  1. Why single shot ? I have a 6mmBr barrel on one of mine, and a mag conversion. Works perfectly.
  2. When on a rifle range, there is a certainty, you will hear guns going bang.
  3. A 1-8" will still shoot the 58 grain v-max. Its about all I ever fit to .243's as it will cover all bases .
  4. Nope, nope , nope. The threads haven't seized. Carbon from the brake sticks at certain points inside the moderator, acting as a "key" which locks. If its jammed solid [and they almost never are ] it needs soaking to soften the carbon. The very common mistake most people make, is forgetting its a l/h thread, or removing the brake/mod and putting it in the vice, but still trying to remove it the wrong way. I've had 3 the same recently, all apparently "seized solid" They were'nt. People do not clean the mods as they should, and its this lack of maintenance that causes the problem. The mod should have all carbon removed from the rear brake orifice, EVERY time its been used. Remove the O ring and clean that, and its groove, then a finger of grease wiped all around the inside will help stop the issue again.
  5. Think I have stock, also got the steel 25 round ones.

I use the CPD 6.8's Dave. Brownells, if they have any. I'll check if I have any in stock, and they could go via our man .
  7. Yep, mine, I can do them in that thread, no problem.
  8. I think you will be hard pressed to find anything light enough to stabilise in what is indeed, a 1-14" twist. The general rule of thumb when wanting to shoot solids, is to go one full inch/twist faster , than you would for a jacketed bullet.

Grendel mags won't work Dave, the cartridges are not the same diameter. The 6.8 mags usually require a tweak, but will work once addressed. Thats quite stunning accuracy with factory ammo. any idea on the barrel twist ? Bet its a 1-6.5" or a 1-7?.
  10. Really ? The rifle will be built and sold , here in the UK.
  11. All the rifles you see "on test" are PRE PRODUCTION PROTOTYPES. The rifle hasn't been released yet, so quite why people are taking orders and giving prices , is beyond me.
  12. here's the win mag on the left.......
  13. This is a .308 tikka. A donor action, which was then fitted with a Sassen cut rifled blank , I think at 30" [ not got the specs at home ] Usual m18 x 1 and invisible capped. Metalwork in Graphite black cerakote. Trigger is a tuned and resprung std model. This was then fully bedded in a McMillan A3-5, and also a tier one DBM, machined out and bedded in at the same time, running a 10 round mag. 20 moa rail. A 1000 properly capable .308
  14. One of last weeks finished guns. A .300 PRC. I can see this becoming a very popular cartridge , once the Lapua brass arrives. Its got a good 300 fps on the win mag, and doesn't have crappy belted brass. This is built on the last of 3 McMillan actions I had, and I swore I would never sell the last one, but i've too many guns anyway. Its the beautiful G30 action, as graceful as a swan, just look at that beautiful swept bolt handle.. A 30" Sassen cut rifled barrel, with a 1-9" twist is onboard, with an M18 x 1 muzzle thread and invisible cap, and one of my self timing brakes. Fitted with a Bit n Andy tacsport trigger, and sat in a long action MDT ACC chassis. Bead blasted finish.
  15. The TRG is a simple job, and about a month turnaround. If it needs a new barrel, it needs one, despite what whoever says. A pal had a 338 and it went south at 800 rounds. One of the lands decided to exit stage left, which is typical of a hammer forged barrel. as for being tight ? Guess I must have bigger arms than most.
  16. I have a boxful of toolhead/throwers etc for a 550 Gaz, if you are interested.
  17. AXMC. If you want to ring me to discuss, that would be fine, during working hours.
