  1. Hawke Sidewinder 30 8-32x56 SR Pro reticle Scope only as it came with a rifle I bought and the RFD didn't have the box or sunshade. £200 plus postage.
  2. I have a Hawke sidewinder 8.5 - 25 x42 with all the bits in the flight case that is up for sale soon as I've had a reshuffle with all my rifles and optics. It was on my 455 and a cracking scope for a rimmie. I also have and 8-32 SRPro reticle sidewinder
  3. I was wondering how much it would cost for a reticle change on a NF? I was eyeing a NXS up with a reticle that I wasn't keen on, it would work out daft money in the long run as basically whatever the cost is in $ equates pretty much the same as £ once all the shipping and duty is added.
  4. I bought a PST 5x25 Gen 2 in FFP on the strength of positive feedback from our members after a thread I started a couple of weeks ago. Bought it in mint condition from a fellow poster on this forum. Due to lock down I've not been able to use it but earlier today I mounted and levelled the scope in a Tier One saddle but noticed the flowing... I had the mag set on full and whilst turning the dial on the elevation Turret I noticed that as I dialled down to the zero stop and back up again after it reached the stop, the reticle would move diagonally ever such a small amount, always the same direction. Once it got past the initial 3 to 4 clicks it would straighten out. When mounting scopes I clamp the rifle pretty solid and use bubble levels to make sure it doesn't move then tighten down to the specific torque settings using my digital wheeler fat wrench. Could the reticle shift have something to do with the zero stop and should I be concerned as obviously in the current climate I can't go out to test the tracking. Thanks.
  5. All I can say is that I'm going down that rabbit hole once all of this settles and the reason for me personally is the 3 reasons you highlighted.
  6. I bought the Tac A1 last year as I was planning to use it at Offas, but with one thing or another I've still not joined and it's sat in the cabinet waiting to be used 👎
  7. Thanks for the replies, since I put up this thread I did some more reading and found this reply on another forum, pretty much states what you two have said 👍 Ps.. @johngarnettyeah the sporter stock is a cracker, and yes very much Sako TRG 👍
  8. What's that saying, "The Devil will find work for Idle hands to do"? Week 5 off work and my boredom is being taken care of partly by reading books on long range shooting, articles on shooting and watching yootoob for more info. So far a scope and mount has been purchased as an upgrade and now I've been reading about upgrading to a chassis system as there are more advantages in doing so? One of my centrefires is a T3 Sporter in 223, as standard it has the adjustable laminate stock and it shoots well and is very accurate. My question is, is it worth swapping over to a chassis or will I not notice much difference in terms of better accuracy as allegedly these systems provide? I shoot on land and have been getting more and more into target shooting and plinking. Your thoughts are appreciated 👍
  9. For a 30mm tube, 1.25" high, 5 to 40 MOA adjustment, handful of months old, excellent unmarked condition, come complete, £70 ovno, price includes postage.
  10. And this ^^^^ in a nutshell. This has been said so many times in different "hobbies" that I've had and been involved in over the years. Some folk are lucky enough to be able to afford a £2.5k scope and another £1.5k scope on a separate rig. I'm comfortable at the £1k mark so from the research I've done the IOR seemed to be the better scope, I may be completely wrong hence this thread. But to buy a £400 Vortex? I see no point as previously mentioned I've owned better scopes. If it turns out that the IOR isn't as good as Richard suggests then I'll have no problem saying so.
  11. No worries about bursting my bubble, if he is , he is, but I can't see him falsely advertising the quality of the scopes he's reviewing? What you mentioned regarding the US sites and their negative feedback , (especially sniperhide as it is one of the sites I visited) and the reasons as to why IOR have had a slating , it makes sense. I was going to go for a Vortex but I've had decent scopes in the past prior to me swapping over to FAC and I'd rather not go through the ballache of buying a used Vortex only to sell it later at a lesser price, "touch wood" I've not lost money on scopes over the past few years and fingers crossed the IOR stands upto the review from Richard and the others that I've read? I guess the beauty of getting the optics from OW is that they offer the "try to see if you like" option, if it doesn't work out then I send it back and have credit sitting there waiting to spend on another scope or add to at a later date.
  12. Regarding a mount I have bought the Tier One Unimount 👍
  13. Thanks, and as a "noobie" coming into the FAC world, your replies are worth a lot. Regarding Richard's reviews, yes a long term "owners" review would help but I'm guessing that as he covers a wide range of optics and other shooting related items, he may not have the time? Also I get the feeling that he's honest with his reviews and not just being a sales rep for optics warehouse which helps. I've seen lots of reviews on YouTube from so called "end users" that allege to have nothing to do with the scope (in this instance) they're reviewing, yet they're covered in head to toe with the scope manufacturers label, I tend to take those with a pinch of salt. Time is on most of "our" side regarding this virus which can help with sitting down and doing some research into whatever "flicks our switch". Once I get time to use the scope I'll do a quick report 👍
  14. Thanks for that, I only had a budget of £1k so I was scouring as much info as I could. The review that Richard Utting made for the scope I bought (albeit SFP not FFP) gave me more confidence in opting for the IOR. I was looking into the Viper PST Gen 2 and they had a great review by many but then there were those that stated that they had to send their scopes back due to one issue or another, that said, Vortex have a brilliant warranty program so those owners weren't too fussed.
  15. Thanks for the replies so far. I was doing some research as mentioned and not much in the way of positive comments stateside, maybe because those boys stick with Nightforce (when comparing NF vs. IOR? ) I took the plunge and ordered the IOR Vulcan Tactical 6-24 FFP after what little reviews I could find, the ones that did appear seemed very favourable regarding glass and tracking, coincidentally, those reviews were from UK and EU owners. Hopefully when it lands this coming week (fingers crossed) it'll live up to what I've seen and read?
  16. I've been trying to get some info on IOR scopes, a lot of the info that comes up via Google goes back a good few years and are mainly on US sites and they're not particularly favourable, I've seen some reviews by Richard Utting on his YouTube channel and he gives them a thumbs up. Has anyone owned or currently owns one, if so your thoughts?
  17. . 25 cal M18x1 Sako thread, in very good condition. Came with a T3 22 250 that I owned but never used the mod. £130, can meet around Warwick area or RFD at your expense when they are back open? Ps.. The mod is not as dark as in the photo.
  18. I watched that the other day, I subscribed to their channel a while back and really like them and their content, they're both knowledgeable folk. I was really surprised that at that distance, the 22 round would make such a 'clang' 😮
  19. Nice scopes, I have the new Falcon X50 on my Anschutz BR scope, that is allegedly a rebadged S3 10-50x60?
