Nice group, is that a representative size group for that load?

Bet that's a sweet little varmint caliber. What bullet are you using at what speed?

Have you got a photo of a loaded.round?

Hi I'm running these in the lower velocity node at about  3600 fps but there is a higher node but this does the job for me so why put the pressures up , the bullet is a 39 grn sierra blitzking , I'll try and get a pic on tomorrow of the loaded round.

Isn't a 20-222 a vartarg turbo

Probably shoulder and/or body taper difference? a la 20prac v 20tac. 223 is a 23deg shoulder, so assume parent is too, VTT is probably 30deg?

24"  barrel and the twist if my memory serves me is a 1 in 10.5 or might be a 1 in 11.5 , I would have to check

No.   Vartarg Turbo is based on the 222 magnum case,  as is the 204 Ruger I believe.

A

No. You’re mistaken, Alycidon. The 20 Vartarg is a necked down 221 Fireball, the 20 Vartarg Turbo is a necked down 222 Rem.

I was going to go for the vartarg turbo but a quick chat with mr kershaw decided on the vartarg was built on a 17 fireball action by baldie an what a gun it is accounted for plenty of foxes with an archer

They are all little crackers.

If you wants the silly speeds, then the 20 Br is the ultimate.

I've built half a dozen over the years, and everyone loved them.

If i had a use for another .20, i wouldn't hesitate.

The 222/223 cased variants all work nicely on that sized action, with virtually no mods to mags etc, but the tiny ones such as the vartarg etc, require the mini actions to feed.

The cz 527 and the rem 17FB actions are perfect.

Cz do a factory 221 magazine for the 527, which is readily available.

Haven't used a Howa, but they do a mini action also.

I much prefer the .20's to any of the .17's personally.

You dont get barrel fouling problems, and the supply of .20 cal blanks, and also gucci bullets is far better.
