brown dog
A couple of weeks ago, sensing the certainty of a lockdown; I decided to nip out to see if I could pick up a s/h BRNO for a spare slot on my chit. Unbelievably, I walked into my local shop and immediately spotted a BRNO for £120, complete with SAK and scope... a 30 second shufti at crown and bore, and I bought it with no further thought. The rifle's aesthetic is a delight Haven't had much chance to play with it yet, but it seems incredible so far (I swapped a better scope onto it than the 4x40 job it came with). First tgt pic is zeroing at 22m a couple of days ago (the tgt dot's fallen off) first 3 shots bottom right (including a first-round cracker), then bold adjustment and another 3, then another adjustment and another 3. The top two holes are 3 rds each! Then yesterday, off a footstool (!😂) at 40m. 2 x 3rd group (with a scope adjustment between the 2!) All groups with SK standard - the limiting factor is me! Best 120 quid I've spent in a long time!! and, as a fun distraction, it's making me smile😊😊
Kalahari
The old BRNOs shoot really well. Far better than the price would suggest. Do enjoy it. David.

Re-Pete
Cracking rifles............we had one for LSR a few years ago. That liked SK Std, too. Pete

Bob57
The best CHEAP accurate rifle out there👍, I gave mine away a few months ago and now wish I hadn't, but my son has it now so not all bad.
Scrumbag
They are great little guns. When all this is over I'm going to 1 for 1 my current cut down version back to a longer one with the iron sights and a straight stock, much like yours, Browndog. Bushdog
They are brilliant rifles. I remember back in the day losing cash to a mate by betting him he couldn't make first shot of the day hits on a postage stamp at 75yds with one - he did it every time, to my wallet's detriment. I like the way they've kept the iron sights on that despite threading a mod. I think rifles with iron sights (even if scoped) just look "right". Scrumbag
Right, that's it. I'm changing my little cut down Brno for a straight stocked, threaded but still iron sighted model 2.

Scrumbag
Well, that's what I thought it was buying but the thread wasn't quite true so the pellet clipped the front end of the mod. It came back from the RFD really short...
richard griffith
Bought a BRNO back in the 60’s and what a fantastic little gun it was.Used to group within 1/2 inch at 100 yards when calm.Bought a 22-250 and sold it on to my cousin with 4x40 Nikko Sterling scope (all you could get then). It has ,through circumstances come back to my ownership and I was astounded that on shooting it again 35 years later with the Nikko scope Still untouched that it retained its astounding accuracy with no loss of zero.It probably says as much for the gun as the scope!!!!In the intervening period I did purchase a CZ with hogs back stock which was vastly inferior and sold on in short order.Richard. Andrew
When a US importer was down to the cracked stock dregs of his BRNO 2 rifles I bought what he had left: 13 barreled receivers, 6 complete bolts, a barrel of bad stocks, and a few pounds of assorted bolt parts and trigger groups. I assembled a rifle for my girlfriend when we first started dating. It was dated in the 1960's. I repaired the stock and put it into good order. On our first range trip together, we got it zeroed at 25M and she proceeded to shoot the staples out of the target with open sights. (ranch girl) She now has other 22's but she loves her BRNO.~Andrew
Kalahari
Sorry for a bit of a thread hijack, but where did you get that comb raiser please? David.
