All very good points but getting back to the tuners....
I think the answer to the original question is; forget it.

Might be US shooters, UK shooters in the PRL that place in the top ten last year are now 'classified' this season as 'Pro' shooters, 11th to 20th placed are 'Semi-Pro', 21 and below remain 'Amateur'; not sure what effect that will have and how the classifications will be used but there was a thought about pairing a 'Pro'/'Semi-Pro' with an 'Amateur' for some shoots, something they did at the Guardian shoot apparently but don't quote me.
I know that at least two 'Pro' shooters were using 6mm (both 6XC) last year possibly more and in the top 4 it there were at least 50% using 6mm.
Sorting through my brass from the Orion Final I seem to have picked up some 6mm Creedmoor so thats another 6mm calibre besides the 6-6.5x47, 6XC and .243 Win being used.
I'm sticking with 6XC.

Who are the best shooters?

Hi John, would you accept £75 cash from a fellow matelot? I’m working in Plymouth until next week so could collect or meet you somewhere.
Sorry already sold.

Large, it's not Palma Brass.

If it can stand taking knocks as its manoeuvred over, around and through barricades, walls and apertures then maybe. Does any USA PRS competitor that you know of use one?

Just a thought..!!
I'm not sure if all this wet tumbling over cleaning is bad for the cases from slowly making there dimensions smaller..
A gentle clean in a dry tumbler or ultrasonic bath would be much better..
I generally use a fine wire wool and a cordless screwdriver but that probaly just as bad but it takes only a few seconds for each case🙄.
Not an issue.

Something I read somewhere about case discolouration when using warm/hot water. I did get some funny results once when I used water out of the kettle hoping that I could cut down the tumbling time, cases had a funny purplish tinge; put them through again with cold water and all ok.
-
Always use cold water.

I settled on the Hornady ELDM 225 grain bullet for my first load development but will soon be experimenting with Warner Tool Company Flatline .30 Caliber 198gr with Tubb Nose Ring.

I don't think so. The electronic targets and shot marker system fixed to the original standard targets are different systems.
The 'caged' electronic systems in Butt 19 can be left out, I would suspect that the Shotmarkers are removed each day as the Sensor Hub has the be recharged and is very easy to remove (steal) as ate the Sensors.

No, but there you go.

In my limited knowledge, it all depends on the speed of the bullet. I have seem .308 not register when shooting at 1000 yards.
The bullet still needs to be supersonic AFAIK.

So how do you give a shot marker system a message 4?
You don't

@The Gun Pimp do they take the shot marker system down at Diggle? They don't at Bisley. Sometimes they can be left up for days. Can't be good for them.
I would guess you are getting confused between different systems.

I think that I am right in saying that the target system measures in metric and not as you have stated (imperial) for this very reason metric gives a better accurate reading!!
but at the end of the day it is the same for every shooter. Perhaps someone will chirp in and give us some figures??
Darrel
Taken from the Shotmarker website:
QuoteReal-world accuracy will be limited by motion of the sensors and the air while shots are being detected. Typically, every shot will be reported within a few millimeters, with ideal performance being realized on a stable frame in calm conditions.
In general, a standard long range 6x6 frame that is secured from movement in the wind should be able to maintain accuracy within 1/4", although technically this is dependent on the wind conditions. To put it simply, if the shooter has a hard time keeping the shots in the black, the accuracy of the e-target system will not be a significant concern.Darrel please don't think I'm deriding your achievement I merely questioned the validity of 'Records' set on electronic target systems that are know to have a tolerance band, particularly when that is relatively large given your group size (could have been 25% larger or smaller in the case of a 1" group).
-
Excellent shooting, I do have a question on the use of the Shotmarker (I have one and they are excellent) when setting 'Records' given that the stated accuracy of the system is to within approx 1/4" depending on wind conditions (affecting the target not the bullet); would record claimed on a Shotmarker be valid or would it have to be verified on paper (difficult to do if the target has multiple hits on it?

If your problem is with a Autotricker or Autothrow working with an A&D Scale contact Adam McDonald via his website, he responds very quickly.

There is supposed to be a transition period.
