  1. Yeah the MME bullets are very good. And I like the fact that you’re supporting a local, independent chap, not some massive organisation based in the US. Im not sure what twist your .300wm will be, but mine being an AI with a fairly slow 1-11” likes the 200gn a lot. Personally I think the 208gn ELDM was just too long to stabilise properly. However that could have been the shape, rather than weight. I might ask Peter if he could do a 220gn Wimbledon bullet. However, the 200gn has shot nicely and will still do well at distance. I liked VN165, nice and clean burning. Didn’t really get any pressure signs with it. Recoil impulse felt nice and comfortable, not sharp like some powders can be.
  2. 174gn PPU. worked best with my No4 Longbranch 2 groove. I did try the 180gn S&B bullets but found the 174gn grouped better when I did the OCW test at 100m and also seemed to stabilised better and were more consistent at distance (300m). Using Murom LR primers, PPU brass and Vhit N140.
  3. Webley Tracker now gone, awaiting handover. Diana 52 still here. It’s a great gun and I’m sure something a gunsmith could fix very quickly. It is free after all 😎
  4. Thanks 👍 Excellent for getting youngsters into shooting & learning safety.
  5. That’s right…both lovely air rifles are free if you want them. Collection Newport or Monmouth Tunnel club only pls! Webley Tracker, 22cal, right handed, nice walnut stock with slight scratch/chip on forend. Comes with Webley sound moderator and 30mm (I think!?!) rings. This was my first hunting rifle, which I got for my 11th birthday. Taken plenty of rabbit and grey squirrel. My late father’s Diana 52, 22cal, right handed. Bog standard stock, some use marks. Also comes with sound moderator (unknown make). Comes with 30mm (I think?!?) rings. There is an issue with this gun - gun will cock (cocking arm does appear to go all the way back) but doesn’t for some reason go forward again to close breech and fire. I think there’s something with the safety ratchet system which stops the breech going forward should you accidentally let go of the cocking arm as you’re charging the spring. Dunno. Anyhoo…both free if you want them.
  6. Randomly came across a brilliant 70s Swiss infantry promotional video. Brilliantly put together. Even the music is top draw!
  7. If you’re referring to the more expensive ‘Full Auto’ version, then you won’t need it - as you’re not firing full auto. Their regular moddy cover will melt if using on something like an M4 doing full mag dumps. Which you’re not, so don’t need to worry about it. 👍
  8. Yeah pretty good. Significantly better than without one. But I’d say most of these covers are pretty similar to each other. Most use 1000D Cordura for the outside material and the same heat/flame resistant inner liner. I think the key difference between the various makers is the fitting system. Some are fully stitched so you slide it over the mod and use those strickta/bungee chords. Some have Velcro straps but the buckles are plastic with various degrees of strength. I like the Cole Tac, partly because you can customise your mod cover & straps, but mainly because the cover has 4x straps and with metal buckles you can ratchet them down so the cover doesn’t shift. The cover is also custom made to measure, so it’s a perfect fit.
  9. https://coletac.eu I have several and they’re excellent - you can really ratchet down the straps so the cover is tight on the mod so it won’t budge. With the ‘Metal Python Cover’, the clips are steel, so no fear of bending or snapping. Again, made to measure in a variety of colour combinations.
  10. I’m S Wales based. I don’t know of any FClass or FTR clubs down this way, but then I don’t shoot those disciplines and might be out of the loop. Sennybridge isn’t a FClass/FTR setup, they’re field firing ranges or specific ranges mostly with SARTS or reactive targetry. You could practice for FClass/FTR but I’d say less than ideal. The clubs that use Sennybridge, Rogiet and others around here are mostly simple target shooting. There is Barry Island Tunnel shooting club, some of those members do load development for FClass/FTR sometimes, but really go on to Bisley to shoot properly and to compete. There aren’t FClass/FTR competitions down this way to my knowledge - you’ll need to travel elsewhere to take part in that.
