It’s shooting lead free Nosler E-Tip factory ammo sub 1/2”. I’ve only got a dozen shots down it so far.
Most pleasingly it weighs just 11lb with a mod and double pull Cyke Pod.
It was a jolly good day out, great company, great shooting and given the conditions a proper challenge. Wifey has enjoyed all her visits to Gardners, especially her first SIS match, as some of the things she’s worked hard at started to click. It’s brilliant seeing more female shooters getting involved.
Be aware that mags without a binder plate can be a pita for feeding when the bullet gets stuck under the feed ramp. Even loading 150's I've never needed to load a Creedmoor so long it wouldn't work in a mag with the binder plate. The 10rd MDT ones are a bit shorter than the Accurate Mags as they're double stack so allow more ground clearance, the 12rd MDT mags are the same length but have more space for ammo!
There's a useful diagram here - https://mdttac.ca/308-6-5-creedmoor-mdt-metal-aics-magazine-12-rnd/
Just another tool in the box, I use mine mostly when night time shooting and have done the past few years. Their importance for shooting off in precision rifle shooting is massively over estimated by people who don't understand how to use them, the biggest advantage in those scenarios is use as a rear support.
It’s super rigid, I’d be happy shooting matches with it as well as hunting - They’ve been out flattening foxes most nights thus year including tonight.
Small ammo, small spaces, large hands, it's an ordeal. As above I'll look for a single shot adapter, shouldn't be a problem as it sounds like a fun competition.
I’ve bought two and love them, it’s really well thought out. The choice of pistol grips and not needing to remove the cheek piece to remove/replace the bolt is a nice touch. The whole thing is a great package.
