THANKS TERRY Wish this virus would hurry the hell up and let me get back to shooting now.
That’s not Terry, it’s Russ 😂

Having had the first 6mmAR in the UK quite a few years ago all I will say is that you are unlikely to get the velocities Robert quotes in a 'Straight Pull' unless you opt for a long barrel (24"+) and are happy to deal with the odd (or maybe consistent) hard extraction. Without the velocity advantage to get the most out of the 6mm bullets available you might as well stick with a .223.
I did have a Remington 700 chambered in 6mmAR, it was accurate but offered no advantage over my T2k in 6XC

Sorry, don’t hold your breath.

Depends how big the tgt is 😂😊😊
Intended this as ballistic truths 😊
In the context I’m referring to the targets are big enough with a flat shooting 6XC.

Changing from kneeling to prone in all practical circumstances is irrelevant.
-
As I’ve indicated the practicalities of shooting in the UK means in most circumstances holding the lower half of the target will suffice.
-
I've found in the PRL matches that I've shot the angles are never really very 'high' and the distances so short that to just aim at the lower half of the target usually suffices. The theory is right though its just that the practical application, due to the limits of the available shooting spaces in the UK, means that it does not make a great deal of difference on target if the calcs mean the target is +/- 10 Yards/Metres different between horizontal and line of sight distance.

I thought they were held via magnets..
Can we have a view through sight picture of the Charlie tarac..??
It's the same as a regular view through your scope.
-
My Charlie Tarac fits to the rail not the scope.

Charlie Tarac

Well done, simple but effective.
-
Get a Tubb ATR with Charlie Tarac in 33XC and you are ready to go, less than 25 lbs all up weight. Must be more than one of these over here.
-
Barrel make is not an issue, barrel profile unlikely to be an issue unless it's fatter than the action.
-
Be exclusive get a McMillan T2k absolutely the best Precision Production Rifle out there (but they don't make them anymore).
-
They will export ARCA rail accessories and reloading accessories but not Muzzle Devices and other firearm components.

I zeroed my red dot at about 50 yards on a lighting conductor on top of a lamp post from inside the house with the rifle on a tripod and the scope on maximum magnification, it seems to work at all distances.
Remember all you want to do is align the scope tube with red dot and not the red dot with the reticle, if the red dot is aligned with the scope tube the scope tube will always point at the same place as the red dot so the target should be in view.
-
I have mine canted on the left side of a S&B PM11 5-45x56 you can see through both the Aimpoint Micro and main scope eye piece at the same time, takes a little practice but works well when mastered.

Anyone got one?
If so what are your thoughts?

Tripods are rarely used successfully and time pressure usually prohibits getting a good steady setup. When I do use one if another member of the squad does not have one he's welcome to use mine. Bags are all different, PRL is about problem solving, too much time spent faffing with different bags will cost you, eventually you'll whittle it down to one or two. Most locations I've shot at require you to hump all your gear from A to B and C etc, carry too much kit and you'll suffer.
A few thoughts:
- PRL is not 'Stalking' or 'Vermin' or shooting practice so don't try and compare the two, they have similarities but are also akin to other types of shooting.
- Avoid shiny sponsors shirts and the whole "IPSC' thing, I don't like that.
- Avoid cash or material prizes other than trophies for shooting well; promotes the wrong shooter behaviours.
- The two day format has been adopted on occasion to counter for the sometimes awful British weather in the hills and on the moors; I don't relish doing a 1000 mile round trip to get rained or more often 'fogged' off. A short range or maybe even shorter rimfire match might work as a back-up but that's another rifle.
- ELR, I like shooting my .300NM its like a 'frickin' laser beam. I'm looking forward to shooting the 33XC. I'm not too fussed about alternate PRL and PRL(ELR) days but if it is PRL(ERL) keep it all +1000 yards.
- Congratulate the organisers; I've organised many competitions, its a ball ache, I ran the RBL series of precision shooting matches at Bisley and raised over £35k for the Legion, I stopped after I got volunteered to go back to sea and no one, not even the NRA, was prepared to run it on because it was 'frickin' hard work.

I just think that ( and this is just my opinion ) more effort should really be put into the rimfire PRL or at the very minimum the same amount!
Do it, if you build it they will come 😉

That’s just joke haha £300 entry fee (?not sure if I’ve read that right ) haha
The actual Match Fee was £200 for two days shooting, the extra £100 was for a 'Training' day on the Friday before the match.

Very few actually gained from any 'sponsorship' last season, a few were being sponsored this year but not many. It is expensive and unfortunately there is not much that can be done to reduce the cost, may be sponsorship would be better spent reducing the cost for all rather than the select few but there aren't enough sponsors with spare cash to do that.
Typical cost for me for the 1st Round of this seasons PRL were £300 for entry fee and pre match training day at Orion, ammo (all hand-loaded but typically approx £0.85 per round not including time) £255, fuel £150 (3L Range Rover so that could be less), accommodation £285 for 3 nights in a AirBNB, meals and sundries lets say another £75 so thats already £965 not including barrel wear and breakages. I had planned to share the AirBNB but that would only save maybe £180.
The difference between £1200 to enter from across the Irish Sea would be the Ferry crossing costs.
PRL is not cheap and the cost to enter is the same no matter what class you shoot in, you can reduce cost by sharing travelling and accommodation and maybe camping but that's about it.
The cost that cannot be measured easily is 'her indoors' patience. -

Very saddened to her of Alan's passing, as you say he was a true gentleman and I did have the pleasure of shooting with him and downing a drink or two at Bisley.
Please pass on my condolences to him family and friends.

There were at least 4 stages being shot in that area concurrently, usually two on the platform and one just off either side. Just looking at the video clip again there were three shooter on the platform, one prone on far left, one in a box in the middle and the guy changing position on the right. All shooting at different targets at different ranges spread around the valley.