  11. If you’re on mobile, look top right in the ‘Header’ for the three stacked lines. That’s the ‘Menu’. Click, open and you’ll see an icon resembling a envelope, again top right. Click that to access your PM’s. I’ve never accessed the site on desktop, but if you can’t already see the ‘Envelope’ icon for your PMs, then I assume you’ll need to click your profile icon, through which you should then see your PMs.
  12. Hmm, that seems odd...only 2x 15 minute details?? Why’s that? I think you’ll really struggle to do any effective load development in 15mins. I assume you’ll follow the OCW method as you’re upping the charge incrementally. in 15mins, I should think you’ll only have enough time to shoot a 5x round group, record your chrono velocity/SD/ES, wait for barrel to cool a bit and shoot a second 5x group before you’re packing up. Really you need a good amount of time to shoot all your loads in the same session, so wind, temp, humidity, your shooting position and mental attitude are all the same. Otherwise you’re going to introduce other external variables to your load Dev which may skew results. Why the overly punitive range details of 15mins? Personally, I think you’d be better served at a different club or think about visiting Bisley or a private range that’ll allow you the time and space so you’re not rushed, to complete your load development.
  13. Free for me. Maybe a Welsh thing, but never been charged by my GP during renewals or variations.
  14. You’d do better placing this in the Sales section of the forum...as that’s where people who want to buy stuff will look.
  15. Yeah, those are particularly anaemic loads. You don’t mention the cartridge you’re shooting, but possibly a 6.5 creedmoor or .260rem? Ive found the past 6.5x47L rifles I’ve had really start to shine with higher pressure loads.
  16. Me too. Its dark days for ODRC. As far as I can tell, the club is sadly dead in the water.
  17. New, unused and unaltered x10 round metal Accurate Mag for .223/.204 etc. Some minor surface marks from rattling around with other Mags in my bag. Never used in the gun though. £60 posted to U.K. mainland address
  18. Owning several full custom/switch barrel builds (Impact 737r and Defiance Mutant), in .338 Norma Magnum, 6.5x47, .223AI and .30-06, plus an AI AWM in .300wm, I personally don’t think any misplaced shot will be attributable to any gun you choose to buy, whether that’s custom or other. All the guns are as accurate as each other, regardless of being custom or not. All have top components and will all shoot very well once I’ve found the right load that suits them. All the guns have been flawless in operation, regardless of rain or shine - they just keep going. Personally, my advise would be to choose a gun with an adjustable stock or chassis so that you can fit the gun to your body shape and style of shooting. Other than that, I think just choose whatever makes you feel happy, you are comfortable with (eg weight of carrying for stalking etc) and have at it - regardless of factory, custom or semi-custom. But regardless of how nice ones kit is, there is no substitute for practice. Just get out there and practice.
  19. Nope. Advert description still states Finn Accuracy reticle, but the box shows it’s just a P4FL-MOA reticle. That is NOT the MSR. Here’s S&B data sheet on the P4FL-MOA: https://www.schmidtundbender.de/phocadownload/absehen-datenblaetter/Schmidt-Bender-Datasheet-P4FL-MOA-FFP-5-25x56-PMII.pdf
  20. I did a fairly thorough analysis and review of the Chargemaster Lite back in 2017 when they came out. I know it’s not a Matchmaster...but worth a read none the less. https://ukvarminting.com/topic/38699-rcbs-chargemaster-lite-arrived-today/ As noted by DS1 above, the Lite was handy for throwing. And to be fair, the scale unit was actually very accurate ONLY if you did the following; 1. Under throw a charge 2. Remove pan, leave to settle and replace pan 3. Trickle up to final weight If following the above, it was very accurate - often to within 0.02gn - or 1-2kernels of N140. But doing the above took time...and completely defeated the whole purpose of having an auto dispensing machine. Needless to say I sold the Lite and bought the Fx-120i with Autotricker & Autothrow combo and haven’t looked back.
