Looks like our negative comments regarding people making vast profits from selling primers have been removed. Just keep trying local shops and also RFDs that deal from home etc . Found one local to me and prices were pretty normal. And he has regular stock delivery, more reliable than some of the big guns so I’ll keep using him up near Durham. Buy in bulk and enjoy your shooting.

There’s some nice fishing kit that might be useful at go outdoors. Aim bag can hold rifle, ammo , bipod , tools , rain cover Aim made for the bag or to cover the rifle itself, Often put rifle in a pelicase it’s heavy but has wheel s so it’s easy to drag and can strap a target to it (16x48” ) rest of gear and a flask and sarnies go in a big rucksack.

Nothing in the hornady manuals . Accurate shooter or the 65 guys might be worth a look. Mostly people are using upto 140 s . A few American people have info but nothing with our powders . Search for 6.5x47 with 147 eldm load data . Looks to be around 38 to high 39 grain of most of the common American powders cheers

Might work better with the normal pistol grip configuration though . Good luck mate

Tried one on my AT thumbhole stock on the left hand side and wasn’t impressed , seemed to be a long reach to the thumb step . Also you don’t have much grip on the stock . Don’t think it suits my hand size/ grip shape. Size 10 or large gloves . Save some money and don’t bother.

N135 should suit your 130 grain bullets. Very happy with this powder in my 308 for 155 hornady eldms and the old amax design s . Accuracy international AT 26” barrel likes 42.5 -43 grain area , for 2800 fps . N150 for the 175 and 185 Berger bullets both seem to prefer 44.5 grain s . cheers

Latest eley subs are rubbish in my anschutz 1416 so went back to rws or Winchester subs and all is well again. Original eley subs were great, 40 grain but only 38 on the scales, new range ones are advertised at 38 but my last lot when I pulled a bullet we’re only 36 grain s so a little light and hence they go crack rather than phut. SK do some great types . Tenex didn’t feed from the mag very well as they are a blunt shape. Lapua are also very good if you can find them. Good luck

Light gathering qualities and tactical reticles maybe?? Oh and we all like to think we are snipers. Possibly also not much choice for high end scopes that tick all the boxes . Some manufacturers are now looking at specific longrange models so hopefully more choices will be available. Just my opinion!!

What size matchkings and how much powder pls

Bh firearms in the Durham area have plenty . Just spent loads on N 150/ 140 and a thousand of rws lrp and a1000 srp federal normal grade. Great bloke to deal with. But it’s a bit of a drive . Try your local independent rfds . There’s gear out there but not necessarily at big shops .

I’m using the Forster bump bushing dies in 308 and 223 and find with normal sized lapua brass I’m using the biggest die to get the correct neck tension of 2 thou. Bullets slide in very smoothly with very little resistance. If I started to neck turn my cases then the tighter dies would do the job . I’m in agreement with popspengo regarding accuracy. LE Wilson do very nice dies but they’re full length bushing bump . Last lot of 308 lapua cases were near to 20 times reloaded so making things very cheap. Never annealed and only length trimmed when necessary. Primer pocket s were getting looser so finally ditched them for a new set of the same.

Fireform cases after new lapua brass has been mandrel sized . Then Forster bushing and bump neck sizer . Only problem is the rounds only fit one rifle . Not a problem in my case.

Into gel the eley and Winchester expand to about 8mm diameter. They do pass through rabbits but can’t tell how much they can expand in such a short distance through a rabbit’s body of 3 to 4 inches wide?? . All depends on the hardness of the lead .

I used to swear by eley subs in my anschutz but the newer 38 grain subs often go crack so I’ve changed to the RWS subsonic hollow points and they are much quieter and consistently quiet. Winchester subs are also good. Both types of ammo will need the point of impact re zeroing and work out your new drops . StrelokPro is useful for this .

Use them as bait to control the foxes.

I’m allowed to leave rabbits for the local birds of prey on two farms . The other farms need them picked up. Mostly go to a friends dog . Could breast the pigeons out for dogs or yourself if they’re woodies. Small amounts in the bin work s. Enjoy

Tried to dump rabbits at the local tip once and got caught. Told I’ll have to take them back and get a licence to get them incinerated. They went in the wheely bin in a black bag . You’ll need a plan and risk assessment for the shooting and one for getting rid of whatever is shot . Mostly to do with how they are handled and PPE to be used .

223 lapua match brass was much easier to size than the 308 . A little wax on the inside of the case neck dabbed on with a finger did the trick . Ready for reloading after a bit extra inside chamfering.

K and M do some nice stuff also the ARC Dies at wildcat mods look great. Might do some neck turning in the future so a k&m set would be worth looking into, probably starting with the 308 . Is it worth the effort if I can already get a 1” group at 300 yards.

Hi all The LE Wilson 223 mandrel turned up today from bisleyvshop. Great service from Brian . The giraud three way trimmer s are working great too . Got a lot of sizing to do this weekend.

Just for info guys and gals . loaded 100 308 lapua new cases and found them very hard to push the bullet into the case . Even had marks/ deformed bullets with the effort needed. Bought a L E Wilson mandrel die and found all the other100 case’ s needed a good amount of re sizing. So the moral of the story is resize lapua brass back to the proper size and save yourself having to fire form them . The quality ain’t what it used to be .
