  1. It’s looking like I’m not going to be disappointed either way! Not heard of Era-Tac Shuggy, I feel a google coming on......
  2. Thanks fellas. Hopefully get a few more responses for this crude poll but at the moment I remain torn.....
  3. Just about to spend some hard earned cash on a new scope mount. I’m torn between the one piece offerings from Sphur or Tier One and wondered if others could offer their experiences on either or both? Both for a 34mm tube and 20ish moa cant come in around similar money, both on the face of it seem well designed and well made but Tier One is a British product and I’m swayed towards them for that reason if I’m honest. I’d be interested in others views if they’re happy to share either on this forum or via a pm.
  4. A genuine hazard Pops. I dry tumble in a well ventilated detached garage and also change the media regularly, carefully into a bag and subsequently the general waste bin. I mitigate the risk by never trying to bulk separate the brass from the media. I literally rummage through and pull each case out individually, again, whilst in the garage with the door open. I always thoroughly wash my hands afterwards before touching anything else in the house. I don’t notice any dust in the air during this process..... I know dead scientific that, but figure I’m not subjecting myself to regular exposure and I do have significant dilution ventilation. I’d never knock anyone for wearing a dust mask but I’d probably go for an FFP2 grade if I were choosing to wear one.
  5. Well.... a trip there worked wonders for me so I’m tending towards Double Diamond..... am I showing my age?
  6. I’ve got a 1kg tub of RS40 that I’d like to sell. Its had about 50 rounds out of it through my .223 as part of some load development. I got much better performance from RS52 so this needs to go hopefully to someone who can make use of it. I’d like £50 for it to be collected from my home address or potentially Bisley by prior arrangement as I’m there about once a month.
  7. What am I thinking about..... I was there Friday! I blame the percussion damage to my brain by some people’s muzzle brakes...... you know who you are 😁
  8. I spent the day there on Sunday along with a couple of the folks on this thread and had what I think was one of the best days shooting I’ve ever had and in truth, I probably missed more than I hit! Despite the misses or even because of them, the challenge of the weather and the terrain made for some great shooting. One of the highlights for me was not the real long range stuff but the small gong (is that 8”?) at 800 yards which was a real bar steward with that wind! I used far too much ammo on that target but great to see it swing when I connected with it. The facilities are great as they already are and if Marc manages to develop them as described then this will truly be a world class venue. I for one can’t wait to go back, I only wish it was 100 miles closer! Thanks Marc for all you’ve achieved here and I wish you all the best with this venue.
  9. Throw it away and get something decent. For the sake of a few quid you can transform your rifle. I highly recommend the KRG Bravo.
  10. A golden rule I have for my reloading practice is: If In Doubt - Chuck It Out.........

I’ve been using RS62 Scooby only because I have a load (if you’ll pardon the pun). Getting speeds around 2700. Ive heard tell of the blow ups No I Deer but those I know who shoot them have never experienced it. I read something on the internet the other day about touching the lands, so thought it must be true 😁 Seems there might be some mileage in it then? Thanks guys.

Yes and good point, 1:8 Subtle differences in build quality might be having an influence. Considering the Berger 140 hybrids as an alternative.... you might guess that I’m chasing the mile in a few weeks 😁. My 139 scenar favourites might be ok but just wanted another string to the old bow
  13. Hi folks, Im struggling to get a decent group with these fancy 147’s in my Howa 6.5 Creedmoor. Has anyone got a pet load for these that they wouldn’t mind sharing? Preferably someone with Howa experience. The same load my mate uses in his Tikka Tac A1 with deadly precision when replicated in my rifle gets at best a 2” group at 100 yards. Ive been seating about 10 thou off the lands to about 30 thou off, all with no real promise, and gone through my normal ladder test routine for charge weight. Since running out of bullets from my original box I hear seating to the lands might be a good thing to do for those rifles that struggle with these bullets when seated more traditionally a little way off. Before I buy another box it would be great to hear others experience, again, particularly if you’ve had success with them through a Howa. Thanks in advance
  14. Although I’m not one for airing dirty laundry publicly, I must admit, the decision making that has resulted in this exercise in self destruction is terribly sad. It was once a lovely little club with so much promise, I hope it does rise again but I sadly doubt it will.
  15. A real loss. My old Uncle Joe met her once in North Africa during the war and said she was simply lovely. He always called her horse face Vera though! A little bit of England gone forever, god bless her.
  16. Hi watch lovers, Toying with the idea of buying a Bertucci A2T watch for everyday wear, just wondering if anyone has any experience of this brand or the model? I like field watches for non formal wear and this American brand seems to offer a lot of watch for the money.
  17. Was a member there for several years, nice place for .22, pistol calibres and muzzle loaders. Does Peter Starley still have something to do with it? I remember popping round his place was always an exercise in adult banter 😁
  18. I recommend a read of the Cabinet Office strategy document on the .gov.uk web site. I doubt many people will bother including media pundits and tv hosts with opinion. It seems a logical and well formulated approach to me given the circumstances. I think what Joe Public want, and possibly those like Piers Morgan want, is a very descriptive set of rules, where you don’t have to worry about such troubling and disturbing things as effing thinking it through yourself and making an effing decision!
  19. Target shooting on pause was the key message I took from the NRA’s message the other day, I didn’t read September into that. All depends on the lockdown in reality though. Hoping that once the travel restrictions lift, regardless of Landmarc and NRA positions, we can at least get back onto places like Thorpe and Eskdalemuir.
  20. Nah, not really! Just got a good zero and had booked a stickledown session to really test it - that won’t happen now! Ah we’ll there’s always next year!
  21. Half way though some load development too for my 223 I’ll have forgotten my grand plan if I have to wait until then! Perhaps I’d better write it down 😁
  22. September! Crikey! Not had anything from the NRA, have you received an email?
