Any more news on this? -
Interesting, thanks for that. Never come across one of those before.

Hi Folks, An old chap I know gave me a magazine to see if I could find out what it's from. Has 7MM EXP.REM stamped on it. The button on the bottom slides about 1 inch and lowers the back of the follower. Any ideas? Thanks.

I use corn cob media. Very fine, almost like sand. I got it ages ago from a shot blasting supply place in a 25kg bag. Google mesh sizes for media, as that was how it was described for grain size. I can't remember the mesh number off hand (it was a while ago)but I would imagine a supplier would show you or tell you. Great stuff, doesn't block the flash holes. I usually add a small amount of T cut or similar and tumble this on it's own for half an hour before adding the brass. This seems to stop any dust also. As stated above, it'll last years.

69 gr SMK over 24gr Vhit N-140 in my 1/9 twist Rem 700. Mild load, easy on the brass and accurate in my application.

Hi, I'll take the versa pod mount please Please PM me with preferred payment. Thanks -
I've found the 150gr smk to be very good and the 162 eld x. You can push the 150 quite fast, should still be easily super sonic at 1000. This is ballistic app theory though, I haven't done it myself yet. Accuracy wise, my Remington 700 Varmimt, nothing special, 1 / 9.5 twist I believe , shoots well with both above bullets.

Calling all Straight Pull Reloaders - Bullet Inertia
deadcenter replied to gruntus's topic in Handloading
I only shoot this round in my nagant but use the sellier and ballot 180gr bullet which has a canular. Good bullet and quite cheap. I always use the Lee factory crimp die and have never had issues with rounds in the magazine having bullets move. Not the same as the bolt slamming forward I know, but seems a solid round in my application. -
Well.....seems the answer is that they shoot well to at least 600m. Can't see why they wouldn't go further. Strelok says easily supersonic at a thousand yards? I'll probably never shoot them that far. Elevation was 16 mins over the 100 yard zero at 600m. Loaded them over 44.5gr RS60 for approx 2600 fps. Standard Rem 700 Varmint of 1980's vintage. I think any probs were the wind and me reading it. Not a serious F class tool, but had fun.

Hello chaps, I'm just about to load up some Hornady ELD-x 162gr for 7mm-08 with the intention of shooting them at paper out to 600 meters at the weekend. I see that the BC of these is a little different from the ELD match bullet. Is there any reason to worry that these may perform badly at this distance, or even further? Not sure of any boat tail differences or bullet shape between them. Just wondering what to expect. I usually shoot 150gr SMKs but thought I'd give these a go. Any thoughts? Anyone shoot these mid to long distance? Thanks.
