  1. Sorry Al, been cleaning pond out all evening and only just seen your texts and messages here, I'm not going to bother going on about this but the last point, why would I not take your bank details to pay you for something that I was willing to buy off you, you said you didn't do PayPal so you were only offering bank transfer, how would I have paid you if I didn't take your details?? So what's funny about that??? I don't understand the point!! Anyway I've not said you're a scammer, we've both lost out here thanks to Hermes, so keep my Β£45 and send it to a charity, then we've both lost out, but a charity will gain, just put a pic up of a charity receipt on here and that will be fine, sortedπŸ‘
  2. No, Β£45 was Β£50, I lost a bet with my wife for a fiver who said after a couple of weeks that I wouldn't get my bullets or refund, and I'm not worked up about anything pops, like I said I'm more pi@#ed off with Hermes.
  3. Yep, you're right mate, like the man who's had my money, as he's got my address he could send me a cheque in the post for refund couldn't he, but that's not been suggested, I've asked him to deal with Hermes as he's the one who's got my money and sent the goods and could possibly claim from Hermes, but not heard from him since Saturday.
  4. Yep my parcel wasn't cheap Β£9 odd if if remember correctly, but it got there next day no problem which was the important bit.
  5. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚I didn't notice that 😱
  6. Strange, I sent a parcel at the post office a few years ago which was was 1504 long and the lady behind the counter said sorry it's 1500 maxπŸ˜• so I stood it on end and pushed down on it and said there you go now its 1498mmπŸ˜€, to her reply "oh well what's a few mm amongst friends"as she took it in.
  7. Sounds about right with Hermes pete. Same here with post office, mostly 1st class signed for, never been let down.
  8. DPD used to be diabolical with us but seem to have got their act together lately, just need to find out who delivered a parcel Friday afternoon that was definitely checked out to see contents, box was open a bit and the strong woven bag inside had been cut to see what was Inside, amazingly the lead weights were all still there.
  9. Bank transfer might be fairly secure, but if you don't get delivered what you've paid for, do you really want to give your bank details to a someone you don't have a clue about for a refund, I don't and won't, mabey I'm just being over cautious now, but the last person on this forum who sent me pulled bullets with crimp marks and buckled necked down cases didn't refund me a small amount that HE insisted I have, then never sent!! WTF was that about. PayPal has surely got to be best, as you don't need to give your bank details to someone who could be a scammer, not that I'm implying that this person is as he provided tracking number and has offered a refund, I'm more pi@#ed off with Hermes for still not replying back to me when promised 😀, and we always get a txt from Hermes to say our parcel has been delivered, quite often to no parcel that's been dropped off at our house, drive 1/2 mile up our track to find it chucked in the grass, to@#ers. So in future anyone selling something on this forum that i want, won't be getting any of more of my hard earned.
  10. Do Not use Hermes, some bullets I bought off a forum member at the beginning of may have not been delivered to my address and after calling Hermes and waiting 25mins for someone to speak to, finally getting through, I was told it had not left their depot and would be investigated as to where it is, and was promised an email within 5 days to let me know about the parcel, almost another week later and no email has arrived, same as parcel. Another phone call to Hermes, on hold for 15mins and gave up, I've better things to do than waste my life hanging on the telephone to a useless bloody delivery company that hasn't the decency to fulfill their promised email to me. And for anyone paying for goods, don't pay by bank transfer like I stupidly did, I was given a Hermes tracking number, and have been offered a refund by the seller, but I'm not prepared to hand over my bank details for the sake of Β£45. So be warned do not use Hermes they are cheap, and don't give a toss about their customers.
  11. I always have a bit of brass in the bolt face on my howa 204 after shooting, last night one shot, one little chip of brass in there when I cleaned it, but I don't worry about it, the bolt always closes on my properly fl sized brass, one of a few reasons for a tight bolt close is a proud primer are you both making sure your primers are seating just below case head surface?
  12. Steve, if you you have some tight cases that you've sized and would like me to run them through my die to see how they chamber pm me , also a couple of your recently fired cases would be handy and I can measure them too.
  13. Hi Steve, I don't understand why you're getting variations in your case prep if you have your Redding s bushing die set up properly to achieve bolt close without being tight on a fl sized case, are you still putting the cases through a body die after fl sizing ? Have you got cartridge headspace gauges and callipers to check head space? You shouldn't be happy with a tight bolt close, you need to get that sorted out.
  14. I wouldn't buy a pulsar axion xm30s, i looked through an axion xm30 recently and if it's the same i thought the field of view was crap, would rather have my quantum lite xq30v any day.
  15. Steve, throw that forming die away and just use the Redding type s fls die, set up to properly fls the cases so that you just get bolt to close without resistance. You say you've discarded the tight cases when running them through your chamber, set up your die and resize them, then try shooting them again.
  16. Yep 20 practical is just a necked down 223 case, if it's the same rifle mentioned in my 20 practical post then baldie built it, and that will be the same reamer used to chamber mine as Steve Kershaw borrowed it from Dave, and yes when the shoulders were bumped back 2 thou on my cases with a body die it fattened them up somewhere so they would not chamber, that's why I had to fls them all again with the Redding die to get bolt drop.
  17. 20 practical is not a factory round, so not possible!!
  18. Steve, a mate gave me 200+ federal cases that were once fired in his sako 85 (factory ammo), so before I got my rifle I thought might as well get all the cases sized for 20 prac and ready to load, I was hoping I'd get away with just bumping the shoulders back 2 thou from my mates fired Cases in his chamber, so borrowed his 223 body die and set them all 2thou back, but when I got rifle back and checked to see if bolt would close on the cases it was too tight so had to resize the whole lot again in the Redding s bushing die, just kept dropping die a bit until no resistance on bolt, had no problems with extraction. How are you using the body die? After sizing with the Redding s bushing die ?
  19. Nice one jc, bet that made you smile when you saw that go offπŸ˜€, one magpie i shot there were 9 yds between where it's head and tail were laying, that made meπŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€, one I'll not forget tooπŸ˜ƒ
  20. No probs mate, hopefully you'll get your extractor sorted out, bloody annoying when something doesn't work right, if you don't get it fixed i would call Steve for a chat about the custom bolt it really is nice.
  21. There you go outlanda πŸ‘
  22. Hi outlands, I have a 20 prac built on a rem sa, and decided to do away with the original bolt and have a fluted custom bolt fitted which I'm sure had a sako extractor fitted, it's smoth as silk, wasn't cheap but worth every penny imo. Steve Kershaw did the build, I'll put the thread up to top of page on varmint rifle's and heavy plinkers for you, there's a couple of pics on there which will show you the bolt.
  23. If you lads don't have any luck with mph I have a Third eye 20moa rem s/a rail, a few marks where mounts bolted on, and don't have screws.

    Case prep

That's how I do it, k&m primer pocket uniformer, tumble clean then k&m in the battery drill for a quick primer pocket clean out, always get a bit of brass in with the carbon taken out . Stops that odd round with a slightly proud primer not letting the bolt close. Miki mentioned about pressure compressing the head and the primer pockets shrinking, i think that's exactly whats happened with my 204, the last time I tried to clean the pockets most of the cases I tried I could not hold the case the k&m was so tight I gave up, never had that before, and the only thing different that I can think of is the powder I'm burning is now different!!!
