I've shot both bullets in my 284 at around 2800fps.. I've not done a side by side comparison but they both shoot great.. Scenars don't blow up if pushed like the ELDM'S can/do. I've not lost one at 2800fps but I know some who have going over 2850fps.. My saum blows them up at 2950fps. Since my last blow up I've put 700 or more bergers through my saum without an issue..

I use N160 in my 26 inch bartlein.. Currently use the 180gr ELDM's. 54grs gets me 2800fps at 51f when I chronied the load.. It shoots them lovely.. I've used 180gr scenars and 180gr hybrids which also shot superbly.. Tried the hybrids on RS60 and 52grs would take them too 2880fps.. This powder is a barrel burner apparently to I never used it many times.. It was very good though.. N165 was good too but a little slower than N160

Hi Rich. I use H1000 in my 7mm 270.. 67.5grs of it behind a 180 hybrid. Very little left about now.. When mines all gone ill switch too N165

Decided to sell my Bipod.. It has the tension screw and rubber shoes.. I bought it from somebody who had it with a Accuracy International AWM and it was unused... I got the rubber shoes for it and used it a few times off the roof of my pickup.. £165 inc postage I'd swap for a Atlas bipod with the BT AI spigot thing and a cash difference

In my experience there's 1 and it's up a bit high.. An extension lead is a good idea as I found it a pain setting the kettle up

Try a different primer.. Different neck tensions work from whatever heard and read.. I was always led too believe the 300wsm was easy too tune.. I've not been there yet. 7mms do the job with less recoil

Whatever you go for make sure you have a good stock of the bullets you want first.

A 300 win mag with the right twist. Personally I like the 7mm's in the form of a saum or a 7mm 270 but you'd need a magnum bolt face... I too have a 284 with a 26 inch barrel I use for 1000yds snapshooting which has the same bolt face as a 308 but its a long action which is your main prob being you have a short action. I guess you could single feed
