  1. On the other hand Pengo - I'm slightly favouring the Gay Tiger for 1000 yard when Lapua bring out the brass in autumn.
  2. You'd certainly be OK for 600 yd BR (I'm currently shooting a 6BR at 600 and 1000) but you might be giving away a bit of velocity at 1000 yds. Why not just open the boltface a few thou and shoot 6BR or Dasher? Easy job for a 'smith. You'd be wanting a 28 or 30 inch barrel.
  3. Bought a Vostok a few years ago for £100 - hoping to rebuild it into a 22RF benchgun. The chunky action looks good but the set triggers were not so good. I still have action and cutdown barrel if you need spares.
  4. 6x47 Lapua - I'm assuming you run this calibre? I'm shooting mine on RS60 for 1000 yd benchrest but none left so I'm looking to switch to Vhitavuori - so 150 or 160 with a 105gn bullet.
  5. Yes I am thanks - would love to see you return to the benches sometime.......
  6. Al - I think that's one of the best summations of barrel-tuners I've ever read.
  7. Well worth a watch - all 75 minutes - unless you've just fitted a barrel-tuner.........
  8. Never shot PRS but always thought the challenge was targets at unknown distances - difficult to run on a formal range with fixed firing-points and bullet-catchers - so how was this achieved at Bisley?
  9. I have a box of 300gn Bergers (and 250s for that matter) PM me if interested.
  10. Nick - that's a good price with rings and level - stick it on Diggle Club notice board - I know a couple of shooters looking for one.
  11. Matey - What are you using to weigh your powder charges when you sell these?
  12. Fox Firearms have just taken in an 'as new' 36X Sightron with fine crosshair. Great scope for what you want. Objective 50mm or more - why?
  13. Black rat - if you're a Diggle member - we've just set up a members notice board for sale/wanted/exchange of reloading components.
  14. Brian Fox keeps a stock but your a long way from Diggle. It's used by foundaries for casting - there may be one in your area if you Google it.
  15. I saw some Federal for a bargain £150/1000! But, I need to try some Sellior & Bellot at a more realistic £70/1000 from Westlander.
  16. 6-284 is awesome but think 450 rounds............. If you want benchrest accuracy.
  17. N140 is usually the 'go to' load with 155s.
  18. Someone selling a Savage 308 barrel for £100 (with borescope pics) on the Fullbore forum.
  19. The 308 Savage FTR is a great choice for starting in FTR - I don't think your other options come with that 30 inch barrel. The Savage laminate stock is plenty good enough.
  20. When Laurie Holland did his primer test for Target Shooter the Magtech primers did really well. http://www.targetshooter.co.uk/?p=2662
  21. Good choice. Gap? You want the bag-rider to ride in the ears - not the stitching. I guess either 17 or 19mm will be OK but personally I'd go for the 17mm. The ears are sand filled so a bit of movement to bed the bag-rider in snuggly. I see you're in North Yorkshire. I shoot F Class at Diggle once a fortnight and I'd be happy to let you try my bag - and there will be one or two other Lenzis there as well - before committing.
  22. Mike - one of our new members is looking for a scope like the one you have for sale. If you can drop it off with me the next time you are at Diggle I think I can move it on for you - Vince
