  1. Rich , your magneto speed will go on a wildcat no problem .
  2. Richie , im going to have a Couple of foxing sessions with my 6.5 CM TRG this weekend instead of my .223 just for a change , I normally like to use Berger classic Hunter which shoots like a laser , but I have found just under half a box of 140 ELD so I will load them up and give them a go 👍👍
  3. Yes they will both shoot the same. the stainless should be harder waring but that of course depends on how you treat it and your cleaning habits I have a stainless t3x for 3 years out in all weather conditions but looked after. Had no rust issues at all. It’s now on its second barrel. personally I think the stainless Tikkas do look better but that is of course nothing more than subjectively
  4. All stainless steels can rust , stainless steel is rust resistant not rust proof .
  5. The very reason I bought one with a clamp on was to hold the rifle. Using a tripod with a bean bag instead of a clamp is all well and good if your shooting a PRL comp jumping all over settees , garden walls while doing a handstand oh and you don’t mind the dirty looks from other competitors. But I really don’t want to be fumbling around in the dark trying to balance a rifle on top of a beanbag whilst trying to secure a tripod all while trying to call a fox in to the gun and then having to keep lifting it up and down in between but if that’s what you want that’s fine. But I want something I can set up with all my NV gear in a position while I’m scaning the field with my thermal and calling foxes. Talking on phone to boss ( land owner) and the occasional visit to the little boys room. I don’t want to be lugging a rifle all over the place. I might as well just use a bi pod and slinging the whole thing over the bonnet. but like I said these are the reasons why I bought the type I did i think this is just another one of those situations where you have to work out what your needs are and what your expectations from using a tripod are dont for a minute think there comparable to shooting off a good bipod prone or a bench … there really not and there is a different skill set required to shoot very long distances with them accurately and consistently . But I’m not shooting benchrest of F class so no need to dwell. I will say they are NOT for everyone, in hunting applications I know plenty who would rather a good set of sticks . So try ( if possible ) before you shell out your hard earned. I always found that Mr 260 rips gave a good explanation and the benefits of using a tripod for the same reasons I did and it would seems for the same reasons you want one .
  6. Hello mate . I would have to say the Rekon carbon fibre one 👍 got mine from Scott county I was a little doubtful at first as my rifles are quite weighty especially when fully kitted up with NV or thermal . But this is a really sturdy and light piece of kit . I use mine exclusively for foxing and lambing and found it to be an absolute godsend. Also very handy on these summer evenings when your doing a bit of long range varminting . here’s mine easily taking my TRG and there a big old girl . You can see from the close up what sort of Mount it is , hog or pig saddle I’m not too sure . All I know it’s the one that come with it and it work brilliantly.
  7. did you get any more data on the 73gr ? what sort of MV ?
  8. Well finally got a bit of free time before we start harvest Monday or Tuesday weather permitting. And I managed to get hold of some SK match to try out . I didn’t want to change my zero so just used the same aim point . was going to do 50/100 m but I done 60m as that’s the zero for my rimmy any . And just for a giggle 180m however that just turned into a guessing game as I was using a white target and with the sun shining on it I have half a clue where I was hitting as I couldn’t see impacts but it was good fun .and I have to say I really do rate the SK 👍 So suns out guns out . And some good old Tenex .
  9. Bloody hell 😯 glad to hear your ok apart from the cuts in your pics , there heal though 👍 while I have never had this happen to me , I have had lots of times where primers have got themselves snagged up and been crushed when using my RCBS auto prime i often thought this could happen, you just take it for granted until you see something like this . A great reminder. I now use one of these and feel much happier.
  10. Well that’s a very impressive start terry 👍 just out of curiosity my local is starting to stock SK. Which would you say would be a good starting point. They have nearly the whole range in and I don’t have a clue where to start really.
  11. Yes that really is very nice. And I would imagine a big heap of cheap fun too feeding wise. Will be looking forward too reading your reports at 500 yards. min the meantime are you post up some 50/100 yard groups be good to see how she stacks up 👍
  12. Yes it’s very nice glass and perfect for long range. It’s nice and light to for a 35 mm scope. Tracks perfectly and the zero stop is a pleasure.
  13. I run a leupold mk5HD 5 - 25 x 56 IR ( currently sat on my tac A1 at min . very nice long range scope with massive elevation.
  14. I just use my drone . knicked the idea from the Mark and Sam after work shooting vids . great if your shooting mutiple targets/steels
  15. your not wrong .. Fantastic shooting Rick 👍👍👍 I was toying with the idea of putting my Zee Comp on the anni for a laugh and shooting some long long range groups but its just started 5issing down here .
  16. Are you testing your 73 grain loads today Richie ? be interested to know how you got on 👍
  17. Here you go buddy https://riflemags.co.uk/wr-tikka-t3-t3x-fit-10-round-aluminium-223-magazine-extra-col/
  18. Looking good 👍 I don’t have that problem. All my rifles hunting/foxing are single shot or have single shot converters in the magazine. If I’m shooting at night I will only single load anyway , or on the rare occasion I have a lamp man don’t like using a mag . Just an old habit really , I just don’t like fumbling around with a magazine in the dark. Plus I know that when I take the round out I know the rifle 100% safe . I have seen and heard of to many people going home and still have a round in the mag or go to stick it there case and suddenly realise there was one in the chamber … doh 🙄 like I say one of my old habits .
  19. Hi Richie . when I had my standard 1-8 barrel I was using following RS 52 =24.4 grains N140 = 25.3 both loads where with CCI 450 primers sat at 1.915 CTBO ( 15 thou jump ) 1.5 thou bump 2 thou neck tension 30 deg neck chamfer
