  1. I was surprised how few people replied to this thread seeing the humble 22 rimfire is probaly the most popular calibre ðŸĪ”. Don't be shy 😉
  2. Yes the cartridge does come out of the mag too the chamber on a steepish angle. I'm definately going to try some single loading groups
  3. Thanks. It's not something that occurred to me.. Intrested to see if single loading them reduces the group size 😎. Ah bullets rubbing together being cycled so damage to the bullet can occur top and bottom in the mag.. The bullet being fired launched through the barrel being cut by the grooves damage the bullet but on the bearing surface not the tip to the ogive.. a scuff could affect it's ballistic coefficiency.
  4. That's strange... Is the 26 inch barrel getting more performance out of them ðŸĪ”. I did think that all the powder is burnt way before it leaves a shorter barrel so it sounds like you have a dodgy batch.. I wish the eley subs would shoot in mine. I'd be happy with using any of the hollow point subs if they can nearly match the Eley match.
  5. What's the theory on this... Are you saying extracting the case marks the bullet in the mag next in line to be chambered...??
  6. I'd have a good go 😁. My accuracy expectations would be higher shooting benchrest than trying to shoot small off a pod with a 9 mag hunting scope
  7. I use a 10 shot mag. Load up 5 each time or how many I intend to shoot in the group..
  8. I have noticed that but did nothing about it.. 42gr winnie subs are like that.. I didn't notice that about the Norma subs but they probaly were. I will try a few groups like that 👍
  9. Shooting the 22 is challenging unless your shooting a benchrest rifle. Looking at the accurate shooter write-up 0.455 was the best 5 x 5 shot group average at 100yds with that rifle so off the bipod we're doing ok shooting 0.6/0.7 groups. My average over 6 groups was 1.033 oai. It looked to be 1 shot out of each group that opened It up 🙄. Keeps interesting and you trying.. As the lockdown eases we will be resuming f class shooting out to 1200yds again.. Looking forward to it ðŸĪĐ
  10. Came across this on accurate shooter.. a fancy bells and whistles rifle benchrested in what looks a tunnel range. 55 different brands of ammo tested and over 4000 shots fired.. 5 x 5 shot groups at each range. Eley match did well on all 3 disrances and was top at 100yds..
  11. Extra mag and fine cross or dot is needed for sure. What stock is that..?? Limited on stocks for the CZ452 as it has the action screw on the barrel. Boyds did do a tacticool stock for them and rimfire magic used to stock them..
  12. Thanks Rick.. What's your set up.. Bipod, bench, eared bag, prone etc etc.. What mag are you using on your scope..? I nearly took an eared bag Sunday but thought I'd be ok.. the eared bag would of definately took a bit of wobble away.. I will try an eared bag with a higher mag scope.
  13. With the eley match The widest group was 0.852 and the best was 0.560 oai which was the best group anyway so not bad at all seeing the crosshairs cover the aiming point. Only way of improving on that is with a higher mag fine crosshair scope.. My testing is done and happy with the eley match.. I will get a box of tenex to try.. My barrel is 20 inches
  14. Eley match group sizes centre too centre. 1.195 1.191 1.064 1.033 0.843 0.711 being the best one
  15. CZ452 From firing point it felt like a slight tail wind. By the target very slight breeze coming from 4 o'clock.. By the time I had finished it was about as calm as I gets. After the first 2 targets with eley match I had a good idea where my shots were going so I just used the 6th hash mark for all groups. Started on the white discs. Same order as previous test. Top and bottom discs are the same ammo.. White discs are 20mm Orange discs are 50mm. With the 9 mag leupy the crosshairs and hash marks cover the black diamond in the centre of the orange disc. I could just see small segments on the white discs.. side tracking as an instance.. the centre dot on my golden eagle that's on my f open rifle is probaly smaller than the 22 bullet holes on my targets.. When your blocking out your aim point it's not as accurate.. I thought the results were ok all things considered. My last eley match group on the last target is sub inch from outside to outside so around 0.750 oai.. It was a good bit of trigger practice.. Packed up and got my 6.5x47 out and had a wander towards some roe I could see.. They were heading my way.. 2 bucks and 4 doe's. Couldn't take any as my dealer isn't taking carcases so watched them for 10 minutes and went on home. I'll check the group sizes with my calipers shortly then report back.. I definately chose wisely too buy a 500 count lot of eley match.. I also know the 6th hash mark is good for just past 100yds.. I will play another day finding the distance for each hash mark.. I'd be intrested to see others group targets 👍 Atb NID
  16. Got some targets but I'm still out.. These 2 are eley match at 100yds.. Rather than adjusting the turrets I fired 1 shot using the 5th hash mark and I couldn't believe how central it was.. shame the rest didn't follow.. on the right-hand side group I used the 6th hash mark.. to bring the group up
  17. 50yds again. Might get to try 100yds later. I might have to get a higher mag scope just to see how well I can get them too shoot. The ammo making companies need to produce hollow point ammo to this capability.. I'd be happy to pay extra
  18. The high shot with the eley match was probaly shooter error. Really pleased with how they shoot. Worth the extra money 👍
  19. Went out this afternoon but it was bloody windy though where I was had a little shelter.. Tried the new eley hollow subs again.. more to just blow them off.. Poo as usual. Shot a few groups with the eley match (top group) Bottom groups eley subs
  20. It will shoot much better now 😉
  21. ðŸĪĢ😆 Come Rich write it so we can understand it ðŸĪŠ
