taffy
Just had my new AI AT back in 22BR. Been a while and have a 1:12 Krieger to shoot 53gr V-Max. Started with 31gr VV133 BR4 and seated 20 thou forward from the datum point. This is not necessarily jammed into the lands. Shot a vertical slot. It's been a while and I am returning albeit slowly to the fold. Can't bloody remember if this is a velocity syndrome or seating depth related. Could someone re educate me please?? Thanks...... The Gun Pimp
'Vertical' simply means that the barrel is out of tune. Tweak the load 1/3 grain either way and you should get rid of it. The other cause of vertical is down to inconsistent gun-handling.
AnthonyR
Personally I would use the Sierra 55gr BK which I have found is a much more consistent bullet than the 53gr V-Max
garyw
use N135 with the br4 s that will make it sing.

gunner
Hi taff , if it were me id switch to sierra or another make bullet as stated , some of the boxes contain different bullets from different batches recently with Hornadys etc . I used to use 50 & 55 sbk in a 223 and 223ack both were very accurate bullets . Also just wondering how your brass is sized ? As too much neck tention can cause inconsistent results . Normally the problem would be solved by either expanding the necks with a mandril or using a bushing die of some sort to get the fit just right ! Pork has or had a br22 and from memory it was his most favourite caliber all the best ....
garyw
theres nothing wrong with vmaxs for vermin -bks are also very good but for me the vmax expands more.
justin credible
I stopped using vv133 and went over to RS52 in my 22br and shot the smallest 3 shot group that I have ever managed, a 0.045" Happy days.

Shuggy
@taffy Does your AI AT feed the BR cases, or do you just single feed?

Big Al
N140 with 69 TMK's works well for mine and a friends rifle I built. He has had good results with N140 and 55 SBK's from a 9 twist.

OSOK
Horizontal strings is usually seating depth , My old 22BR load development shows the horizontal string and in my case it just needed the bullet seating a tad further out .
