Recommended Posts

What do you think of the look of the new 'best of the west' dvd?

'How to read the wind beyond belief'

If it wasnt for the stupid shipping cost I'd probaby have ordered it on spec

Mark,

I think you need to use the amazon 'genre' search.

You'll find Gary's "dont lose your cap" by GUS TYDAY in the same section as the other wind-shooting great: "Wind in the Willows" by Russell Ingleaves

Recommended to me were sailing, hang gliding and kiting books.

However, nothing beats practical experience,

I try and imagine the wind as a liquid, flowing over obstacles and terrain.

Kind of works for me,,,,

Absolutely.

I also find that converting all assessed /estimated winds to equivalent 90deg winds makes the mental processes much easier.

The US coach Mid Tomkins and his daughter wrote a very good book which included wind reading.
