed but mine are good to a 1000yds without going faster. To go faster you’d need something else than RS62 as it’s about at its limits where you are.
  9. Well if you use unique find a load that shoots well then after about 25 rds push a tight dry patch through and check for lead residue. If there a slithers adjust the powder charge up and down (1/2 grain) You will find that there will be a load that reduces leading but still gives good accuracy. This is the norm for marlins especially with Ballard rifling others do it aswell. I did this with my neighbours new Marlin and two of my own many years ago. Is it a marlin you are using ?
  10. Seconded for Unique but HP-38 works well with all bullet weights. Depending what you shoot you can get 200 and 240g lead I various forms. Shellhouse bullets are a little soft but at low speed ok. For quicker speeds GM bullets are harder material. Around 7gts of HP-38 with a 240gt RNFP or TC is a good all rounder.
  11. Hi . Have you the neck thickness mic still available ?
  12. I have the sporter and just remove moderator for checking speeds . My predator 12 only adds about 15 FPS to straight barrel figures .
