Resurrecting an old thread after a good read. But can someone clarify if the 16" length is optimum for the 22 cartridge, then why do most bench rest guns far exceed that length? Also, why do manufactures offer various different barrel lengths in the same model of gun? Thanks

As a new member to the world of FAC, my next stop was to join Offas Dyke as that's the nearest long range near to me. My membership form is pretty much filled out and ready to post but after reading some of these posts I'm a tad worried if it's the right Club to join if all of these restrictions are popping up? Do I hold on or do I bite the bullet (oops) and send off the form and hope for the best?

Up for grabs is one of my 22LR's. This has had at last count around 620 shots down the barrel. The condition of the bolt and crown will confirm this. This shoots 5 shot groups at 50m under the size of a 5p piece, photos to prove accuracy.I bought this new from the Sportsman Gun Centre in Newport around a year ago. This is the stainless American version but it's had an upgraded laminate thumb hole stock.Will come with a Nikon Prostaff Efr 3-9x40 scope and not the one in the photo, the Nikon is in immaculate condition. Bipod is included in the price. Gun is mint and was used a handful of times for vermin but lately solely target shooting.Only selling as I am shooting benchrest more with my Anschutz.Will RFD at your expense or pick up from Warwick. £550 for rifle and scope

Evening all, I'm thinking of swapping the barrel on my rifle. I've tried to find someone in the UK that sells the barrel on its own but struggling. Edgar Brothers and Brownells sell them but they do a kit including a magazine etc. Any help would be appreciated.
