  1. I If you're just using the HME target use of the Zero range is free. 🙂
  2. Couldnt agree more! With my latest rifle I ran quick load and got a nice mid range load for running the barrel in, but a few rounds through it an then took it out to 600yards seems to group well, then 1000y still good groups, so Im just going to stick with whats Ive got,

    .300PRC

Had it first real outing @900y this AM, once I sorted the wind things looked promising, I think i might skip load devlopment all together and stick with what I'm using.
  9. I like the hole idea.. Im there again on Saturday so i might give it a try.
  10. Once Ive sorted a load out I doubt it will ever see Century range again! I reckon it costs at least twice as much a trigger pull than my 6.5CM which happily shoots out to 1200yards with no HME issues. However I have an itch to shoot 1 mile plus, its a vanity thing I guess, i just want to say ive hit at 1 mile (without mentioning the number of misses it took to get there!) and what better way to spend my daughters inheritance in my declining years. thanks for tha advice laurie
  11. Its just 3 in the box? I wouldn't be able to put one in the aimimng point without a bit of hold under, and as my scopes parallax doesnt go that close its not that simple!
  12. I'd like to take it out to 2K (or as far as you can go at Orion/ Eskdalemuir), Its a 300PRC with 230g Bergers. Not Chrono'ed it yet as its had a grand total of 15 rounds down the barrel so far. I understand what you say about the elevation range, I think what I'll do is set it with a 100 yard zero even knowing i cant dial it down that far. I'll do it that was as I know my 300 600 900 1000 elevations for my 6.5CM, obviously one ive done my load development and its had a few more rounds through Ill get it chronoed by then I might have retired and I bought myself a March mini Genisis.

  14. Gents I took my brand new rifle to Bisley today to zero it is and carry on with barrel conditioning. I've got the rifle specifically to shoot at long range, so its got a 30moa rail on it. However because of Bisley HME rules its simpler to shoot it at 200 yards or less until its all dialed in. So today I shot it on the electronics at a 100 and with the scope turned all the way down it produced a nice group, according the screen 3.0 moa high. So my question is do I now enter this as an offset into Strelok or estimate the zero value i can reach (about 270yards) and use this? PS: If youve never shot at Bisley there are a few hoops you have to jump through every time you shoot 4500J rifle, and everone seems to have a different interprEtation of them.
  15. Funnily enough Im just about to pick up a 300PRC from Mik that hes built for me. For the moment Ive decided to stick to Gallery and 900yards+.
  16. Thanks, with shipping that is a bit steep for my needs. I might by another for £30 and see if I can beef it up a bit.
  17. Gents I currently use someting very similas to this to raise my rear bag to the required height. https://www.amazon.co.uk/StonyLab-Scissors-Stainless-Laboratory-Expandable/dp/B07QPR7KZZ/ref=sr_1_34_sspa?crid=Q3TYN2QUE3XO&keywords=scissor%2Bjack%2Blab&qid=1645472083&s=diy&sprefix=scissor%2Bjack%2Blab%2Cdiy%2C67&sr=1-34-spons&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExREFGQ1hVRTRRNklFJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMjMzOTE0MzhXWlVRSElEMjI0SSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNjA0NDQyMzJRRFVTRENKSklYTCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX210ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU&th=1 It works pretty well ( especially as it was about £30) but its a little bit flimsy/flexible. Anyone know of similar but sturdier?
  18. Very surreal at Bisley the morning, just me Shooting Olympic trap at 9am and not another shooter on the camp.. All the ranges closed as the power is still out. Fortunately the NCSS has a generator., hopefullly the power will be back soon.. but Id phone if youre not local and shooting tomoroow,
  19. Is Cottesloe open now on Saturdays? I'm sure it used to be closed? (but thinking about it I now understand why you cant shot there without a "guide". I guess they dont want you wondering out onto the Century/Stix
  20. Not sure if its the weather or Covid but Bisley seems quiet at the moment . I was there Saturday AM and was the only person shooting 900Yards, I then went to see some friends who were shooting on century and there only seemed to be about 10 people shooting 600yards.
