That's a fair price for 3 opened boxes that are 3 different lot numbers 😉 -

Not been outwith the 22 for a month or more.. I shot 3 groups.. 2 with the new lot of eley match that are dreadful and fired just 3 of the good batch I've only about 85 left... Not wasting them -
I just opted for N160 for the extra speed as accuracy wasn't a problem.. I took it up another 1.5grs or more but the groups opened up.. I use 162gr eldx's too on 54.8grs I think that will send them over 2900fps. N165 used too push the 162gr amaxs about 2840fps if my memory serves my right. Top speed you need RS60.. I did go out too 52.5grs behind a 180gr hybrid.. Proper fast but showed pressure.. Brass would soon be scrap.. I've had 15 firings from lapua brass.. Necks started snapping off from wear from a couple of neck turns

I've shot N165 and N160. I prefer the N160 as its a bit faster. My 26 inch bartlien will launch a 180gr bullet at around 2800fpfs on a mild day... 2830fps or more on a warm day.. RS60 is really good too. 51.8grs will gets me 2880fps. All 3 powders give great accuracy.. I used the RS60 180gr hybrid load in the last club match as the match before I lost 3 x 180gr ELDM's on the way too the 600yds target. The first ones in my 284.. It was a coldish morning and my bal cal was showing 2770fps in the current temps.. I'd not used the RS60 load for 3.5 years or more..!! I loaded them a few thousandths longer and gave them a whirl.. They shot like a laser. Way better than I'd hoped

I use that same scale.. Use the powder thrower too throw within 0.5grs and trickle the rest with my finger tips.. I'm ok with doing it like that..

Recommended action for .284Win F Open rifle

I've used my 26 inch tikka 284 for f open when my saum was off being rebarreled.. It's my main hunting rifle but it's a sako heavy profile barrel fitted by Neil Mckillop and bedded into a Manners T4A stock by Ronin.. It's always been a very accurate rifle.. I had too use a mod as I usually shoot it on the range with a muzzle brake but there not allowed In f class.. I used scenars and it shot great. I attached a piece of anschults rail to the end of the stock and attached a front bag rider.. worked a treat -

There's some cracking 51m groups there 👏 👏. I know from my own experience finding the right lot of ammo is so crucial.. My CZ452 wasn't ment too be a tac driver but with the right ammo it can be.. It looks like the custom barrel is the way forward for ultimate accuracy. -
-
My do it all rifles are zeroed with a mod on for hunting and I do the adjustments on the range with muzzle brakes on A 6.5x47 and a 284.. The 284 is better for the longrange stuff.. 23.5 inch barrel on the 6.5x47 so it lack velocity
-
For me it would be a 26 inch barrelled 284.. Shoots superb out past 1000yds with 180gr bullets.. Use 162gr bullets for hunting...

A neck tension mandrel might push most of it out.. If the bearing surface of your bullet doesn't go near the doughnut its not a problem.. If your that bothered about it get an inside neck reamer and skim the doughnut out.

Does anybody know what bullet the CZ457 LRP was headspaced for..?? Eg.. Tenex or say lapua centre x -
It's called the domino effect
-
It may be short lived accuracy as the barrel has done nearing 2300 shots. I'll likely shoot it until it dies but not in a big match. It's always shot the Atips like this until I started on a new powder.. I didn't try it for accuracy with the new batch of powder only chronied it.. It was that much slower I thought it best too get speed up too where it did like it.. Still likes it at that velocity..!!
-
Yes I'd agree.. It too was enough to give a paracetamol a headache
-
Retested the 190gr Atip load I tried last weekend and they repeated nicely today..!! I tried upping the load by 0.2grs and the bolt had a very slight resistance and the group was horizontal so I'll stick with the first load. Again 5 shot group at 100yds

I've put on the deresonator tuner ready too try to improve the accuracy of the new lot of ammo. Josh on pursuit of accuracy was attempting to beat f class John's score in his f class set up on josh's latest video using his vudoo off the pod and sk standard ammo not his lot tested eley match and it still shot well speed shooting.. I'd like to see how he speed shoots his best ammo.. -

Not looking forward to my next outing after how the new batch of eley match shot... I called up the gunshop I buy my ammo from today and he had 1 box of 50 of the good lot.. I said keep them for me.. My fac is away so i couldnt have them. The rest was the same new crappy batch I have.. I did ask if he'd swap and he would of if he had the good lot.
